Hard shift and after running 30-45 min seems like the TC doesn't lock up going down the road under load. Just replaced the Speed sensor as that sometimes gives bad signal to the brain. But my Rear ABS light is on and I know that will cause the trans to shift funny.  1992 E350 7.3 is what we are dealing with.

Are you getting the OD light on the dash flashing? This will indicate trans. fault codes stored. Check wire connectors to trans for good connection (disconnect, check pins and receptacles, a little dielectric gel and reassemble) and grounded, shorted, bare wires from abs sensor. Hard shift will come from high line pressure, which will come from stuck governor, or elec. input indicating increased throttle input (your foot) and/or slippage. Increased (or perceived increased) throttle pressure or slippage will keep tc from locking up, and late/delayed od engagement. Does the fluid look black,,or have an acrid burnt odor?

Not to thread crap by jumping in but i need the same answer on a 99 Chrysler Town and with the 3.8 fwd, it was slipping on take off in reverse then suddenly now it quit slipping but it does the following Park - Park but feels like it wants to be in reverse if not for the parking paw holding it R- Reverse N- Reverse D- Nothing 3-L Nothing I can see and feel it select each gear on the shifter and at the trans. I'm in the Sweetwater area if someone with a shop wants to make some money around the first of February. Edited by Tobashadow
