I looked at Cheaper Than Dirt yesterday to price some .30 Carbine ammo.

They had Wolf in a 50 round box for right about 12 bucks. Just looked now and it was now 29 bucks for 50 rounds. Good Lord that is craziness.

Yep, I just happened to have ordered a couple of XD mags and odds and ends from CTD last night.

Threw in couple boxes of Golden Saber 9mm +p.

last night: 17.29 now: 29.97

and some Winchester 12 ga. 00

last night: 4.08 now: 5.10

wow.

I mean, like, WOW...

Will be interesting to see if similar at WallyWorld/Dick's...

Guess I better get back by Dicks and get a couple cases more of that $9/box 9mm.

They'll do "rain check" which I understand they will honor through duration of their weekly specials.

Makes you wanna waste tons of ammo at a Meet-N-Shoot, huh?

Makes me glad I enjoy shooting .22's LOL

I am still in shock over CTD. If OS had not posted a similar story I would have called them tomorrow to see if the website is in error.

If dirt costs that much I might set up a road side stand and try to sell some of mine from here. :)

I am going to the gunshow at the Expo Center Saturday. I am very curious now to see what happens to prices there on ammo, guns and associated gee gaws.

No thought of getting good deals but it ought to be entertaining to see some of the prices.

Yeah, I'll probaby go, too....I have already been stocking up, especially on 9mm and more slowly on 12 ga buck/slugs.

But can tell ya, if these kinds of prices are gonna be the norm all of a sudden, I'll be curtailing the shooting and playing more golf for entertainment.

Re: CheaperThanDirt:

wow, the absolute cheapest in stock 9mm there right how is Blazer Brass for 14.84 for 50 rounds...

same that I bought last week at WallyWorld for $9.

I haven't looked around to see if it's just CTD freaking out, or if this is everywhere.

It really DOES seem like the recent gasoline "shortage", with the election being the hurricane.

I think of these price jumps are just knee jerk reactions.. I think (hope) they will level off here in a few weeks, not sure if they will ever be what they were though..

I expect guns prices will do the same because Mr. O has everyone trying to figure what position he is going to take with things...

Then again.. he probably doesn't know himself..

Stopped by Sportsmans warehouse today, they were out of the normal .223 did see some at Wally World, cheapest was $25.97 +.10 ammo tax and then the reg tax, for 1 box of rem. 55gr.- 50 rounds!

Prices on all AKs on web as well as ARs have gone up overnight, 10-15% min. Had a real shock when i saw Centerfire, who has not raised any prices yet, selling 1 box of 20 rounds, ss109 223 for $39.99???? $2.00 a pop!

Glad i have a tons of it, when it was $5.00 a box yrs. ago! I really am scared to see any prices at the show in Knox. sat.

God help us all, this is only the beginning. Did pick up some Black powder supplies, no 11 caps of 100 at $10.95, Small 1.5 lb. jug Pyrodex was $19.99 and the new Triple se7vn powder 1 lb.size $29.99! Is it much better than pyrodex? Must be, since it costs almost 2x the price of pyrodex, claims water only clean-up?

This isn't a supply and demand thing...CheaperThanDirt is simply exploiting the fears of us gun lovers. Shame on them for doing so.

Remember how pissed off we all got when some TN gas stations hit $5 for no convincing reason....Same thing here.

Yah, that's sad.

FWIW, ammunitiontogo hasn't changed their prices as far as I can see...

Earlier today Ammoman's page said he wasn't taking any more orders until he fulfilled all his outstanding ones.

I hear, he really jacked his prices overnight!

It was bound to happen. You can't really blame the gun dealers or ammo sellers either. If massive bans do happen...its the end of the line. Increased risk should bring greater reward imo, and its not like demand is weak either.

Buying bulk loaded ammo right this minute is...like buying stocks when the dow is at an all time high. If they really do bring out an absurd ammo tax or plan to ban imported powder (most of it), we should see it coming.

I advise risking the wait until X-mas season gets underway. People will quit buying ammo and have to buy consumer gibberish. Things might steady down a little.

I'm not familiar enough with all of his various pricing to say for sure. I want to say that a couple of weeks ago when I checked the price on a case of Wolf 7.62x39 it was $209 delivered. Today it's $229. Not a huge increase.
