Knoxville teenager Emily Ann Roberts’ meaningful performance of “I Hope You Dance” “lit the place on fire” as she auditioned for NBC’s “The Voice,” Tuesday night, according to coach Blake Shelton.

The Karns High School junior’s version of the song made famous by country singer Lee Ann Womack was enough to earn the favor of two of the show’s celebrity coaches and secure a spot in the next round of the singing competition.

My across the street neighbor was on a few seasons ago and made it fairly far. I moved a couple of years ago but from what I understand she tours with Blake Shelton now.

My current brush with "fame" is living a few houses down from Victoria Jackson
