For some cheap easy to make 22LR targets:

You need Thread

Wax

Vanilla wafers

Melt some wax

Cut different lengths of thread

Lay the wafers flat side up 1 2 or 3 in a row ( how ever many you want)

Lay the thread across the rows of wafers

Pour a small amount of hot wax to adhere the thread to the wafer.

Tie your rows in tree limbs or target frame

Step back 50 to 100 yards and PLINK AWAY!

Easy to do cheap and fun shooting for me.

I read on another forum about another cheap 22lr target. Get the small mouthwash cups and fill them up with water and put them in the freezer and freeze them and they will explode on when shot by a 22lr. I read also that tootsie roll pops are good targets.

Could you say that with a straight face? If big enough crowd I believe I could but of course I would suddenly remember I had to be somewhere else instantly and pack up and leave. Seriously though it is a great ideal

How many licks to a tootsie pop center? "Bang" -- that would be one.:D (but that way I shoot, that would be half a brick of ammo)

Golf balls... my fav target by far! I have a friend at church who works at a golf course, so I get a 5 gal bucket of golf balls whenever I want! :D

Dude, I need to be your new friend. The way I golf, I need that many balls a week...

Just don't shoot bowling pins with lightly loaded flat point ammo... my right shin has a funny story about a 148gr HBWC last year.

I was really amazed at how tough those pins are when I first started shooting them. It takes a good amount of solid hits to bust 'em up. I love diggin' the bullets out of 'em, too! When I get a frsh set of them again sometime, I'm going to line them up about 6-7 deep and see how many pins a .223 and 7.62x54r can go through and through! I think that oughtta be the new FBI criteria... "to be considered adequate, a round must penetrate a minimum of 3 consecutive bowling pins through their thickest portion, and retain 80% of their original bullet weight..."
