  1. maybe i see a difference. i think buying like an ar or something with multiple manufacturers that use the same spec as something to work on and customize. these different country manu. seem to change things more than i would think is allowable to use w/e parts you wanted. hell i could be wrong. im also not experienced in the type of work it would require to do that saiga so i wouldnt feel comfortable doing it where as an ar i have no issue with it.
  2. i think id rather just buy one outright. whats the reason to convert if you can just get one otherwise?
  3. that thing about using all your ammo up at the end of the quarter... we fired something like ~58 AT4's in 4 rocket salvos until they were all gone. we were begging people to come up on the firing line to shoot them. one of my old psgt's hit a tank at like 1200m and the sights only go to like 800. he took one practice and went short then got the next one dead on then a third hit the dirt right in front but still got contact with the treads.
  4. i have one. havent used it for carry because i dont have my permit. debating on going ahead and getting it (permit i mean). i have put the holster on and do like the adjustability since i like mine canted pretty far forward. it was a little tight on drawing the weapon.
  5. mine is a j.crew belt i thought was 30 bucks but when i got there it had been marked down to like 10. just a plain leather belt with brass (i think) buckle, single eyelet. (just joking around btw)
  6. i do have issues with its reliabilty. we shot several of different makes and types we had confiscated while in fallujah one day at a range we set up and probably 1/4 of the time you had jams of all types. alot of this was probably the ammo as we had large rice/flour bags just full of rounds and people im sure picked up the wrong type occasionaly but i just wasnt very impressed. you could be 10m from a target and after 3 or 4 rounds you arent even hitting plywood anymore let alone the target. not that i expect everyone to be able to control it on full auto but from that distance you would think you could still come near them. oh and btw they do get hot. that wood i would swear was about to light on fire they were so hot after awhile but i have no idea if we would have had a catastrophic gun failure/cooked round or just burned hand guards.
  7. the wilderness looks like a rigger's belt.
  8. enjoyed lunch wish i had gotten my weapon before the range but i should be there next month. maybe we could try an outdoor range next time?
  9. franklin and brentwood are nice and have an excellent public school system in williamson county which is right next door. although it is very pricey to move in here.

  16. yes we did it once a week as a platoon pt thing. an hour and a half to two hours a week. mostly covering basics but the last 30 mins or so we would actually try and fight it out. my psgt did the combatives program for the whole company since he was from 3/75th and then he was a rip instructor so he tried to teach whenever possible. nice call on teh widowmaker though.
  17. the army's combatives is based on brazilian jujitsu. i can do it to a certain extent but it was never my strong suit... we trained submissions so that your buddy has time to run up and shoot the guy not full on killing someone.
