1. Sadly enough, as a New and Upcoming knife maker, some Truly don't know they are accomplished Knife Artists on an International level. Until they find that knockoffs of their work can be found for sale on eBay that were Really close to Exact Replicas of their own Work, except they are made in China and have Substandard Materials!! I've seen a Lot of Rick Hinderers Knifes that were knockoffs! Tom Begg has a Lot of Fakes made after his Bodega! Benchmade knives have more Shabby Knockoffs than good ones, and are easier to spot. If you know what to look for? We are living in a Country that has been Forced into an International world Market! That's Not what I am use to, but since I'm Living in it I better get good at Spotting the Fakes that sale for 80% Less than the American maker! It's everywhere, not just with knives.
2. That is One Awesome Blade Design, and the Blade stock is thick enough to pry just about anything open without Ever having to worry about damaging that Blade! That is 1 Sweet Tactical knife Man, and the Lines in it just flow perfectly! I hope you're a Member of the Knife Guild? If Your not, you should be, if that's something that would interest you? That really is a show piece, but if used would Never show it!! I never knew this part of the site existed Until a few days ago, and I am So Glad that I have found it, I had No idea there was so many talented Knife Makers / Artisan / Steel Workers of Magic around here? But I'm glad to have finally found out! Did you make that with a 2"x72" VS Setup or something else? I'm just curious because I have seen Bladesmiths make Masterpiece knives with nothing but Files and a hand Drill. Great knife & work! Can you PM me a Price since it is availing? Thank you Sir Eric
3. Like the WiKi Site "PRAG" Referenced in his post, if you read the entire Article?! Benchmade has Not manufactured any of their knives anywhere except the United States for about 5 years and the small amount of Red Class knives that may still be in the open market out there were only a small Fraction made for a very short time!!! That was one small amount that Benchmade Broke Away from because they Only wanted American Made Products, that Red Class didn't last long after Benchmade pulled away to open their Facility in Origan... Benchmade has Always had Top Tier First Class Customer Service, Including a Repair & Replacement Guarantee Like No Other Company, Period! They keep it simple and keep their Customers Happy with an Excellent Product Line that starts out with Great entry level knives that are priced accordingly, and Gradually step Up in Class with Different Materials being used to assemble a More Expensive knife with a Matching price to pay for those materials, and it Steps Up in Class all the way Up to the Gold Class Knives which are the Cream of the Crop in their product Line of knives, and the pricegrabber shows it too!!! Benchmade knives are Collected by More people in the US than any other knife, that I'm aware of? Benchmade has made a Reputible Name for them selves, and with such a Large Product Line here In the US and the Number of knives they sell yearly Here and abdroad, I say they are doing a Reeally Good job with their Business, especially when you consider they are making Production Knives like most knife Companies.. If I had to Guess, I would say that Benchmade & Spyderco sell & Manufacture More knives Yearly and the Most knives Yearly than any other Company in the Business!!! Why the Harshness towards Benchėmade "Willis"? They're just selling knives! Now Spyderco knives, if they aren't made in Golden Colorado, you can Bet it's made in Taiwan!? Tvvhey make knives all over this Big World Nice Ride BTW ?
4. David, You Definitely picked out One Heavy Duty knife, for Sure!! I have one Exactly like yours except mine is a Folder, and I still can't get over How thick the Blade is on that knife, it's well over 1/8" thick!! If I remember correctly the blade is as thick as the Skull Tool that came with the knife, and thicker than a quarter too IIRC? I had thought about thinning out the Hurd and took a lot of pictures to put it up for sale and that's when I noticed How Heavy it was Built!!! It's a Hefty knife but with the Ti Side it balances out really well. All of features made into the knife make it really unique and that's another part that I really like!! I also noticed that inside the knife ( with the Blade open) It has Engraved inside the spine ( Made in Italy by "LIONSTEEL") which was something I was aware of when I bought it?? I wonder if that's on every knife they made like that? Anybody know? Does your knife have that David? Mine was supposed to be one of the 1st Limited Edition knives that came with a Collectors Tin Case, but it showed up in a Silver cardboard Box with the standard DPX HEST Logo & skull printing, and I was disappointed at the time and placed it into the safe with the rest of about 100 too many knives that live in there... If anyone has anymore information about the Engraving on the inside on the knife, let me know if it means anything specific, other than where it's made and by whom?? Thanks , and Not trying to Hijack any threads.. Nice knife David, that will last a Lifetime of Hard Use my Friend...
5. Nice Design and knife work, especially like the Spearpoint blade & finish! Scales & Mosaic Pins do look Great together! Do you Heat Treat your own Blades, or have them done somewhere locally? That acid wash looks Sick (Awesome)
6.
Ok too real here Ya go. Took some work, the cam pin was being a ferguson rioter, but,I got it in. The phase 5 is a lil loose I'll try the pin they gave with it later tonite...
That Handle Really is Litterally riding on the Topside of the Upper, that's Gotta Hurt when you do have to cycle it!!! Ouch... Look at the HAR Side Charger and you can see it is Lower than the one you have pictured, and the Charging Handle is on a Cant or at an Angle going out to the side & Up about at the 10 o'clock position! Big Difference my friend!! Try that Pin that came with the Phase 5 because it's Not Suppose to be Sloppy at all? If it's not that, make sure the Spring or Pin didn't fall out when you were installing the Phase 5?!! I've Never seen Anything as you described Unless one of those 2 Small Pieces Fell Out!!! Nice Lower, I like that and the Phase 5 is the Only Way to Go now isn't it?? :-) or it will be when you get it operating correctly!!!
7.     Would it get any dirtier than a regular charging handle & BCG? I've not found that to be the case with my HAR at all?...
8. Holland Automatic Rifles has a Discount that will be Good for the Rest of this Year, in Honor of Veterans! Any vet that orders this year will get a 25% discount. Non vets 10%. Promotion offer, one time only!!!! All HAR services and products. Holland will also be getting back into the 1911 scene. Just a Side Note from John; Any posing vets will be visited by men in black at 0 dark 30!!!!!
9. I don't personally see how Dirt could get In the Groove where the side charging handle is, because the Bolt is basically closed when you have a round chambered. And at that point the Side Charging Handle is locked into the forward position, so if Dirt or Sand did happen to get in the Groove? As soon as you cycled the Action with the side charging Handle the Flat Bar That the Handle Rides on will Push Anything Out of the Rear Back Open End of The Groove, because it was Left Open & Designed for that very Reason. Make Since? You can clearly see it in the pictures! Also using a Phase 5 On Any side charging AR enables You the "Operator of the Weapon" or " Shooter of the Rifle" to Operate the weapon, Oh SO Much FASTER!!! Brother You have No idea How much Time You can Save Using one? Just be sure to get the AR-15 Type 2 Version (I Think that's Right?) and Don't try it on a Mega Billet Lower because it won't work properly. That's the Only lower that it's not compatible with, as far as I know? The Charging Handle or Knob, is Not Knurled ( My Bad choice of words) but it does have some small raised of perforated spots to make it easier for the user to Grasp and Hold is slippery conditions, but Not mnurled!! My AR In the 1st picture that Dolomite Posted for me IS a Gas Operated System that I shoot Supressed in 300 Blackout or in 223 / 556 depending on my mood and what I'm wanting to shoot!!! The Newer AR is a Piston Driven System ( the AR with the most pictures posted) thanks to A Super Nice Guy; Oh Shoot!! Thanks again my Friend!! I Like Good People Like You :-) . You Rock My Brother!!! DustBuster; if we meet up and You would like to Tryout Both Systems, just let me know and I will Bring them Both for you to shoot??!! Sorry for being away from this for several days, have had family issues with my Mother who is ill.. Later Eric
10. Mega makes Quality parts so it'd be well made for Sure! Although, for me that is a Rediculously high price for a Quad type Rail Monolithic Upper! But Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder, so it may be perfect and exactly what you need, DustBuster? Now for me Personally, If I could Buy a New in the Box Mega MTS 420 S Monolithic Single Rail V2 Upper for that price, I'd be ALL OVER that!! I Really would find it Extreamly Difficult to keep myself from Buying it?!? Wait, Who am I kidding, I'd Buy that Discontinued Model in a Heart Beat!!! To this Day, I Still Regret Not Buying That Monolithic Upper!! And I Still Regret Buying the Voltor MidLength "?" Rifle Length Monolithic Quad Upper instead of the Mega! 😱😂 That thing is Still Packed up in the Box and pushed Back in the Corner of a safe somewhere out of sight!!! BTW; Aim Surplus has them for $65.00 Less, and Free Shipping. 😄
11.
After going back and rerading the posts several times more of the info is begining to sink in, if a person wants to pop for the 375.00 how does one go about buying one of the uppers?   Thanks[/quote Ron Padilla, Here is the contact info For anyone that is interested in Buying one of these Upper Receivers or would like more information about the Upper Receiver's Specifications? Go to Holland Automatic Rifles on Facebook.com ! There is an email address & telephone number listed there to contact them with. You May want to mention my Username Tooreal, or put it in the content of the message just to make sure that you get this Special Pricing, and Free Carrier Milling if you choose to go that route. Getcha One, you Won't be disappointed!!! Eric
12. Oh Shoot, I am So Sorry that I Overlooked Your Question, after You Posted the pictures for Me, I Really feel Terrible!! So please forgive My Oversight my Friend... The Advantaage of Having a Left Side Non- Reciprocating Upper Receiver like this one (that Does Have a Forward Assist) is that while the Operator is Using the Weapon in a Live Fire Situation. If the Operator Happened to Have a Miss Fire, or a Round Jammed & causing a Failure to Feed?! With This System, the Operator would Never Have to take His Eye Off His Objective or Target, Loosing His Sight Picture while Clearing a Jam, or Cycling the Action!!! Unlike a standard AR platform with a Standard Charging Handle where you would Loose Your sight picture while cycling the Action that would be Directly Below the Optic / in Front of the Operators Face / Chin!! OS, I hope that makes since My Friend? If not, just let me know? Eric
13. Ron, I'm not very familiar with the New Frontier side charging upper other than what I have read about it and taken note of in its appearance? With that being said, the Rear Door that Holds the BCG inside the Upper looks like a Weak Spot to me that is prone to fail in time! It also had No Forward Assit or a Dust Cover, which is something that I personally like to have. This HAR Side charging upper Has Both of those, Forward Assist being Very Important to me and also a Dust Cover.. The Rear Door that Holds in the BCG ON the HAR is solid and Straight that firmly locks in place and is then secured by the lower receiver when the upper & lower are closed. Not on a Vertical Angle like the New Frontier.. This upper is solid and been tested for years and for $100.00 more I would personally go this route, just ship them Your Own Carrier & they Mill the two small slots for free.. Good luck on your purchase.
14. This Patented Upper and the rest of the Entire AR that Holland Automatic Rifles builds, including their Patented Piston System, is being tested and run through the trenches by several Branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. This system has been tested and evaluated for years, and is built to work for strength and endurance and to fit the operator like nothing else available. This isn't exactly a low dollar upper that just needs to be sold, it's an opportunity to own one of these uppers, while you can get one. Before the company gets to big to care about selling to Joe Public like me. Holland Automatic Rifles will be a specialty company assembling custom components for specialized purposes & very well may not be available on the open market? It is Definetly not going to be in the price range that I can afford, because they will be up there with LWRC if not more expensive than that! If anyone would like to checkout my AR to see if you may be interested in buying one, just send me a message with your contact information and I will do my best to get together at a location that's convenient for us both.
15. This Is Not My upper receiver or Build, as you would have known had you read the information that I have posted? This is a side charging upper that I was able to Buy from Holland Automatic Rifles for my personal use. I ended up liking it so much that I have sold several of my other side charging AR's. I like it so much that I thought that I would show it to everyone on TGO and let them know about the opportunity to look at it and give everyone here the opportunity to handle my AR and now buy one at a really good price & use the bolt carrier that you already own... Keep up your work in school & enjoy it while you can my friend, I miss those days!!!
16. I spoke to John about selling the Uppers without the Bolt Carrier, and I Emphasized the Fact that a Lot of People Would Want to Use their Own Carrier? He finelly got back with me tonight and He Really is a Nice Guy!!! He will sale a New Upper with No Carrier for $375.00 , and I think that's Really Good. He also said if You Buy an Upper and want to use Your Own Carrier, you just pay the shipping and He will have it Milled for Free.. That's Awesome!! I think!! He said; If you send a Nickel Boron Carrier, It Can be Milled. But the NiBX can Not be Touched up, but he Could Spot Blue the small Milled slots. If you send a Stainless Carrier he would Glass Bead the Milled Spots to make the spots Match the carrier Anyway, I'm Stoked about this for Myself, because I need another one, or Two!? If anything is Miss Spelled I apologize but I'm falling asleep, but everything about the Price & Free Milling on Your Carreier is Correct, just pay to ship it to him. Later Eric
17. Brother, If I hadn't had several Back surgeries in the last 5 years, I'd be shooting 3 Gun with it Right Now!! It's Perfect for that and Every other Application too.. I Really think that you will Love this thing Especially for 3 Gun!! I am in South Nashville close to Percy Preist Lake, are either one of those close to where I'm located? Send me a PM with you Cell # & I'll find a way to make it happen! Tomorrow around 1 o'clock may work for me of its close enough and we can work it out.. Eric
18. btq96r; There is a Forward Assist that is Made into the Side Charging Handle, to Engage the F/A you would press the Charging Knob with your Thumb and then Push Forward. In all of the Rounds that I have put threw this AR, I had a problem with some Ammo that I got at Walmart. It was ZT Brand or Zombie something ammo & came in a White 30 Round Box, and may have been undercharged? Walmart had it on Clearance so I Bought a Bunch & had a couple of crappy Boxes of Bullets. I typed all that to say with those Rounds that did not cycle properly, I did use the Forward Assist to push 1 Round into the chamber when it didn't Fully Close. But, I found that it was Much easier to keep my Eye on the Target and with my Ledt Hand just Cycle the Action with the Left Side Handle, kicking that Round Out & Chambering a Fresh Round from the Magazine. That is ONE HUGE BIG Benefit to me, because I can Hit the Steel Plates at 200 Yards & Never have to Loose my Sight Picture, as soon as the New Round is chambered I'll just keep Hitting them... To me it Just Makes Since!? But that is Just me, perhaps? I may have to post a Video, or I can make one and maybe OZ can post it for me? Because it's just Not that Complicated to Operate.... Ok, I'm going to type this 1 time. The Side Charging handle Moves to the Rear As You Pull the Carrier Back, or Charge the Weapon & at that point it Will Stay Back with the Bolt and Carrier. When the Bolt Carrier is Released the Side Charging Handle Will Move Forward with the BCG, then it Will Lock into Place In the Forward Position, and Stay There Until the Last Round in the Magazine is Fired. At that Point the Charging Handle will Move Back with the BCG and Lock Back in the Open Position in Unison with the BCG and Stay there Until the BC is Released. The Forward Assist is Built Into the Charging Handle which is Held Up AWAY From the Receiver by an Internal Spring. When you Put Pressure on the Flat Surface of the Charging Knob, it Presses a Hardened Steel Bar Into a Small Slot that is Milled into the Carrier to Allow you to Force the Carrier Closed. Which to me works So Much easier than a Standarf F/A... I Hope that makes since & answers your questions. I may send someone a Really Crappy Video that I made in an attempt to make it easier to understand. But I used my iphone and it's got 70% Gun & 30% Trees, Shooting Bench & anything else you would expect from a 3rd Grader in the video! No offense to any 3rd Graders out there, I'm Sure they would have done a Better Job than me!!! And that's a Fact.. Eric
19. Hey Dustbuster, If you would like to shoot this setup, just let me know and we can work out a time and place to meet up and shoot it!! Eric Just to be clear, I Am Not Making Any Money on these Uppers, not .01 Cent... I just ran up on this Upper & Opportunity to Show & Tell Anybody that may be interested in something like this and will provide the information needed for You to Buy One!! I'm Not Fighting Any Battles Here, I am Just Showing Off this Upper that "I" Happen to Believe is the Best thing since Sliced Bread! And has Finally Brought Bill Stoners AR Platform into the 21st Century. That's just my opinion, but from where I stand it's a fact!!! It's needed to Evolve for Quite some time & I'm Happy this has finally happened! I would be willing to Bet if (2 Competetors of Equal Shooting Skills) were shooting the Same Range being Timed for Accuracy and Clearing their weapons. One with a standard AR & the Other with a Setup like Mine, I would be willing to Bet on the Shooter that had One like mine!!! You Really have to Experience it to Fully Understand How & Why I would Ever say Anything like that...
20. I also have an American Spirit Arms Side Charging Upper that I use to like more than my LAR- OPS-4 Ambidextrous Upper and my 6.5 Grendel that has a Mega Arms Billet Upper Lower Set that has a Youngs Manufacturing Nashional Match Bolt Carrier Group with Right side Charging Handle. I have a couple of Extra Plugs that were made to Block the Charging Handle Hole at the Rear of the Upper Receiver if Anyone has a setup like this and needs 1, I would sell it for under $10.00 mailed to you. I Love my Grendel & it will Never be Replaced by anything because of the .333" Groups that it shoots! Dustbuster; I have a Raptor Charging Handle on Several of my Uppers and as Far as I am Concerned, you Won't Find Any Better Charging Handle for a standard AR Platform, Period!!! The Holland Automatic Rifles Upper is $475.00 for a Complete Upper Receiver with a Bolt Carrier with the small place Milled into the Carrier. I have asked about selling the Upper to Us With Out the BC? And if an Upper was purchased, could We Send 1 of Our Own BOLT CARRIERS to them and have them Mill them for Us, as part of the Deal with Buying one of these Uppers? That way it would Still work with Any Other Mil Spec Upper! I am thinking the Upper without the Carrier would be about $375.00 or somewhere in that neighborhood. I Hope, because I would like to Buy 1 more for Myself, and I have BCG's out the Wazoo so this could save me some Cash! I am Broke. I will Post whatever answer I receive when I get an answer.. Eric
21. brq96r; Talking about the forward assist. Tooreal; I got the owner to look at the New Frontier side charging upper and I am going to Paste His response below Here: So the New Frontier weighs more. The sight radius is shorter. The door seems susceptible to damage. There is no forward assist. There is no provision for ejection port cover. Our upper is designed for use with a piston , but works and accepts all mill spec parts. It is extensively fluted to increase strength, and save weight. Our charging handle is also Canted Up, and there are several reasons for that. I will all the Technical Data such as weight and everything else, as I am able to. Eric
22. Btq96r, I can't even say I like the aesthetics of it. It seems out of place, especially so close to the trigger. I wonder how easy it would be to push the gun forward as opposed to pulling the charging handle backwards that close in. Not a lot of space to make that happen from what I see. Could it handle that repeatedly? Brother I believe that You are Describing the Phase 5 Type 2 Bolt Release!?! It's like the Magpul BAD Lever, Except it Does Not screw onto the Standard BHO that's on every standard AR. It Replaces the Original BHO that is shipped with Every LPK. As for the Charging Handle, it is kept in the Forward Position by a SS Ball Bearing that has a Spring Pressed against The Bottom of the SS Ball Bearing. That Pressure is Adjustable by turning the screw In Front of the Charging Handle towards the Front of the Receiver.. I hope that I understood you correctly and answered your question?!.
23. JOHNNY ROTTEN Your right it's really close to a REPR, I almost bought one a couple yrs ago. I have a Ares Gen 5 Shrike upper you can fold the side cocker up or leave it down, it doesn't reciprocate once it's charged. I've never had a Ares in my hands before, and another Non- Reciprocaprocating Upper Too, that's awesome. I'm sure they are Great weapons just going from what I've read & the Belt fed Option is unreal from what I remember?
24. Hey Oh Shoot,   You are Awesome Man!!!!! I was Literally ready to just stop all of this and just say the Heck with it all!!!   Thank you So much my friend..
25. Dolomite_supafly,   That is a Great price point & I can see why you may jump on that deal!! That's cheaper than LAR OPS4 Uppers use to cost, and they reciprocated unlike these.. I've never held one of those Uppers before, so I can't say anything about them Good or Bad?   I do know how this side charger that I have works & operates & am Happy with this & just wanted to let anyone else know about them if they may be interested?
