  1. I bought a new one about 10 years ago and all it did was jam on me. I hated it and sold it back to the dealer I bought it from. I think I would have kept it if it hadn't jammed all the time. I'm not much of a rifle person though. I also had a Colt match target AR-15 .223 that I sold because I didn't like it. I'll keep my handguns and shotguns. Just my .02
  2. I have directv and use a 10 year old 32" regular old tv. I want an LCD BADDDD! But I can't see spending the money that they cost right now. Look how much they've already gone down in a year. If you can hold out, give it a couple more years and you'll be able to pick up a nice 42" or bigger LCD for probably $500. I bought a new Dell computer system in 2005 and I paid almost $500 for a 20" Ultrasharp LCD monitor (stupid )....now you can pick them up for $200.
  3. I lived in the Chicago area until I was 21. I always hated it and I couldn't wait to get out of there! I dreamed of living here in East TN since I was a little girl......I'll never live anywhere else!

  14. I have them on both my Glocks, a 23 and 27. I love them and wouldn't do without them! I had to do a little trimming for the jr. to fit my 27, but it was easy and turned out nice.
  15. Angel, so glad that you decided to join us here! I knew that creating a women's section would encourage more women to join!
  16. I would absolutely love to come but I don't have a babysitter
  17. I'll have to get my guns together and take a recent picture. I have an older picture that's not very good and it doesn't include my most recent toy Guns&Dobes......Very nice collection and I love your picture!!! Bastet, those Berettas are very nice looking! I would also like to know which one you like to shoot the best. The only Beretta I have ever owned was a little .25 auto that I used to carry in my pocket when I lived up near Chicago (20 yrs. ago). I liked it very much. I worked the night shift at a convenient store right next to a housing project......law or no law, there was no way I was not going to carry when I worked there!
  18. MrsS, Yes, I would definitely reconsider carrying without a round chambered. What kind of a semi-auto do you carry? If it has a safety, then by all means carry a round chambered with the safety on. Just make sure you are so familiar with shooting the gun that taking the safety off before you shoot becomes second nature. If you need to draw your gun and use it fast (especially in a high stress situation), having to rack the slide before you shoot could cost you your life. You could be so frightened and have so much adrenaline flowing that even if you have time to rack the slide, there's a good chance that you might not get it fully racked and the gun might not chamber the round or it could be "out of battery." I carry a Glock 27 in a belly band or sometimes a fanny pack. Both of these methods of carry would be considered "unconventional." Glocks don't have a manual safety and carrying them without the trigger gaurd being completly and securely covered (like they would be in a conventional holster) could (not very likely, but still possible) result in an AD (accidental discharge). I never worried about it until I had my son, and with him grabbing me and climbing all over me.....it kind of made me think about how I could carry my Glock with a round chambered safer. So, after checking out a couple different options, I purchased a "Saf-T-Blok" for my Glock. It's just a small plastic piece that fits behind the trigger to keep the trigger from being pulled. All it takes is a quick tap on the side with my trigger finger to pop the Blok out, and it's ready to fire. I like it and I feel safer carrying my Glock "unconventionally" with my son around. Here's a picture of the safe-t-blok if anyone might be interested. Guns&Dobes and Natosha....you guys might want to check into these.
  19. Welcome to TGO Angel! I have a Taurus .38 snubbie I carry sometimes too. They make great carry guns....they are so lightweight and easy to conceal too.
  20. Natosha, Thank You I call him Cameron and Cam for short....I use both. His middle name is James (after my dad), so some people in my family call him C.J., and I think I will leave that up to him what he would prefer to be called when he's old enough to make that decision for himself. I think as his mom, he will always be Cameron to me I have a question about photobucket....maybe you or your mom can help me. Whenever I put a picture on there, it won't let me resize it. It shows up as a thumbnail picture only. When I first started my account, I was able to resize.....then about a month or so ago, they must have changed the software or something. I have dial-up, so maybe that's the problem? The only way I can get a full size picture on here is to put it on TGO's member gallery.
  21. Natosha, Jude is beautiful!!! I can't wait to meet him in person! Here is my son, Cameron. He turned three years old this last January. He is my pride and joy, and the reason I carry 24/7. He came late in my life, at 36 years old. I thought I wasn't able to have children after several years of trying to conceive with my first husband. Cameron is my miracle and I thank God for him every day.
  22. I have worn my carry gun on me 24/7 for about two years now. When my son started being able to stand and "cruise" the furniture, I realized that I was going to have to make some changes with where my guns were kept. Before my son came along, I kept a loaded gun in every room of the house and on the headboard of my bed at night. With a small child in the house, all that had to change. I firmly believe in being able to protect myself and now even more importantly, my son. So I decided that the only way to have immediate access to a loaded gun, and know that my son can't get to it, is to have my gun on me at all times. I think the safes are a good idea.....I have one that I keep my extra guns in.....but if someone busts in my door in the middle of the night, I'm not going to have time to get my gun out of the safe. I want it on me and ready to go at all times. So.....I sacrifice comfort for safety and security. I use my belly band at night and it's really not that uncomfortable. I also keep my Winchester Defender .12 gauge up on a very high shelf, hidden from view, with no shell in the chamber, loaded with 00 buckshot......just in case I need a little more firepower
  23. I started hunting with my dad at 4 years old. That's when he first taught me how to shoot.....while we were on our squirrel hunting trips.....with a Winchester model 94 .22 lever action rifle. I killed my first deer at 11 years old......and many, many more since that. Hunting has always been as much of a tradition in my family as guns and shooting are. I used to hunt for a while with a compound bow also.....never had much luck with that though.....only bagged one doe in about three seasons with the bow. I can shoot a bow very well.....it was just too hard to get close enough to the deer to make a good shot. I prefer a .12 gauge loaded with slugs! I haven't hunted in about 4 years now. When I got pregnant with my son I had to give it up.....temporarily that is. I'm looking forward to taking my son hunting and sharing all the great experiences with him that I had with my dad. My husband doesn't hunt or shoot......so this will completely be a mother/son thing for me and Cameron. I just hope that he'll enjoy it as much as his mommy does! I'm going to teach Cam how to shoot this summer......with a red ryder bb gun. I hope to move up to a .22 rifle by next summer
  24. Nancy, Have you found a good way to carry your G26 yet?
