  1. I carry into my doctor's office. Usually I just go in for routine bloodwork or prescription refills.....so most of the time doc doesn't even touch me. If I think he'll have to listen to my chest or check me in some other way that would reveal my gun, I just take it off after the nurse takes me back into the exam room and put it in my purse......guess that wouldn't work for the guys though......unless you carry a 'murse' or a fanny pack!
  2. Congrats Angel! Let us know how your trip to Wally World was! If you don't mind me asking....how do you plan on carrying (IWB, OWB, belly band, etc.)?
  3. Try out a belly band. They're fairly inexpensive and work with any type of clothing. They're also very comfortable and conceal the gun nicely. You can find several different brands on ebay.....I prefer the ones that have a thumb strap that holds the gun in more securely. My next suggestion would be a fanny pack......most of the guys on here think they're a bit gay but they work quite nicely for us women!
  4. +1 !!

  8. Congrats Mrs.S!! I have the same gun (ultra-lite) and I love it ALMOST as much as my Glock 27 I rotate between the two for carry. Good choice!

  10. Hi Lucky, glad to have you here with us! Welcome to TGO!
  11. Spend $500 more and get a Cub Cadet. They are built tough and made to last. They have actual grease fittings that you can grease regularly, they are made with steel instead of plastic, and they ride nice and smooooooth instead of bouncing you around like a broncin bull......and the hydrostatic transmissions are just plain awesome!
  12. Any gun with a safety, lets take a 1911 for example, requires the same basic movement as popping the saf-t-blok out of a glock. Any gun with a built in safety would also require the user to have to think about and remember to release the safety......which would require practice with the weapon until releasing the safety becomes a natural process. It's the same thing when you use a saf-t-block in your glock. Sure, you definitely need to practice releasing the saf-t-blok when you draw your weapon until it becomes second nature.......just as you would practice releasing the safety on a 1911.
  13. Thanks for the tips girls! Cameron is definitely in his "terrible toddlers" right now and I could use all the advice I can get! Okay, here's a new question for everyone: Is there any doubt in your mind about whether you would be able to pull the trigger in a self defense situation? I have no doubt whatsoever that I could and would pull the trigger if I had to. However, I've been shooting and hunting just about my entire life. I'm curious as to what you gals that are "newbies" to guns and shooting think about this.
  14. Awesome, that guy needs to join us here at TGO! I think I'll send him an email and invite him to check us out......
  15. Now there's a good idea! I may have to paint mine
  16. +1 !!!!! I completely agree with Mike.357 I'm one of the one's that carry concealed and just ignore the signs and 'fly under the radar" all the time. I've had a carry permit for over 10 years with not one issue anywhere. Kwik, you really need to reconsider your options and think about what you're doing.
  17. What's wrong with Mullets or Jean Shorts? Nothing wrong with a fanny pack either. Really, who gives a flying **** about what other people think of you anyway? The most important things are #1 - carrying a gun, #2 - Being comfortable doing so
  18. Yes, that's a Saf-T-Blok behind the trigger in that glock. I carry my G27 in my belly band or in a fanny pack with a Saf-T-Blok behind the trigger. It works great and I like it. I had to draw fast the other day when I was walking on my property.....a mean growling/barking dog approached me rather quickly and I had no problem drawing and 'popping' out the Saf-T-Blok before the dog got to me......I just fired in the ground right in front of the dog and he ran away. It takes less than half a second to pop the thing out of there.....the worst part was finding it in the leaves and brush afterwards!
  19. I would LOVE to go see Indiana Jones!!! I just don't think Cameron would sit through it Question (Help me out here mama's!): How do you deal with a three year olds temper tantrums? I'm having such a hard time with Cam right now! He has these tantrums where he stomps his feet and screams when he doesn't get what he wants. I tried the ignoring thing.....he just keeps going like the energizer bunny......and I usually give in to some degree or sometimes distracting him works too. Should I spank him when he does this? That would be easy enough at home......but then sometimes he'll do it in public and I won't spank in front of people....people are so screwed up these days and you never know who'll call DCHS on you for spanking your own child. Anyone have any ideas?
  20. Welcome to TGO Mags! Good to have another woman onboard! You should join us in the "Let's Get to Know Eachother" thread in the women's section...we've all been having fun with that one.
