Ok, I have to catch up! Favorite food to eat out: Anything with chicken & pasta at Olive Garden! Favorite Animal: Dogs, I have 9 Favorite Time of Year: Fall! I love the cool nights and beautiful colors! Favorite thing my husband does for me: Massages my neck and shoulders What I'd tell graduating ladies: Same as Mrs.S, financial independence Sexiest Actor: It's a tie between Russell Crowe and Paul Walker (BobbyZ) Death Penalty: Absolutely for it, eye for and eye, tooth for a tooth, life for a life.......I think they should go back to public hangings myself! I'm with Angel too.....do it as soon as the sentence is handed down. Why should our tax dollars keep them fed, clothed, and housed for 18 years? Do I smoke: No, but I used to on occasion, quit when I got pregnant. Should 4 year olds be mandated to go to pre-k: No, I think it should be the parents choice. Personally, I think I will send Cameron to preschool when he's 4 next fall. He's an only child and I think the interaction with other kids will be good for him and might prepare him better for kindergarten. Question: What's you're favorite website, besides here of course! Mine would have to be ebay! I'm an ebayaholic!!

Is there a new gun in your future plans?
PackinMama replied to PackinMama's topic in Women's Perspectives
Meeting up would be fun! My problem is that I don't have a babysitter for Cameron since his daddy is away working right now. Meeting for lunch or something like that would work because I could just bring him along......but I couldn't go shooting with him. -
When I was a youngster my friends and I would get several cases of Little Kings and pound them. They were pretty good to my recollection. Much easier to pound a 7 oz. bottle than a 12 too! btw, I always hung around with a bunch of guys. Not too many (none actually) girls shared my love of shooting and fishing (and partying )!

Wow, I worked at Child World for four years, which was right next to Randhurst. I lived within walking distance to Randhurst. They tore down Child World and put in a Home Depot. I don't know what happened to Randhurst, I haven't been up there in over 15 years. I actually never heard about the bomb shelter! Or the air conditioning! That's pretty cool though!!

My nephew that just got married was very close to me when I lived up there. I taught him how to shoot and fish.....yes, I was young, but I started very young myself. I tried to instill the love of the country life into him, but I failed miserably! He's the biggest city boy you've ever seen. He came down to Southern Illinois (lived there for a few years before settling here) and lived with me while going to SIU for a couple years. He hated the country and finally quit SIU and went back up to Chicago. To each his own I suppose.

Mike, yes the bluesmobile was a Mount Prospect police car. Very cool

Mike and TDR, I know what you guys mean! I left at 21 years old and have never looked back. Way too many people for me. I like the quite country life and being able to have my own little peace of property to hunt, shoot, camp, fish, have livestock, etc., etc. I still have family up there too, a lot actually. My favorite nephew's wedding was yesterday, and I'm the only one in the whole family that didn't go. He's a fireman and it was a BIG wedding too....firetrucks, bagpipes, the whole 9 yds. I just had no desire to drive up there with my 3 year old son and deal with all the traffic and people.....not to mention I was sick all weekend anyway,
-
TDR, cool, you're from Chicago too. I grew up in Mount Prospect.
-
Mike, Are you from the Chicago area? I grew up there, in the Northwest Suburbs.....I remember going to grayslake on occasion too. I remember the Old Style too, yuck!! My dad always drank either Augsberger (not made anymore I don't think) or PBR.... to both of those too! The Bud Ice is hard to drink but for some reason the Light version is very smooth and drinkable.
-
Mike.357 and Eyebedam, I like you guys! I think it would be a lot of fun to get together with either/both of you and have a couple beers (Bud Lite Ice is my brew of choice) and do some safe and non-reckless plinking!! (Without children around of course) I just got to read through this post after being sick for a couple days. Mike, I applaud you for not getting into it with Warbird. Looking back, I wish I'd have done the same in the "mods so why then" thread. I actually lost more than one friend over that one.

I was just curious if any of you girls have any future gun buying plans? Is there a particular gun or type of gun that you have your eye on? I am currently looking for an old Winchester model 12 pump shotgun. My dad had one that I used to deer hunt with when I was a kid and I'd like one for sentimental reasons. I'd also like to get a .22 target pistol of some sort, I'm thinking a Browning Buckmark, for my son to learn how to shoot handguns with. That will be at least a couple years, so I have some time on that one. Anyone else have that special gun in mind?

I had my battle earlier today, thanks anyway

That's funny Rabbi! I'm just having fun here, no hard feelings from me toward anyone. I'm a very laid back, non-violent, easy going individual. I love this board and like I stated previously, Tungsten does a great job running it and I'm grateful to be a part of the community. Everyone always ribs others for fun on here.....we're just playing around and having a good time. However, I will not sit back and let another member talk to me like Dixie did in this thread and not respond. Dixie, if you'd like to talk to me feel free to pm me and maybe we can sort this out like adults......and maybe even shake hands and come out smiling
-
I think we all know which of the two of us needs to "Grow Up." Take your own advice there Dixie..."Don't like it, don't play."
-
You know what "Babe?" You've been upset ever since I did join this board and it's been pretty obvious by your comments to some of my posts. Before I joined, it seemed like you were the top female poster on here.....I actually think you're a little upset that there are more females posting now. You think you're the only one that can post what you think on here? I don't think it works that way honey. When a few of us ladies were asking for a womens section, you had to jump in and say basically that you could take it or leave it......obviously you've left it. You've never posted in that section to my recollection. I am free to post whatever I want on here and comment on anyone elses comments....just as you are. About the icon thing.....what do you think the icons are for, decoration? :drama::D:D:p:p:p

I like the Brownings myself. I also love the old Colt Woodsmans.

Hurray for David Cook!!! I'm so glad he won What state other than TN? I think I'd like to live in Montana too......although Idaho would be a close second. Question: What's your favorite book?
-
I definitely don't think it's right.....but like Mike said, it's not our party, we're just guests. Personally, I think the off-topic section should just be removed completely since so many rules and regulations are being placed on what we can and cannot talk about there. Seems like any topic is fair game until someone gets their feathers ruffled and complains to the mods. Hey Tungsten, how do I cancel my membership? Just kidding! Tungsten, I think you do a great job running this place. I don't agree with you on this one, but that's the great thing about this forum......we all have different opinions and we don't have to agree to still be friends
-
That's what I thought too Rabbi
-
Hey, is it ok to talk about FREEDOM OF SPEECH on here????? Or are too many people too sensitive to that subject as well? Get over it guys! If you don't like a topic, stay the **** away from it and let the rest of us have a discussion! Just my .02.

Well welcome back Diane! I was wondering where you'd been! My favorite movie would have to be "Catch and Release." If any of you girls haven't seen that one, check it out! It's awesome! Question: The American Idol Final result show is tonight!! Which David would you like to see win? I like them both very much and it should really be a tie.......but I think David Archuletta will win. I personally prefer David Cook because I prefer the harder rock that he does and I think he's extremely cute too!
