  1. I have to agree with Target on the Glocks. Glocks are the most accurate, best shooting, and most reliable guns out there.....at least in my opinion (and a LOT of other folks too!) But I would urge you to take a look at the G23 (compact .40) and G27 (sub compact .40) before you decide on a 9mm. 9mm's are a little cheaper to shoot but the .40 is just as much fun and they pack a bigger punch if you're wanting it for home defense and/or carry. I have a G23 and love it, but have actually been thinking about picking up a G36.....it's a .45 but it has a single stack magazine so it is much slimmer than the rest of the Glocks. Just my
  2. What a great idea.....I might have to try that one!
  3. I have that dvd....haven't watched it yet but definitely will......I'll let you know what I think soon
  4. I thought they were funny......I'd like to put one in my front yard
  5. Tower, that's funny, I thought the same exact thing myself......but, I don't want to cause trouble in the family.......my little boy loves to see his Pop Pop every Sunday. I am planning on doing some research to find some stories about people that were legally armed who used their weapon to defend themselves or others......ever here of John Lott? I need to find some of his stats to show the old man too.
  6. Thanks Dixie, I will show him that when he comes over next Sunday....but I doubt it will do any good. Once he makes his mind up on something that's it...no changing it.
  7. Welcome to TGO Let me warn you though.....this forum can be addicting!!
  8. Awesome Welcome Shelli!! Good to see another female on here!! Do you have the gun you're planning on carrying already?
  9. Sure wish I could get high speed! I live about three miles outside of Verizon's coverage area......or anyone else's for that matter! I used to love to play Ultima Online several years ago.....then the game got so popular and crowded that my slow connection just couldn't keep up anymore. I can only connect at 26,400 with my 56k modem. I can't watch any video and it takes soooooooooo long for pages to load:( I am jealous
  10. Don't worry guys, I like this place....think I will stick around....even though some of you gave me a hard time on this one! My grandfather-in-law came over yesterday and I got into a fairly heated debate about gun control with him and used the same info to support my side. He's a stubborn old coot though and he's always right no matter what (I'm sure you all have at least one of those in your family:))! Even though he has my 30/30 rifle loaded and ready at his place in case of trouble......he still believes that gun control would deter violent crime. He thinks if more people become legally armed, there will be a lot of them that use their guns illegally.....How stupid is that?!! Got to give him a break though I guess...he's 80 years old and hard headed as a rock:D.
  11. I quit when I found out I was pregnant in 2004. I still crave a cigarette every morning when I'm drinking my coffee....then I think about my dad. He was a coal miner and a lifetime smoker and passed away from copd. He was on oxygen for several years before he passed and was basically confined to the house for his last two years. My dad was an avid outdoorsman all his life and it pains me to this day to think about how he was stuck in the house those last years. COPD is a terrible thing to die from. Cigarettes are just not worth the price they'll cost you....now and epecially later in life. Don't give in to your cravings Dixie it gets easier with time
