  1. Guns&Dobes, I've never heard of Matewan. My dad and mom were born somewhere outside Whitesville.....have you heard of that? I always heard them talk of Edwhite, Ameagle, Naoma, Rock Creek.....still have a bunch of relatives up there. My whole family history as far back as we can trace is from that area. I was the youngest of four kids and I was the only one born after they moved to Illinois......so I guess if you want to get technical I suppose I'm a yankee by birth When my dad retired, they moved back down here and I came with them. I've always been a redneck at heart though! Nice looking guns btw!

  4. I learned how to shoot handguns as a kid with my dad's revolvers. I love wheelguns and they are great fun to shoot! I have been receiving a lot of criticism on this forum lately for expressing my love of Glocks .....so I just wanted to share a pic of my three favorite revolvers to show you guys I do like other guns too! The old Colt .357 was my dad's carry gun when he was an armed security gaurd back in the 70's in Chicago (no, he was not a yankee.....just moved there from W VA to get a better job than the coal mines). I like my King Cobra too.....but it doesn't shoot near as good as that old Colt!!! The old one is sooooooo smooth and accurate....really sweet gun!
  5. I am going to get that book.....and maybe a couple others too. Thanks Dixie!
  6. Thanks jackdog! That's some great info and will be good support for debating with anyone opposed to owning/carrying guns
  7. Got some anti Glockers here ehhh? :p:D Hey, I'm pretty new to this forum.....could somebody please tell me what the kool-aid thing is???

  12. I have to agree with Target on the Glocks. Glocks are the most accurate, best shooting, and most reliable guns out there.....at least in my opinion (and a LOT of other folks too!) But I would urge you to take a look at the G23 (compact .40) and G27 (sub compact .40) before you decide on a 9mm. 9mm's are a little cheaper to shoot but the .40 is just as much fun and they pack a bigger punch if you're wanting it for home defense and/or carry. I have a G23 and love it, but have actually been thinking about picking up a G36.....it's a .45 but it has a single stack magazine so it is much slimmer than the rest of the Glocks. Just my
  13. What a great idea.....I might have to try that one!
  14. I have that dvd....haven't watched it yet but definitely will......I'll let you know what I think soon
  15. I thought they were funny......I'd like to put one in my front yard
  16. Tower, that's funny, I thought the same exact thing myself......but, I don't want to cause trouble in the family.......my little boy loves to see his Pop Pop every Sunday. I am planning on doing some research to find some stories about people that were legally armed who used their weapon to defend themselves or others......ever here of John Lott? I need to find some of his stats to show the old man too.
  17. Thanks Dixie, I will show him that when he comes over next Sunday....but I doubt it will do any good. Once he makes his mind up on something that's it...no changing it.

  23. I could think of a couple places
  24. Sure wish I could get high speed! I live about three miles outside of Verizon's coverage area......or anyone else's for that matter! I used to love to play Ultima Online several years ago.....then the game got so popular and crowded that my slow connection just couldn't keep up anymore. I can only connect at 26,400 with my 56k modem. I can't watch any video and it takes soooooooooo long for pages to load:( I am jealous
