  2. Yeah, I really didn't think I'd like shooting it that way.....but I was pleasantly surprised when I did. It's much less noticable under my shirt now. I do have two extra mags with +1 extensions that I carry on me for backups.....along with a 13 rd. from my G23 that I keep in my purse So does anyone know about the nicks/cuts in the edge of the brass casing rim? I'd really like to hear from someone on this. I'm no gunsmith by a long shot, but I imagine it's the extractor making these marks......I'd just like to know if it's normal or not.
  3. Well......I shot 100 rounds with no problems. I replaced my Pearce extensions with the Glock factory baseplates and I actually like shooting my 27 without the extensions. My pinky curls up nicely under the mag and it feels good, plus it makes the gun more concealable. I did notice something on all my spent casings that I'm curious about. On the brass rim of the casings on the primer end, there's a nick or cut on the edge of the rim. Does anyone know if this is normal or should I be concerned?

  7. I carry 24/7. Only take it off to shower, and then it's within reach. That's not paranoid, that's prepared. It doesn't matter where you live, there are bad people and bad things going on everywhere. Even out here in the hills, crack and meth labs are common. People on drugs (or wanting more drugs) can make some pretty irrational decisions. I choose to have the ability to protect myself and my family at all times, at home and away from home. If some of you think that's paranoid, that's fine by me. I'd rather be called paranoid than unprepared.
  8. I was just wondering how susceptible are bullets to moisture? I carry 24/7 and especially in the hot summer when I'm outside, I do a lot of sweating. Since I carry mainly in a belly band, my gun inevitably gets wet with persperation. Will this affect my bullets? I keep good quality factory JHP's in my guns.

  12. Welcome to TGO Neighbor! I live in the hills of Cocke Co. too
  13. Wow......that's not a good thought at all. I don't even know how to respond to that one.
  14. I know that Mars LOL Just thinking about situations when you're pants wouldn't be covering it and you need to bend your waist....like when you go to the bathroom for instance. Unlike the gents, us ladies can't stand up to do that
  15. Good quote Grout +1. Something to think about.
  16. Hmmmmmm.....that smart carry looks comfortable!! I might have to check into that one myself! I notice it doesn't have a thumb strap though......what prevents the gun from falling out when you bend over?

  21. I had to go to Knoxville Center mall last weekend to get a new pair of glasses. I hadn't been there in a couple years as I try to stay away from K-town as much as possible. It was horrible! I felt like a duck out of water in that place. There were so many shady, "gang banger" looking types walking around mostly in small packs. I was carrying my .38 five shot snubbie and was with my son and elderly mother. I felt severely underarmed!!! I was actually thinking about what I would do if someone started shooting. I decided then that taking cover and/or getting my family out of there would be #1. If I thought I could get off a clean shot(s) after taking cover I would do it if I had to. I got home and kept thinking about that 5 shot......I'd rather have it than nothing of course.....but 5 shots is just not comforting enough for me these days with all this shooting going on everywhere. I am now carrying my Glock 27 and will be from now on. My husband thinks I'm crazy (he's not into guns at all).......but I bet he'd change his tune fast if we were ever in a situation where a gun was needed to protect us and our son.
  22. This is why I like to shoot on private property! Plus, it's more fun shooting "stuff" than a target any day
  23. Welcome to TGO Nancy!!! It's great to have another female member on here! There aren't too many women on the site (less than 10 that I know of) so it's a pleasure to welcome you aboard! I live south of Morristown about 15 miles......not too far from Bean Station. I also have Glocks, a 23 and a 27. I just started carrying the 27......I was carrying a .38 snubbie prior to the 27. This is a great site! There are lots of good helpful people here and a ton of great information. Welcome and Enjoy!
  24. I live about 15 miles south of Morristown and we've got about two inches this morning. It's the most we've had all year. I'm not even finished with my first cup of coffee and my 3 yr. old son keeps saying he wants to go outside and build a "snowman family." That's my boy.....big ambitions! I guess after my coffee I'll have to take him outside......maybe we'll build a miniture snowman family
