  1. All I can say is I'm glad I have a boy instead of a girl
  2. Target, I've been shooting guns of all shapes and sizes since I was 4 years old so that means I've been shooting guns 12 years longer than you've been alive My son WILL start with a red ryder...probably this summer. Then after we learn the basics with that, we will move up to a .22 rifle with a scope, probably by next summer. Then, at five years old, he will learn to shoot a handgun.....which will be a .22. What's the matter Target? Didn't you get to start shooting REAL GUNS until you were in your teens? I think that you should base when to let your children shoot real guns on their maturity level......so maybe you got a late start in that department ehhh?
  3. Hey guys.....maybe you can help me decide which pistol I should buy for my little boy. I want to get him a .22 for his first handgun. I have a couple years before he's ready for one since he's only three now......but I'd like to know which model might be good for a boys first pistol? Ruger maybe? What do you think? That Sig looks nice.....but I'd like something with a longer barrel I think....a little more long range accuracy maybe? But I also want dependability too....not a gun that jams all the time. I used to have a beautiful Colt Woodman from the 40's that my dad gave me......that gun would have been perfect for him, but my home burned down in 1995 and I lost that gun along with a Glock 17, two shotguns, and a Winchester Model 94 .22 rifle...oh, and my dad's 1970's Bear Recurve bow (just like the one they have in the movie Deliverance)
  4. Raising my 3 yr. old, fishing, shooting, hunting, hiking, taking care of my animals......nine dogs, two cats, two arabian horses, and a smelly old goat (no, I'm not talking about my husband )
  5. Full Time Mom and Homemaker......and head of security

  22. I usually dealt with either Leo or an older gent named Kelly....he was really nice too. Kelly went on to work at the other gun shop in Morristown, Smoky Mountain Outfitters....but I'm not sure if he still works there or not. The last couple times I went in there I didn't see him. I think I remember Jim.....he was an older tall skinny fellow with glasses? He was nice, but Leo gave me better deals:cool: And Bill......was he the heavier guy with the awesome black GTO? I really miss going in there.....Leo always had a new gun he would take out and show me. Now that I am older and have a 3 year old, I don't get to go shooting (or buy more guns) like I used to. I'll keep that Tazwell gun shop in mind though if I'm ever in the market for a new gun;) The guys at Smoky Mountain Outfitters are pretty cool too I have to say. I bought a new Taurus Multialloy .38 there when I had my last one stolen:mad: and they let me load it and put it on before I left the shop.
  23. Hey everyone.....I was just wondering if any of you used to frequent Leo's Sporting Goods in Morristown? I bought quite a few guns from Leo and used to just go in there just to chat with him too. Leo is a great guy and his shop is now closed. I heard the feds closed him down for something....not sure on the details. I'd love to say hello to him if I knew where to find him. Anybody know anything?
  24. Model 94 Winchester lever action .22 and a 1940's model Colt Woodsman. I didn't get rid of these by choice. My home burned down in '95 and I lost several guns along with these two They were both given to me by my dad, who passed away a few years ago. My dad taught me how to shoot at four years old with that .22 Winchester, and the Woodsman was in perfect beautiful condition and was so much fun to shoot. Sure wish I had those today:(
