  1. OK, I'll be the oddball here. I carry 10:00 o'clock. No worries about shirt riding up (printing) and easily accessible, even when driving in a vehicle. The only problem I have is slight poking in the ribs when sitting which is easily fixed with a little adjusting.
  2. I wanted to add, that out of the blue the other day my dad asked me about how to go about getting him a permit. I wasn't positively sure that he knew I had one. Kinda made me feel good.
  3. Ditto. That reminds me when my parents came to my graduation years ago, I actually stood beside my mom for a while and she didn't even recognize me. Semper Fi
  4. Thats what happened to me last year by my vindictive wife with no fault whatsoever by me, exept it was an Order of protection. It said I couldn't have any weapons at all. I gave them to my dad to hold till it got dismissed. BTW, the divorce may finally be finalized this month.
  5. I've always had guns. I was in the military. I've owned anything from an AK, SKS, mossberg shotgun, all kinds of pistols, bolt actions, 22 plinkers, and even a member at a range years ago, so I'm no stranger to owning and using them. I'll be honest, about 6-7 years back, I saw a guy in a restaurant carrying. Not sure if he had a permit or not, and it made me feel a bit uneasy, but I didn't go running out of the store or make a scene. I guess over the years after seeing the way things are going with this country and doing a little research about the laws I finally took the course. The main event that took me over the edge was the Shannon Christian kidnapping in Knoxville.
  6. I guess I'm still indefinately deferred. I wonder what they did with my blood for all the years I gave before they came out with this deferral?? I may call them anyway and see what they mean by "Certain Parts of Europe". Travel Outside The US and Canada Indefinite Deferral: United Kingdom - spent 3 months cumulatively from 1980 - 1996; or Europe - spent 5 years or more since 1980; or Associated with U.S. Military in certain parts of Europe for 6 months or more between 1980 - 1996 Certain African countries since 1977 - indefinite Deferral if 3 months stay or longer Malarial endemic areas - 1 to 3 year Deferral http://medicblood.com/newdonor.shtml
  7. It shouldn't be a problem for the rest of us if it isn't posted even if you were informed by them not to carry. BTW, what are the requirements to give plasma? I used to give blood every year but was denied about 5 years back because of a new rule. I was in Europe in the service during certain years and there was supposedly a mad cow outbreak at that time and have been denied to give blood since. Does this apply to plasma too??
  8. I was a little leery at first with my mp compact without any external safety but it quickly went away. I carry 11:00 o'clock and crossdraw also. I have never carried without one in the chamber.
  9. I think 1/3 the size is pretty generous. I was thinking about 1/4 to 1/5 the size of the one at the Jacob building near the zoo. I'll probably go anyways since I only live about 1/2 mile from there and got a dollar off coupon.
  10. Some of you'ns have already seen it, but click my link below to see me play a banjo.
  11. Already been done by guess who... yes Commercial Appeal and posted on Knoxnews.com http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2009/mar/10/no-headline---031009gunsbox/
  12. I actually thought Hugh Willetts article was well written. He had another article also. http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2009/mar/10/highest-concentration-of-permits-in-north-knox/ It was not anti-gun. His subtitle even said "Gun carriers most law-abiding, expert says". I would like to know what the lawmakers think about Rick Locker from commercial appeal now that they were singled out and published all their names with HCP's. http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2009/mar/10/no-headline---031009gunsbox/
  13. You can even eat at a restaurant that serves beer in Kentucky as long as 1/2 of revenue comes from food sales. Imagine the owners face when you ask him for sales records.
  14. Good choice. I love my M&P9c. Still looking around for a good pocket gun though. I'm wondering what you all were doing up at 3:30 in the morning though.
  15. Same here. I see they updated it.
  16. Isn't all this the same thing permit holders did in Virginia or Kentucky?? How did their outrage turn out??
  17. I really liked this part.
  18. Mines about 6 monthes old and is NOT on there. I did see that my old preacher is packing though. :-)
  19. For a sec there I thought this was something new, but it's not. You still have to have some sort of pistol training or qualification from the military not more than 5 years out from your discharge. If you qualify, the only thing different you have to do different than anybody else is not have to take the HCP course.
  20. Of course to know how to fold it also. My 7 & 9 yo already know how to fold the flag and it's other ettiquettes.
  21. Have you all seen this video? Chokes me up everytime I see it. [ame] [/ame]
  22. I agree with all of them except the last one. I think the last one should read "authorizes anyone who possess a handgun carry permit to carry a firearm under same circumstances and conditions as law enforcement officers and correctional officers." Why should judges be singled out ?
