    New M&P

Congrats...your gonna like it. You might also want to join us over at http://mp-pistol.com/ as well. Also don't forget to send in for your $50 rebate and 2 free mags. http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CustomContentDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10001&catalogId=11101&content=49802&sectionId=10002
  3. Runs fine for me...and it runs fine on my macs as well. It ain't perfect, but I find I use it more than Firefox on both platforms.

    Subcompact 9MM

+1 Probably got old stock. The M&P's are quietly showing up ALOT in IDPA, and are winning over a lot of Glock guys. Give them a good look. Even if the pistol isn't perfect, S&W's customer service is amazing...and they will pay for your shipping to and from the factory and will replace just about anything. The M&P compact seems to fit into alot of Glock 26 holsters as well.
  5. I thought it was "all terrain," and I think they have moved to ATS "all terrain shotgun"...at least it appears that way on the mossberg site. Im not 100% on this though
  6. For those obsessed with ballistics should read and periodically re-read (to satisfy the obsession), “Handgun Wounding Factors and Effectiveness†by Urey Patrick of the FBI FTU, I think its really the best discussion of the wound ballistic requirements of handguns used for self-defense. Its long, but it is a treat... http://www.firearmstactical.com/hwfe.htm
  7. Alright...so, I just had a tornado shelter installed, and am using that as an excuse to get a couple of new shotguns for it. Im a pistol and rifle guy..but shotguns...I only have one 500. I wanted to see who has had both the 500 and 870 series and can give their opinions on them. They both have relatively reliable receivers and have aftermarket parts up the wazoo. So please chime in! But only stick to the 500's or 870's. I know there are a lot of tacti-cool FN's and stuff out there...but I want part availability. So.....thoughts?
  8. and what pistol did you use to do that comparison?
  9. The two dealers I have talked to said around mid april hopefully. Im waiting to see one myself before getting a G26 for the girlfriend.

    Which 9mm to buy?

Ha! +1 Couldn't agree more. There are alot of good guns in the price range of the glock 19. That being said...the 19 is one of the most popular carry guns for a reason. Its no glory gun...but its reliable and will go bang when ya need it to. But if you have money to throw at it...send it to this guy.. http://www.bowietacticalconcepts.com/signatureglocks.html
  11. When I traded a pistol in over there, I saw it in the counter a week later with a tag that said "Like New" on it. I had told the owner that I carried it and it had 8500 rds through it. Glad I got a trade, but selling that as like new? They just cleaned it well I guess.
  12. They have a great selection...and they are nice guys over there. I wont give them an once of my business anymore though. I have walked out of there feeling ripped off a few times now. Some of their HK's are marked up 200-400 buck above what they go for elsewhere. I found out I paid MORE than full list on 2 of my pistols from there. Also if you have a defective product, the owner wont be of any help. "Just call the manufacture there's nothing I can do," is the response I got. Call me old school...but the customer service I was used to in california was they would at least pay for the shipping to the manufacturer on an out of the box defect. Then they ordered the wrong pistol for me once...the owner wanted to just swap parts to make it right, but had misinformed me that you could do certain things to it only for me to find out that you couldn't. Nope, they don't get my business anymore
  13. Keep in mind there is a lot of old technology still on the market...and most loads performance tends to vary from weight/pressure etc...even though they are the same product. Here is a post to choose from... http://www.tacticalforums.com/cgi-bin/tacticalubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=78;t=000964
  14. I guess I'm chiming in late on this thread...but as to what to pick...when it comes to carry guns I'd go with whatever your used to.(trigger type, grip angle, mag drop location, sights, etc.) When in an OS moment (Oh Sh#@!,) your brain is going to resort to whatever training you have. If you've trained with DAO striker type pistols then I'd stick to that. If you go to lets say a DA/SA type system...its a totally different setup then your used to...and that first pull will be drastically different. Going from an XD to a Glock...somewhat similar system...but drastic grip angle differences. There's more well made guns on the market than ever right now...lots to choose from...but my 2 cents...when it comes to carry guns...get whatever system your brain is used to.
  15. 1 extra 15 rd mag for the P30...if Im going into a known "bad area"..then possibly the bckp p2000sk on my ankle or in my Murse. Man Purse...as seen here http://www.uncrate.com/men/gear/misc-gadgets/jack-bauer-gear/
  16. Yes sure did thanks...that was the first order of business moving here. While it took me an arm and a leg to have a Commifornia one...I could carry just about everywhere though. Even disney land and such. Not being able to carry in restaurants and such though REALLY bugs here. Sufficient cause seems to vary from county to county. Keep in mind they have the states Department of Justice keeping "an eye" on CCW issuance. So you will have to jump through a lot of hoops...but it can be done in many counties. But a few you can forget about it...ie LA county...where you have to be a victim of a violent crime to even be considered:rolleyes: If you want info on all this... http://www.calccw.com/
  17. Hello everyone. I just recently moved here from the communist state of California. I cant tell you how happy I am as a gun owner to be out of there and back in the USA. You have a special "california approved" list of firearms that you are allowed to consider. You have to wait 10 days to get your firearm after you pay for it...(cool off period) as they call it. You may only purchase a single firearm from the list once every 30 days...and the 94 Ban never expired there..no mags above 10 rds, and no good rifles etc. Getting your CCW takes throwing yourself at the mercy of the county sheriff dept and giving them a "sufficient cause" to carry. There are no "right" to carry counties, and you may only register 3 firearms on your CCW that meet the list and have a minimum 4 lb trigger pull. That being said I love it here so far and am glad to be here. HK enthusiast, though I own other things too. Now...where do you guys go shooting around here? Murfreesboro is too far:)
  18. Pardon my ignorance...but is this for all members in the nashville area?
