  1. My small village has but one theater, Regal. What sign? Is there a sign?
  2. I had heard something along these lines. I am a state instructor and am a little appalled at this incident. I don't agree with the "because he shot himself he is a good instructor" theory. I have used/taught firearms since 1970 and have had one incident. It still embarrases me and I don't like sharing the incident, but I and no one else got injured.
  3. Was there an incident recently at Gun City. Anybody heard about anything unusual?
  4. I am with you Lester, a god blue job is worth it's weight!
  5. I need to refinish the receiver on an 1100 I just bought. The receiver has a few bad rust spots and some pitting here and there. I know it can't look perfect and I am ok with that, I just would like someone with the skills (hot blue) to do a job at a reasonable price. Am in south middle TN and do not want to drive to Memphis if you get my drift. Anybody know someone out there and maybe it's you? Thanks and Merry XMas!
  6. I like the Milt Sparks, I have three, two Versa Max. They are very good, well made holsters. I also like Kramer. SIG RCS Colt New Agent Aegis and Aegis Pro
  7. I have a three inch Kimber totally reliable. My favorite is my SIG RCS, comander length with Oficers grip. Excellent carry piece!

    Glock Vs 1911

Besides, as a former Para owner, I know you will lose relaibility! I don't carry a Glock, but I have a lot of experience with them and I gotta say, they are nearly flawless. Am researching to get the 33.
  9. I too had an EMP. It took several hundred rounds to break in, but did get there. Also had slide stop problems and SA fixed and sent extra mag or two. I really liked the pistol, but thought the night sights looked cheap. Also thought the frontstrap should be checkered for the price. All in all I liked it, but prefer my Aegis.
  10. I have a CDP pro carry II and an Aegis. Both are great weapons. I had a small problem with the Aegis slidestop, but otherwise. Kimber, like other manufacturer has pistols with problems. The cost are pretty high, but have you looked into getting say a SA "Loaded" model checkered on the front strap, melt down for carry, night sights etc. IMHO, prices are relative unless you can do some of these things yourself.
  11. I carry Extreme Shock Air Freedom rounds in my PM9. Look on their website, mighty powerful stuff. I've ripped some heavy duty wet phone books with this stuff. Not terribly useful against say a windshield, it is frangible, but carry Golden Sabre in the spare. Look it up...
  12. I tried one once and got rid of it in a hurry. It does take some getting used to and it is quite a bit slower on the draw as compared to an IWB of good quality. Also, if you are a person with a little extra girth, if you know what I mean, this holster doesn't work so good. Just IMHO....
  13. Hey DavidH, you can buy a gun in Huntsville, but it must be shipped to an FFL in Tennessee. Have done it at Larry's. Who has the LCP for under $250?
  14. I plan to be there. I know Joe and feel like he will do everything in his power to make this effort worthwhile!
  15. The mag you speak of is made to fit the T9 (still works) and will stick out the bottom a little too much for my liking. As for the Pro Mags, I have had a couple that had questionable reliability. Used them for Range only! Also stick out a lot from the bottom.
  16. I had a 9mm in three inch. Great gun, hate I sold it! As a Ruger armorer, I found them easy to work on and very sturdy!
  17. Wow, will need to keep an eye on this. I have wanted a 238, but was concerned about quality. For now, I will stick with my Colt Mustang. Is it true the 238 accepts the Colt mags?
  18. I haven't seen any restaurants in this area with a ban posted. I typically do not go to Mexican, so would not have noticed the one mentioned. Have been to Al's a couple of times. Seem like real good folks. Hate it, but will be in Knoxville Saturday. You know, gotts support the team. Maybe will see some of you guys at Al's sometime or another.

    Taurus Slim

The "Slim" first noted in the Handguns magazine is NOT the same model finally released. The original was slated to be released 4th quarter 08 and in fact the newer, updated version, was realized early this year. the original looked much nicer to me. I have heard the "First" model had several "problems". Now the "New" version is out and I wonder about it's quality. I don't know about Taurus customer service as a person, they responded only half a** when we had several problems with their revolvers. I have had one Taurus in my life, I wanted a Slim in it's original design, but decided to pass whe I seen the final product. If you have a few hundred rounds through the gun, you are probably ok. I have always thought and told all my HCP classes that a Taurus is NOT a range gun. LOL
  20. Nice to see fellow Manchesterites. Welcome
  21. I have owned just about every type of Kahr out there. Large ones, medium ones, and yes, the small in the 9 and 40 editions. I have had a couple that had peening problems, one had the trigger assembly fall out while shooting. But mostly good experience with these guns. I currently carry as primary, the Black PM40. It has been flawless. The Tac models and the original PM models were having problems, but reading the GlockTalk Kahr reviews put me back into the PM version as they carry easy and have minimum recoil for a gun their size. I had a PM9 and liked it. These are nice guns.
  22. Going to the big city today. Will be toting HK P2000 in 40 tucked into an AKJ Concealco and my trusty PM40 as a bug.
  23. I am not fearful my mags will lose their strength, but I would change my mags every time there was a time change (dst to cst) used to be every six months or so, now I simply change them in spring and fall.
