BuckShot 140 Kentucky St. Jacksboro TN 37757 423-201-9121 M-F 9-6 Sat 9-12 Stopped in there and was manned with friendly people. Didn't have what I was looking for but was happy to order it. Great customer service. And the price was decent. By far the best prices in the area that I have found. Also they said offer transfers for $10.

I have one of the Talo Pink ones. Yeah yeah yeah. (I picked it up for $475 w/ 5 25 rnd & 2 10 rnd mags) Anyways. It has never let me down. About 4000 rounds through it not a problem.Mostly Federal and some CCI Blazer is what I've used. I have 5 25 round mags that I load and burn thru, then repeat. Just as on target with first shoot as with 125th shot. In a short range trip I can run 500 under 30 minutes and still go strong. So for the price I would jump on it. But I prefer the flash hider that I have compared to the non-flash model. A friend has the straight barrel (non-flash) and over 15,000 with only a few ammo related issues, not rifle related.

That clears it up for me. All the dealer said was it was thru the TBI which I was lost at since the NICS is FBI. Guess after I'm here awhile I'll figure things out. At least I don't have to get a "permit" to purchase a firearms or register it.

Yeah I would not want to deal with it unless it was a great amount. And yeah it's a $1300.00 AR I'm looking at. I'm not interested in making 2 trips to KY to get 1 gun to "save" a few bucks that I had to put in my tank.

Ok long story short. I just moved to Tennessee back in May. Did my class and got my HCP last month so I got all my stuff transferred over. Now I'm planning on buying my first gun from a FFL since I've been here. Before I moved here I purchased several guns from an FFL but it was a NICS check (and I was not charged for it). The FFL I'm talking to told me that it is a $10.00 fee for a TICS background check. (not a NICS but still form 4473) My question is what is the difference? ETA: I don't know how true this is since I'm relatively new to this great state. But I was talking to a guy at the range and he said that when he buys his long guns he goes up north to KY to buy due to the TICS system and cheaper sales tax. Like I said I don't know about that, I know how stories go. Thanks for the answers.

New regulations for postings? (Opinions)
williamsburg replied to Mdunntn's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
No. Leave it the way it is now. Just as there is a grey area for the poster there is also a grey area for us. Like said before, if its not seen then it doesn't exist. If it's changed and everyone must post a sign that is 12" x 12" in x color at x spot, then the grey area is gone. Conceal and it will never be an issue. -
Gun Store Robbery Attemp, -1 robber 2 injured....
williamsburg replied to JohnC's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I'm sure these fine upstanding young men were just innocent bystanders who were at the wrong place and time trying to help. This truck lost control and went through the business wall/doors and they were just trying to make sure nobody was hurt. That is when this guy charges them with his assault rifle with his high capacity magazine and opened fire. This is why these riflles and high capacity mags should be out lawed. This is George Bush's fault for letting the Cinton Era Ban expire. (Sarcasm implied above) But they play stupid games they win stupid prizes. Unforyunately the family will sue this guy/business. A guy was trying to rob a Kroger store in Indianapolis. The store manager had a pocket 380 and shot the bad guy. They settled out with the manager and they "seperated ways". Now this bad guys mother is sueing Kroger and the guy for wrongful death. What happened to being protected for defending yourself. Seems if you can get sued for defending yourself against the bad guy that either way it goes the bad guy winsand you always lose. -
I live in Campbell County outside of city limits(responding LEO would be County Sheriff). Is there any restrictions/hard times about getting a supressor here. I have heard of some places dragging you through the dirt and giving you a hard time about why you want one and all that. Anyone around here know what process is? Also anyone know of a local dealer? Internet Class III search only gave me middle and west TN dealers. Thanks.

This. They are both the same except the internals. They are this way due to the restrictions of some states. I've used both 10s and 12s in mine in the past. Thanks.

My written test was both multiple and t/f questions. VERY simple. I used my S&W M&P9c to qualify so the Ruger you have should be fine. It all depends on how you aim. Try to go to the range and test your ability to hit a target that far out, the aim techniques and so forth. Then when you get there for your testing you'll be calm. I would do as mentioned above if you have the ability, use a 22. Several people used one in my class. It's like using a moped/scooter for your motorcycle test, just makes it easier. But don't worry about the course in whole itself, it's easy as easy can be. When it was over I was thinking that I had to do this and pay for this to get my permit - what a joke. If you was close to me it could be done for $75. I'm sure you can find a course for that price close to you somewhere. Good luck.

I have a question about the OP. In Indiana you must notify them within 60 days after you move that you moved. It is around day 55-56. Is there a person to call or site to check for the status of my "transfer"? I don't want to do anything wrong where Indiana is concerned, but I also don't want to notify Indiana yet because once I do my VALID Indiana permit will become INVALID once I notify of address change. And I'm suppose to have a valid Permit to transfer to a TN HCP. Thanks.

Regulation signs or courtesy signs?
williamsburg replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Wow! This makes me wonder now. When I was doing my app for HCP I asked a LEO that was behind the counter at the Drivers Service Center what was off limits. He said state/fed buildings, schools and some parks and anyone posting Tenn. code restricting firearms. He said the law changed a while back and all other NO GUN signs were invalid. -

You could get something like this and run the cable around your seat frame or I would think you could mount it some how http://www.amazon.com/GunVault-NV300-NanoVault-Combination-Lock/dp/B003841ZBS/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1339125748&sr=1-1-catcorr

This is something I am not fond of doing. Unless I cannot take it somewhere that I would have to stop at. A few months ago there was some conflicts going on where I worked at and I carried my BodyGuard 380 with no problems. Nobody knew I did other than me and my wife. After the drama settled down I told my boss that I had. Turns out that he did the same with his LCP. But ultimately I would rather bend the rules a little bit for my safety. I mean after all I am the one who is responsible for my own safety. If you can't carry at work there are alternatives. Depending on your vehicle and locking compartments or concealment. CC is your friend and usually your best kept secret. Just my $.02

^^^^^^^ THIS EXACTLY I took a class over the weekend. The video was on DVD but was VHS quality. It looked like it was taped 10 years ago. After the video it was discussed that regardless of what the video says, this is how things are now. And the whole 4 hour class time and 4 hour range time thing, well .... I was back home not even 3 hours after leavinng for the all-day class. "class time" was about 1 hour 15 minutes and this included filing out paperwork. Range time was not even 25 minutes max. That was target up to target down. You have to know the answers to 21 out of 30 of the most common sense questions about guns/gun ownership. And out of 48 shots 30 must hit the target. It's just to get $$$$$$. The instructor's know this. It's just another .gov way of getting money from you. The average class is $75-$100 of course the instructor has to pay the state something. The original app fee $115. Renewal every 4 years $50. It's just money. money. money. But to be able to legally protect myself and my family, it's worth it. After the first 4 years it breaks down to $12.50/year.

Yeah that was one of the 'BIG' deals they made was my Indiana permit has no picture its just a pink piece of printing paper. That and Indiana has an option for a "Lifetime" permit. And they were making a big deal cuz it has no expiration date. Was just wondering cuz the lady was pretty insistant that someone from the big city(Nashville) would be calling. But she told me 90 days, I thought that was a long wait.

Went and did my app this morning. I was just wondering what all the process is? The lady at the service center was kind of lost being my permit was from out of state. All she said was it will arrive in the mail. I was wondering how long I will wait? And what happens now in the Tennessee process. Thanks in advance for any help.
