Yeah, the latest iteration of SOCOM was a huge disappointment for most of us old-schoolers. Zipper outsourced its development to a brand new company, and they really dropped the ball. It was so buggy at release, it was almost unplayable. To be honest, I haven't even logged on in months... I will be making some time for MW2 soon, though. I'm really looking forward to playing some Spec Ops co-op!

PSN handle = Seaslug23. I'm an old SOCOMer from way back, so I'm still trying to warm up to the COD series. I have yet to get online with MW2, but I will as soon as I can find the time to finish the campaign mode.

Bingo! On the LaRue "tall" mount. I just threw an H-1 (same thing, but with less submersion depth and no NV capability) with a LaRue "short" mount on my Saiga-12. Sweet action! Back on topic, I've been having a hard time deciding on a suitable VFG for my new Arsenal AK since it's got OD furniture, and LaRue doesn't make their FUG in OD (get on this Mark!). I think that I'm going to check out the AFG as soon as it's in stock, and I'll try to remember to report back here.

Wow. The ergonomics of this make perfect sense. I'm surprised no one thought of it sooner. I think you should be our guinea pig.

Hahaha. I'm just going by my own experience with the P30, but I think he was probably referring to the fact that the slide stop is so large, it forces the support thumb to come to rest on the frame somewhere just aft of the accessory rail. I love my P30, but I have to be very conscious of my grip for this very reason, because my strong hand thumb will sometimes engage the slide stop and prevent the slide from locking back on the last round. And yes, I DO have orangutan hands... ETA: I must type really slow. He even has a picture now...

P30-ish? Hell, that IS a P30...with a less-ergonomic grip! Of course, my Walther PPS is nothing more than a Glock 27 on SlimFast, so who am I to talk? At least the new P99 can't possibly cost more than the original design from which it was "borrowed" like my PPS did... And don't those folks at Walther have any of their own ideas anymore?

I'd be a little concerned with the fact that nowhere in the listing does the seller say it's a real LaRue, and the seller's location is hongkong, Hong Kong...

I actually agree with this line of thinking, as I think there will be a backlash from the state legislature. The next passage will have fewer (if any) concessions and less ambiguity. At least, I'm hoping that this will be the case. Still, what exactly does this mean for us in the interim? Is this effective immediately?

Just read this myself. WTF?

Today, it's my new Walther PPS .40 S&W in a Galco Ankle Lite... -
I would agree that Sony audio components don't have the best reputation, but their higher-end TV's have consistently been ranked among the best (among mass market stuff) in quality, features, and customer satisfaction for years. I still miss my old pre-digital WEGA's sometimes. Sounds like you've had a run of bad luck!
-
Yep. It sure does. I've got a 37" in my bedroom and a 32" in my little girl's room. They're not on par with the Sony SXRD I have as the centerpiece in my home theater setup, but they're awfully close. Best TV's I've ever owned for the money. To the OP, Vizio and Olevia were competing for the same market share, and Vizio is still around. Take that for what it's worth. Can you get a better LED? Sure. But you'll also pay 2-3 times as much for the same screen size. Also, keep in mind that this is Gen. 1 LED stuff, so the technology is just going to get better (and cheaper) over the next couple of years. I'd say go with the Vizio, and if a new must-have feature emerges in Gen. 2 or Gen. 3, you won't feel so guilty about wanting to upgrade. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

To be honest, none of us were paying much attention to him prior to his comment, and we paid even less than that afterward... On a brighter note, I sold 2 guns, but another one, bought lots of ammo (love seeing those Georgia Arms guys), and got lots of goodies for my RECCE conversion project. A big +1 for the guys at the J&T Distributing booth, btw!

It's not hilarious if that's actually your name! When the apocalypse comes, I'm liable to have every dyslexic zombie in East TN after my juicy, meaty butt!

I'll let you know when mine gets here next week. I ordered a 30-round Bulgarian waffle with it, and a couple of 40-rounders from another site. If I had to wager a guess though, I'd agree that it's probably the Tapco's...
-
You coming, too? And in an effort to stay somewhat on topic: Buy more liquor.
-
Oh, I figured as much. I wasn't picking on you, Mr. Sensitive. Promise!
-
Hey, at least you used the apostrophe correctly! And twice, to boot! Glad to see those flash cards are workin' out for ya'!
-
Neat idea, but don't use the third one. There is no apostrophe in the possessive form of "its". I hate that. Personal pet peeve. And yeah, I get made fun of a lot...
-
They don't have Saiga-12's on their site, dummy...
-
This is a really nice little store, guys. Caveman is a little scary, but you'll get used to him...

I like the 16" barrel with permanently-affixed brake, as it makes the gun much more suitable for maneuvering in tight quarters (and prettier ).Gas pressure is not really an issue at that length. You'd have to cut down below 14" to really start to see that effect--or so I was told by the smith. The aftermarket gas plug also helps, although it's important to point out that these guns were never intended to reliably cycle the really cheap stuff. Felt recoil is fairly stout, although less so than my Remington 870 pump. This also has as much to do with the skeletonized stock as anything. They make recoil pads for the stock I bought, and that might be a good solution for the girlfriend. A vertical foregrip of some sort is probably also a must. I haven't checked the 00 buck spread, but I can't imagine you'd see a marked difference from the 19" guns at home-defense range. Hope this helps. Oh, and congrats on the new home purchase!

Poak is right. There was a recall, but it's all been sorted out now. I have the Tapco G2 FCG in my conversion, and it does its job well. I think you'll find that this is the preferred setup for most who do conversions.

Those are actually 5.56x45mm, rather than 5.45x39mm...
