I have no idea of any issue you may have gotten yourself into, but as far as I'm concerned, it takes some real guts to come on TGO and man-up about your faults. Yes, mine has a cover. It's a thin piece of metal covered in cloth-type material.

I could be wrong, but I think TGO Staff may be a TGO User ID created by David. I noticed the same thing as you; some forums list only TGO Staff as the Moderator, and some list actual Moderators along with TGO Staff.

If you click on the forum, scroll to the bottom right area of the page. It lists the Mods of that forum. As far as a "list", I don't know about that.

As far as a good smith in the Middle Tennessee area, you should visit Guns and Leather in Greenbrier. As far as the action goes, maybe you could start buy polishing with a Dremel.

I owned a DW CBOB 10mm for a short time, and I was very impressed with the fit, finish and overall quality. I wasn't $1500 impressed, though. I know there are a few very nice 1911's at the high end of the pricing spectrum, but I've never been impressed enough to drop that kind of bank on one of them, either.
