Well, whatever the reason, it wasn't necessary, but the gesture is very much appreciated, nonetheless. And for your information, I am accepting this Benefactor status under protest.

I have no idea who you are, but you do. The gesture did not go unnoticed, and it is very much appreciated. Thank You!

Nothing. Life is wonderful, and I'm far better than I deserve.

FYI, you can purchase extra HCP's for a very reasonable price. Keep an extra in each vehicle and anywhere else you may need one.

Michelle Obama and the Shorts Heard Round the World

Must have been a slow news day? No soldiers died today? -
Yes, if you have a TN HCP, you are allowed to carry a firearm. There are no MTA regulations preventing you from doing so. Of course, they would prefer you CC, rather than OC. They would rather that other riders not be alarmed by the sight of a gun. Silly, yes, but that's the type of society we happen to live in at the moment.

Anyone got a line on bullets for reloading?
TripleDigitRide replied to TNTitan's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
No problem. I actually ordered the bullets for a young man that Westwindmike was helping to get started in reloading. I never saw the bullets firsthand, but Mike said they were of good quality. As far as the service goes, I can tell you that the whole transaction couldn't have gone more smoothly. The owner was very helpful, easy to deal with, and shipping was fast. Best of luck. -
Firearms sales must really be slowing down.

What kind of safe? Size?

Ah, it's a small price to pay for 3 hots, a cot and air conditioning.

Ok, it looks as if we have several showing interest in a Mid-Tenn TGO Ride. It also looks like we have several members from all over the state showing interest, but many who wouldn't want to make the long trip to the Mid-Tenn area for such a ride. That's perfectly understandable. It's probably going to be better for members outside the Mid-Tenn area to coordinate a TGO Ride for their specific sections of the state. If someone wants to take charge of their area, jump on it. Of course, this doesn't mean members from other areas aren't welcome to join the Mid-Tenn TGO Ride. From this point on, we will use this thread for the Mid-Tenn TGO Ride. If anyone wishes to do so, seperate threads can be started for other areas. In order for this to be a successful event, some of us may need to be a little flexible. Everyone will have their "perfect ride" in mind, but of course it's not possible to please everyone 100%. I know some members ride crusisers, while others ride sport bikes, but I think this can work with both. For everyone to be more comfortable, splitting up into 2 groups, sport bikes leaving a few minutes earlier, is always an option. That way those of us who ride cruisers won't be in the way of those who are able to run a little faster. We need to begin gathering some ideas for the Mid-Tenn TGO Ride. Throw out any suggestions you may have. 1) Where will this ride take place? 2) What time of the day should we meet? 3) Where should we meet? 3) Do we want to have lunch, during or after the ride? And where? Not having lunch at all is always an option, I guess. I'm sure there's more, but I can't think of anything with my daughter complaining and the dog biting my toes. There is no date for this, but I was thinking sometime towards the end of September or beginning of October. That is flexible as well. Just thinking about more pleasant weather, and the fall colors should be starting to kick in, I think.

I've used Tennessee Valley Bullets I had them shipped, and he didn't waste any time. -
I love the old Savage .22's. I've had a few (never the Model 63), and they've always been great shooters. Only problem is, it can sometimes be a little difficult to find certian parts if needed. That doesn't keep me from buying a decent one at a good price.

Proud of my lil girl while reloading

Ah, mushy father-daughter stories are great. Being a single-father of a wonderful 10-year-old daughter, I've had a few similar stories to share. Congrats! -
As far as I'm concerned, almost all local radio hosts are just like Steve Gill. Repetitive and boring. Nashville has some of the crappiest radio, period. Especially politics and sports. Then you have Dave Ramsey. I am a firm believer and follower of his debt-free message, but there are only so many ways you can tell people to quit spending money they don't have and start saving. That show got way old a very long time ago. I am a big fan of Jim Rome, but I can't force myself to liststen to regular radio anymore. Plus, they quite playing his entire show in the Nashville area. If it's not on Sirius/XM, I don't listen to it.
-
Oh, OK. I should have realized that.
-
It's about time. But for some reason I thought I read somewhere that they were selecting jurors in the Nashville area for this trial. Guess it was for something else.

Congrats, man! I know it's an awesome feeling. Enjoy!

Nope. I wasn't able to attend this time. I was called out of town to help bail out a co-worker in need. There's always next year. With so many people in need during these tough economic times, I feel it's my duty to help as many people as I can, even if that means I do without those extras. I guess that's just how I was raised.
-
Unfortunately, I was not able to attend the FNRA dinner. As I stated in my original post, I am good for A (one) Benefactor membership to someone who is in need. I wish I could do more, but that is all I'm able to do at this time.
-
Because if I do that, I wouldn't be able to help others who are in more need than myself. I'm fortunate enough to have a job and the ability to pay my bills, but I also feel the need to help others who are in more need than myself whenever possible. If that means I do without some "extras" myself, so be it.

That's a great idea, IMHO. I hate to see TGO members being forced to sell their beloved firearms simply to make ends meet during these tough economic times. I know we have several TGOers still out of work, and having the ability to sell to other members they can trust would likely help out at least a little. This is especially true with the Holidays right around the corner. I can only imagine, but being out of work during the Holidays would have to be devastating, especially if you're a man with a family to support. I'm not a Benefactor, but if there is a member (singular) who is forced to sell their gun(s) just to make ends meet during the Holiday season, but simply can't afford to pay the Benefactor fee, I will gladly pay it for you. Just doing what little I can.
