  1. With questions like this, it's always best to call your local Police Department.
  2. I've yet to hear one (in person) that's as quiet as they make them out to be on TV.
  3. I am a Second Degree Red Belt in HapKiDo, and a Red/Black Belt in TaeKwonDo. It's been several years and pounds ago, but I still remember plenty.
  4. If Tennessee does offer the HCP class in Spanish, they shouldn't. Same with the drivers license testing.
  5. I don't know of any "stock" full-auto .22's, but there is a conversion for the Ruger 10/22. Guns & Leather is Class III. [ame] [/ame]
  6. From what information I've found, the "52" series is the ammo to stay away from. I guess that batch has had more problems than any.
  7. The "10" is the country (Bulgarian) code, and the "53 is the year is was produced. As far as the splitting goes, I, personally, wouldn't take the chance. On the other hand, I've seen many others shoot them, just as long as the bullet isn't loose. From what I've read on other forums, the cracking issue is very common with this ammo. It's also been reported that some Bulgarian ammo has blown up several CZ52's. I'm no expert, nor did this happen to me, but I thought it was worth a mention. Here is a post from one of the forums WARNING HERE---->Bulgarian 7.62 Tokarev in a CZ 52. OK, so my brother and I went out for a 2nd time with the "53" headstamped Bulgarian ammo. The stuff was cracking straight down to the head and I decided to quit. He was continiuing to fire when one round split right in half, blowing out and shattering the primer itself. The sand grain sized particles travelled quite effiecently through the firing pin hole straight into E.'s chest face and eyes. HE WAS BLEEDING A BIT AND DIDN'T EVEN KNOW IT. His only clue, which was immediate, was that his safety glasses were instantly sandblasted. GOOD thing he had 'em on! In my first post I asked whether anyone alse had seen this, and was pleasntly surprised to see that several people had seen it. Little did I know the cases were split before firing! It took a younger man next to us on the firing line to see them. E wasn't hurt and that's the main thing. It doesn't matter how much wisdom people espouse concerning "buyer beware" and "you get what you pay for." What does matter is buying a product from a trusted source that advertised caution AND satisfaction--and getting pranged through and through. Anyone saying we (he) "had it coming" or "deserved it" should try and imagine themselves in E's position. Or instill into your mind a picture of a young person, a child of yours perhaps, without glasses shooting this garbage that we paid good money for and getting high speed primer cup metal in their eye. I wish this upon no-one. But people, this headstamp = trash-bin garbage ammo + waste of $$$ = an injury to someone, someday somewhere. Take Care all!!! The Country Code "10" - -Arsenal, Kazanlak (previously named Durjava Voenna Fabrika), Bulgaria (When found on ammunition made after 1946). -Russian State Arsenal, location unknown. Listed here to avoid confusion with Bulgarian factory using the same code. Found on ammunition made 1946 and earlier. Factory Ceased operations in 1946
  8. From what I understand, this is not a replacement for the current XD, but rather an additional/optional model. I hope I understand correctly.
  9. Happy birthday! Nice rifle!
  10. From someone who knows nothing about AR's, the scope is much too long. Other than that, it's pretty bad a$$.
  11. Yes! The video says they found a RuEger?
  12. Being a big fan of the XD series, I'd suggest the XD 45 Compact (if a compact is what you want).
  13. OH NO!!!! Me like girls, a lot! It could very well be a tweener. I don't know--Maybe I'll change my mind, once I get my hands on one of them.
  14. Yes, I know. But, the pictured XD looks like a 4" Service model, not the 5" tactical. I could be wrong, though. If it is the 4", the space on the new XD looks to be nearly twice as much as the current 4" models.
  15. I'm a huge XD fan, but I'm not sure about this. I'm wondering if this is a prototype, or the finished product. It's a bit on the wild side, but I could almost get used to it, if it weren't for all the space at the end of the frame/barrel. Unless that changes, I'm not likely to add one of these to my collection.
  16. I'm not doubting you one bit. I wasn't aware of any laws that required them to have possession of the firearm. Obviously, it's not beyond LEO's to break the law. I just tell them that I'm interested in purchasing a firearm, and I'd like to make sure it's not stolen.
  17. Most of the time it was done before I purchased the gun. The only time it was "after" is when my father gave me a Ruger .357 Blackhawk that he'd purchased from a truck driver. After finding out where/who he purchased it from, I called to have the number checked.
  18. I've purchased a few guns via a FTF transaction, and I simply call the Metro Police Dept. to find out if the gun has been reported stolen. They've never given me any trouble. Now that I think about it, I also did this another time in Overton County. I called the OCSD. No troubles with them either.
  19. Look at the Cold Steel Gunsite II. My boss has 5 or 6 of them. I just ordered one for about $56. Check out the video. [ame] [/ame]
  20. What? XD 40, 4" Service Model. Why? It's my right.
  21. That makes perfect sense. I'm glad to know you'll meet or beat prices. I've been in your location a few times, and I was always treated wonderfully. I'll be back. As far as the LEO scenario, I would have been kinda pi$$ed as well. I've never been "that kind" of shopper, but I am looking for the best price. I usually ask what the best price is, and it will either be good enough for me to buy, or it won't. I'm not about to bicker anyone down, especially if there are already discounts involved.
  22. Here's one 5.11 Tactical First Responder Tanto
  23. Just curious--Where did this happen? Just be thankful you're not on a slab next to the truck driver they found dead in Franklin today. Must have had a heart attack while sleeping. Dunno.
  24. "Mitchell's Country Store On Christmasville Rd right outside of Jackson". Jackson Tennessee, that is.
  25. OUCH! Sorry to hear about this. Hope you heal soon.
