  1. I'm really glad TGO stepped in when they did, because I was about to buy a ticket, not thinking about the whole "game of chance" issue. Not being the most knowledgeable about Class 3 weapons, I just wanted to make sure there wasn't something else I needed to keep an eye out for in the future.
  2. Sure. It's really not that difficult. I was a little skeptical of my abilities, but that was unwarranted. I watched a youtibe video as I did it, and that helped a bunch. I'm pretty sure I can do it without the video next time. As a matter of fact, today is gonna be that next time. I will be stripping down my XD in just a few hours. I'm going to be doing some serious polishing. Anything that can be polished (except the slide), is going to be polished.
  3. I understand the "Machine Gun" thread was deleted for possible legal issues, but I was wondering if someone could expand on the issue a bit further. I've tried researching about the law regarding the ownership of a fully-automatic weapon, but I'm still a bit confused. Where there other possible legal issues, other than the fact that it would have been a "game of chance"? If it wouldn't be too much trouble, and you actually know the laws regarding owning a fully-automaic weapon, could you please explain. Thanks in advance. *** I was able to find a website with a much better description of the laws in Tennessee regarding the ownership of a machine gun. From what I understand, it may be a bit more difficult than purchasing a handgun, rifle or shotgun, but it's still legal to own one.
  4. ******Please excuse the post that was previously in this spot.******* My nephew was on the computer while I was watching TV. I apologize for his behavior.
  5. +1 Well, not quite 30 years for me, but I've done the very same thing, without issues.
  6. + 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 That almost made me pee my pants. Maybe I'm just easily amused, but that was some funny *****.
  7. Yea, but I don't trust myself. Just my luck, I'd burn a hole straight through.
  8. Try it. I don't think you'll regret it.
  9. No. The trigger bar is next. I'm waiting for it to go on the "group buy", so I can save a few bucks. I paid about $30/shipped for the sear, sear spring, and trigger spring. That was quite a bit cheaper than normal cost.
  10. I can be your "Gun For Hire" until the new card comes. You have something in your case that I'd really like to have. Barter? Being in the "neck of the woods" that you're in, I'd take my chances. The odd's are in your favor.
  11. Absolutely Not! That will get you in trouble. Now, this on the other hand, this is what every badge totin' sucka needs to have in their wardrobe.
  12. As I stated in another post, I too, took my class through SATS in Franklin. They were a great bunch of guys, and I find myself recommending them to people who don't even ask. They tried their best to keep the class from putting us to sleep. I plan on going back for more of their classes in the future.
  13. I also went through the S.A.T.S. program. They were the greatest bunch of guys, and with them as "teachers", the 8 hours simply flew by. I recommend S.A.T.S. to anyone who asks about the HCP courses, and even some who don't. I plan on going back for additional courses. That being said, I couldn't help but laugh when they recommended those Cracker Jack badges. You're kidding right? They weren't recommending those badges anymore than they were recommending their T-Shirts and other goodies. As a matter of fact, when I took my class, they were kinda like drug pushers when it came to these shirts they just had made for the women. I wish I could remember what they said, but I can't. The badges, shirts, and all the other goodies were there to make extra money. On top of that, I really think roughly $50 price tag for one of those badges is a ripoff. Come on! You know the only people who really want to wear those badges are the very same people just dying to get their greasy little fingers on one of those really narly Crown Vic's or Chevy Caprice from the local police auction. Face it, only Jake and Elwood Blues can pull that off, and pull it off with style.
  14. Nice choice. I was looking at at some for my J-frame, but by time I made up my mind, they were sold. I love the unique styles/colors at Esmerelda.
  15. Yes it is. It's just that I rarely wear an OWB for a carry holster. There's no way I'm getting rid of it though. The quality and comfort in the cooler months is hard to beat. They're well worth the money, and the wait.
  16. He's right. K&D makes a great holster. I have the Cochise Defender, but I have a problem wearing when it's warm outside. Being made of leather, it doesn't work well for me as a IWB when it starts to get warm, and that's with the anti sweat deal. I save it for the cooler months.
  17. I use these, and they've been great. Blade-Tech Belt Holster http://www.pistolgear.com/proddetail.php?prod=18BTA&cat=7 Blade-Tech UCH http://www.pistolgear.com/proddetail.php?prod=18BTB&cat=7 And I've purchsed these to go with it http://www.pistolgear.com/proddetail.php?prod=18BTG&cat=7 I think you'd really be happy. I've tried many, and these have been the best, for me, by far.
  18. You can order them from many places, but I got mine from XDguys.com. They were running a group buy special, so I jumped on it. I think they have a few left. I don't think they are running the special anymore, but I still think they are cheaper than normal.
  19. I have no idea what the difference is between the sear and spring they would install in their shop and the ones they sent me, but I'm tickled pink. It's so much smoother and so much less travel.
  20. Yea, I saw that video, but I really like the type of stippling in the picture I posted above. This XD was brand new until I took it to the range earlier this week. I was thinking about using it as a carry, but I've decided to pimp it out instead. I'm gonna get many hard chromed parts, or polish them, and modify some parts of it.. If I'm going to do that, I just thing the look of the picture I posted will make for a better fit when it's all done.
  21. It greatly reduced the travel, more than half. It brings the trigger pull down towards 4.5-5 lbs, or real close. Now that I've done it, it was quite simple. I hadn't done quite a detailed strip until now, because the XD has only had about 100 rounds through it. it will be much easier next time.
  22. Oh, Sorry. It was on my XD40. It was a stage 2 kit. It was the sear, sear spring, and the tripper spring. It greatly reduced the take up, and also slighly reduced the trigger pull. It feels much much better.
  23. I just installed my very first trigger kit from Bob's Custom Shop. I was a bit nervous, but after watching a Youtube video, it was quite simple. The trigger kit has helped a great deal.
