  1. With all the gunsmiths in the Middle Tennessee area, no one is doing this type of stippling?
  2. Not sure, but that's exactly why one should NEVER lend a firearm to ANYONE, for ANY reason.
  3. DUDE! That's one big mofo in your avatar.
  4. Yea, I checked them out. I'm not real keen about it taking 5-8 weeks to get it back. They are a few buck cheaper than some of the others I've seen, but damn that's a long wait. I'd really like to find someone close, so I can get a first hand look at one before I get it done.
  5. I'm not sure. I'm not sure why it would, but you never know. To be honest, I'm not all that concerned about that.
  6. I'm trying to find someone (preferably near Nashville) that does this type of stippling. I think it's called "Tree Bark Stippling".
  7. Yep! It's going up. I just purchased a 100 round box of .40 WWB from Wal-Mart, and it was $29.XX, after taxes. With all the ammo being used in the war, just be thankful we can even get ammo these days.
  8. I'm not, but I'm a truck driver with a Connex 4600 Turbo. I know it has some buttons and knobs that allow me to use other channels (besides 1-40), but I have no idea how to use them.
  9. If a home defense weapon is what you're lookin' for, you can't go wrong with the trusty Remingtom 870. In most cases, the "CLACK CLACK" will scare off even the most ignorant of criminals. I know it's not a .357 or .45, but for home defense, that's what I'm rollin' with.
  10. These guys do amazing work. On top of that, they're some of the nicest people you'll meet. Guns & Leather Incorporated (615) 643-4865 gunsandleather.com 2216 Highway 41 S, Greenbrier, TN 37073 Map it | Get directions

It's not their first. There was/is the Ten II models.
  13. Welcome to TGO. I don't know about Lewisburg, but there is a great class at the Williamson County Sheriff's Department.
  14. WoW! I didn't realize we had so many permit class givers in here.
  15. I took my class over at the Williamson County Sheriffs Dept. I think it was $80 for an 8 hour class. it may not be the very cheapest, but in a course like this, I wouldn't pay that much attention to the price. They are the greatest bunch of guys. I promise, you'll spend more time laughing than anything else. They really make the time go by quickly. All of the instructors were either currently involved with the Sheriffs Dept, or retired. They were very knowledgable and helpful. If you don;t know something, they won't make you feel like an idiot. Good luck.
  16. I guess I'll try the blue remover first. I'm guessing that will just get to down to the stainless look, and I'll have to work more to get the mirror-like finish that I'm really after.
  17. Well, I wasn't planning on spending anywhere near that kind of money, but I hadn't checked on prices to have it done. I didn't think it would be that big of a job, for someone with all the correct tools. I could be way off though.
  18. I am thinking about polishing the barrel and guide rod (maybe a few other parts) on my XD40, but first, I have a couple questions. 1) What is good polish that will give me a very mirror-like shine? I saw on another forum, the mention of "Heavy Metal" cotton swab polish. The pictures were amazing, but I would have to order that. If possible, I'd like to find something I can purchase loacally. 2) Do you happen to know anyone, near the Nashville area, that does this type of thing? Maybe, if I can get it done cheap enough, I'll just pay someone else to do it. Thanks in advance.
  19. Of course he did. Doesn't every carry permit holder?
  20. Welcome, From Nashville Tennessee.
  21. Welcome, from the other side of Nashville. Hendersonville!
  22. Does anyone know if that mag kits speacial is still going on? I think it was 3 mags for $45, or something like that. Thanks.
