  1. Got my trigger, detent kit, booster, and fcg pin retainer plate in the mail yesterday. Went ahead and ordered a Midwest Industries hand guard with a top cover for my primary arms micro dot. Dropped off my receiver for engraving yesterday as well. Looking forward to getting this all put together...
  2. That video was posted on his channel last week and abruptly moved to another....
  3.   Yep, e-filing is not hard after you do it the first time.  My 2nd SBR I filed this weekend only took a few minutes to input the info on the screens, just had issues with the ATF site taking the info without giving me errors...
  4. Glad I e-filed my form 1 a few days ago...hopefully I will still get the 70-90 day processing time, wishing I would have filed sooner.  My AR SBR came back in just over 30 days at the end of last year, but funds weren't there to do the AK SBR at that time...
  5. Thanks for the link on that...I am still a little partial to the Midwest Industries hand guard setup...maybe I will change my mind in the next 2-3 months...
  6. Are the renegade hand guards fairly rugged?? How do they do weight distribution wise?? I understand the triangle stock supposedly displaces the center of gravity. I would think adding an aluminum hand guard setup would help put more weight back toward the muzzle end, but I will defer to the knowledge of you gentlemen...
  7. nah...haven't shot it yet....didn't really plan on using the irons as my main sights anyway...but i will go shoot the thing in the next few days to see where it stands...
  8. Well I wish I woulda posted this yesterday....already filed....the front post is centered well, the rear flipper is slightly to the left from what I can tell...is there a way to correct this with a rubber mallet?
  9. Bought a M92 PAP last week and picked it up Friday after work with the sole purpose of filing a Form 1 to SBR. Brought it home and started to refinish the handguards and do some research on some other DIY AK work. I managed to get the pistol stripped down completely other than removing the thread protector and the barrel. Sprayed it down to remove all the grime and grease and re-oiled with a light coat. Refinished the hand guards by cleaning the surface with acetone and applying a light coat of stain and tung oil. After doing my reading I found that tung oil suffices as a stand alone finish, but I think the overall results of what I did are satisfactory. I plan to replace the trigger, muzzle device and add a Stormwerkz sidefolder/Manticore Arms triangle stock. I would like to put a Midwest Industries handguard at some point milled up top for an Aimpoint or Primary Arms micro dot and put a pouch on the stock to round things out. I put a couple of photos below of where I am so far after disassembly/cleaning/reassembly. I will have to disassemlble again to get the receiver engraved with my trust info here in the next few weeks. Thanks for looking and I would appreciate any thoughts/constructive criticisms that you can offer....
  10. Thank you sir. I appreciate the extra effort on your part, I know you have a life outside of TGO...
  11. Did this get shelved for the time being?  Curious, was hoping to get one or four for the people in my household....
  12. I'd have been done in 5 minutes if the site would have worked properly...now I get 2 wait for a couple of months to bolt a side folder on my AK pistol...
  13. I have been trying to submit a form 1 for the last 30 minutes. I enter in all my info and attached the pdf file for my trust. When I go to the screen to certify, I check the box and click pay. The computer sits for about 30 seconds or so and then either gives me a error message or takes me back to the main screen you would see after intially logging into efile. Trying to figure out if others have been experiencing anything like this or if maybe there is an issue that I am not aware of with the system? 14. I would be interested to read your AAR of the course. If his school wasn't so far to make a weekend trip for me feasible, I would sign up for a class myself....
  15. Thanks for bearing with my ignorance on this.  I just ordered the stock and adapter to mount.  Also have the shim you suggested ordered as well.  I just need to get the last 2-3 parts to get the 922r compliance in order, will get the G2 trigger you suggested.  I believe the M92 is double hook, but will wait till I get the PAP in from the distributor before I spend that money to be sure.  I know I may spend a little more or equal to an Arsenal in the long run, but just want the experience of converting one over to learn the ropes...
  16. I am trying to compile some parts for this and found this: http://www.shoretactical.com/product_info.php/stormwerkz-hinge-p-300   Just wanted to make sure this would work with the manticore arms triangle stock and the M92?
  17. Sorry for the confusion of my last post, I hadn't thoroughly read the info you linked before I responded. Thanks for your help. I think I will forego the hand guard replacement and just add the stock, grip, booster, and trigger parts. I can just update the hand guard at a later time....I will just shoot my magpul and us palm mags until to keep the parts count legal...
  18. Ok, just ordered the shim. I planned to use an American made stock, booster, and I have a magpul AK grip I can migrate to this build....also was thinking about putting a Midwest Industries handguard on so that should satisfy the 922r compliance, correct?
  19. Also, the photos I am seeing show a straight receiver, not slanted....is there something I am missing?
  20. So if I put an American made stock, folder adapter, and booster would that not make it 922r compliant?? This is a project gun so it is a learning process/experience builder for myself and my wife. I will probably end up running a red dot on it initially and could replace the sights on it down the road. I guess I am just throwing out ideas at this point...
  21. When I efiled for my SBR last year it showed pending for 30 days...then, BANG!!! Got my email with a pdf file of my tax stamp....I was at FedEx Office after work ASAP and slapping the buffer tube and stock on my receiver as soon as I got home...
  22. I am in the process of ordering an M92 pistol to form 1 into an SBR. I am looking to use the ACE folding stock adapter and the traditional triangle stock. From what I've read/researched so far it seems this would be the least intensive way to add the stock to the back of the receiver. Basically just throwing my idea out there and seeing if there are other who have done this type of conversion that can pass along some wisdom/experience...thanks for your help...
