  1. This guy can't stay out of the news to save his life...
  2. I bought a Savage 116 Trophy Hunter in 30-06 a couple of years back.  I would like to put an aftermarket stock on it and was looking for suggestions based on your personal experiences.  Looking for "best" in terms of weight, design, etc.  I am leaning toward a synthetic instead of wood.  I am also going to have to replace the mag and order the bottom metal from Savage to be able to continue to use the DBM as the one currently on my rifle uses that Axis mags, which have the plastic trim/clip piece instead of a separate mag release on the bottom of the rifle.  Anyway, just looking for thoughts to help guide my decision as some of you guys are wiser than you realize.  Thanks for your help...
  3. Johnnie Walker is a good start...not too expensive...as with most alcohol it is an aquired taste.

Nice...I can't buy anymore guns or my wife will be mad...
  5. I have managed to scrape together 6lb of powder, 4 bottles of CFE 223 and 2 of H335. I have around a grand in primers and about 700rds worth of 55gr FMJBT. I am comfortable with this, but will be checking stores here and there to pickup stuff as the wallet allows. I don't want to be stuck if people start panic buying when the election cycle starts next year...
  6. I found 2 bottle of H335 at bass pro yesterday and snatched it. A little more than I would have liked to pay. I might be making a trip to Corinth tomorrow so if it works out I will pay that store a visit. Thanks for the info everyone has provided
  7. That sucks. Would've been nice to have a place to shoot on the way home from work. Guess I will stick with RUSA also...
  8. Congrats! I was blessed with 2 boys...maybe they will give me a grand daughter one day...
  9. It's urban male ritual...trying to psych each other out...lol...
  10. Sigh...I am so ready to move and get me some acres...
  11. yep...i got a couple of lbs of CFE and 1000rd once fired lake city brass from them about 6 weeks ago...should have bought more powder while they had it, but lesson learned.  just trying to not pay shipping+tax+hazmat ordering from midsouth shooters supply...
  12. They are great on dies and misc shell holders and other reloading doo-dads, but the powder section needs some 'ttention...
  13. Bought 2 lbs of CFE from them about 6 weeks ago...they have been sold out since....the other stuff they have in stock isn't for 223....I actually bought 1000rds of once fired lake city brass from them as well.  They have great prices on their stuff, but I think they are not the best kept secret anymore...I call them about once per week or so just to see if they have anything in..they claim they are waiting on their distributor to ship their order to them...
  14. I know this is outside of another thread regarding but figured might get noticed sooner in a new post.  Looking for a retail store (non big box if possible) in west TN area that would sell powders/primers/bullets?  Started reloading 223 for plinking/training ammo and need to stock up a little more on powders, primers and bullets.  I can travel at the most to mid-TN, but would prefer not to if possible.  Also, been using CFE and AR Comp for my reloading.  Any other suggestions for reloading for AR?  Not looking for match ammo, just minute-of-man.  Someone I've spoken with also recommended BLC-2...thanks for any info you guys can provide...

  16. Sorry for your loss, lost my dad to pancreatic cancer in 2011 two weeks before father's day. It is tough some days, but in time the pain will ease. Prayers for you and your family....

    Wake up call

My PCP ran tests which all came back normal. My BP is still a little above normal, but doc said was most likely related to my weight being too high. He mentioned sleep apnea but I told him my wife hadn't ever mentioned it, she said she would start checking on me since I generally fall asleep before she does. Basically just going to heed doc warning and work on diet and dropping some pounds, he said based on the test results being inconclusive would be the best for me along with periodically checking BP...

    Wake up call

EKG was normal, BP was below hypertension level (has still been fluctuating), blood work still pending. Doc said I need to make some lifestyle changes or things could get worse later in life... Started keeping a food journal and exercising...cutting out alcohol and sodas...hopefully it will doe some good...

    Wake up call

Yea, the nurse practitioner I saw today said the same thing...she seemed to feel I would be fine if I didn't feel worse. I feel much better than earlier this morning...just curious what the doc will find is wrong...
