Not really anything new...maybe it's just catching up...
-
Woke up this morning at 5am to use the bathroom. When I got up it took me a second to realize my heart was pounding. Also felt like spasms as well, with irregular beating. Tried to lay back down and relax since there was no chest pain or pressure. After a couple of hours laying in anxiety sleep found me again. Woke up an about 9am with the same problem. Decided to go to a minor med to check things before I went to the ER unnecessarily. My heart rate calmed down a little by the time I'd gotten in to the exam room. Doc listened to things and took BP. Heart rate was still elevated but BP was 140/104. Not sure what is the cause, but I am going to make an appointment with my primary Dr to get further tests. Not really sure why I am typing this other than I am just nervous about things and felt maybe part of the cure is expression...

Tom Givens is a respected instructor...it would be money well spent. -
ATF raises new concerns about AR-15 ammo
jacob replied to Oh Shoot's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Wouldn't it be easy to surmise based on the quoted comment that the end game for the ATF and anti 2A crowd would be to ban all rifle rounds? Or, make supply so low of non banned ammo that it is next to impossible to find or afford said ammo due to a skyrocketing purchase price?? I just hope all these comments being made about how any rifle round can penetrate body armor isn't used a la the sig brace to be used against us. HOPEFULLY the political pressure and fear of "civil disobedience" will keep the wolves at bay... -
It doesn't say the ban won't happen. They are still collecting comments to consider for any possible "framework". By no means am I saying it will happen, only keep your head on a swivel and don't get too comfortable...

I have an RCBS that quit not too long ago. I bought a Lyman Turbo Twin...comes with 2 different sized bowls. Has done a pretty good job so far since I purchased a couple weeks back....

I hope they don't trip while they back pedal....

I bought a pair of welding gloves to handle the can from lowes. I will still probably get a cover if I will be doing any transition stuff, but want to keep using one to a minimum....

I have the Saker Trifecta muzzle brake on my SBR...I have Trifecta flash hiders on my 16in and 14.5in guns...solid lockup

First Class 3 about to happen

Patience is definitely not my virtue...but I am slowly learning... -
I converted mine from pistol to SBR back in December...I bought the can at the end of October and got my call from the LGS on Saturday that my stamp came in....right at about 3 months...
-
Got my suppressor today, in from what I hear near record time. My Saker 556 can hooked up to my Sig gas piston SBR. Ready for a range visit!

First Class 3 about to happen

Nice...guess I will try to stick with the in stock stuff unless there is a bargain I can force myself to wait for... -
Great, thanks for the info!

So, what are some ways you guys use to handle and transport the suppressor after use?? I may be shooting this initially at an indoor range and it may not have adequate time to cool before I leave....
-
I see...my biggest concern was possibly burning myself during transitions to my pistol during training...is that not an issue to be worried about?? I don't plan on burning through a mag in one fell swoop, but didn't know how 2-4 shot groups in during a drill over the course of a few minutes would affect the temp. Forgive my ignorance on this, as I said this is my 1st suppressor and don't want to learn certain things the hard way...

My wait was an in stock item as well. If you do a form 3 transfer to the dealer first that could be another 2-4 weeks, IIRC... -
With moderate rates of fire, what is the typical cool down time?

Got my call from the LGS yesterday, my tax stamp came in. Unfortunately they called me at 1530 and close at 1800. I was unable to make the drive to get there before closing time since I was out of pocket. I will pick it up tomorrow and probably have to wait until the weekend to shoot it. I was extremely suprised to get the call since I went pending at the end of October. Almost 3 months to the day. Anyone else heard of wait times dropping this low? I was actually expecting to wait until closer to March or April...Almost makes me want to get another... -
I have been looking online at these, mainly the HAD at Rifles Only. My question as a future first time suppressor owner is are these really necessary from a handling standpoint? I plan on training with my suppressor and don't want to burn myself or touch anything that will melt due to heat. I guess I am just wanting to make sure these things are not just hype that are not needed or if they are truly a useful item for someone that would be performing firearm transitions....

Video of Chris kyle and Conan O'Brien 1 yr before his death!!
jacob replied to bersaguy's topic in General Chat
Conan hit the nail on the head when he contrasted Kyle to himself...to many people often rank themselves much higher than they should....nice to see some humility from people in the public eye... -
I hate waiting...but my wife may hate the charge on the credit card more...
