  1. "With major repairs I'm hesitant to use some smaller shops that may due just fine, buy I prefer a nice well presented shop, and that's what I found at A&I. But in the end I may end up paying more for the same job." Thats the reason I asked here. This is a good bunch of people.
  2. Dang thats a huge difference in price. Major prob = white smoke out exhaust and burning 1 qt of oil per 200 miles.
  3. Did you have major work done to your car ?
  4. Thanks I appreciate the information.
  5. Yeah Any info would be welcome. Thanks
  6. Anybody know a good mechanic that works on Volkswagens. I have a 2001 Diesel Jetta that may need piston rings. As close to Elizabethton,Tn as possible. Thanks
  7. I'll start workin on how to open that manual. No rust on it.
  8. Ok Dont have the dummy rounds. It only seems to wind about 6 inches. So I guess its just about useless as is. Thanks for the info.
  9. No winding knob. It has a half butterfly handle on the back that lowers the follower back down into the drum. The follower looks sort of like a round but only comes up to within 2 inches of the top of the mag. Yes it looks exactly like those.
  10. A friend of mine has a 100 ? round drum magazine made by Firepower Inc of Hancock, Maine. Neither one of us knows anything about these mags. Not much on the web about them at all. Would like to know how to load and repair them. We don't even know if this thing works. Any info would be great. It is a round metal drum with a clear plastic cover on one side. Out of the top center is what looks like a 5 round regular Ar mag.
  11. Try a small hook and some corn. Best thing is if you get hungry its ok to eat the bait.
  12. Search colt large hole upper. They make adapter pins and bushings to help out. These links below may help. AR15Tactical.com - AR-15 Frequently Asked Questions AR-15 Upper Receiver Comparison and FAQ
  13. I've put about 1000 rounds through mine and she functioned flawlessly. I have put just about every brand of ammo htrough it except wolf and tulammo. Very accurate as well.
  14. I have the EMP in 40 and a friend has one in 9. Both have performed perfectly with every brand and kind of ammo we've tried. Mine shoots better than I can. Recoil is very manageable. Neither one of us regret spending the money for them.
  15. I have a CVA Wolf which shoots great, also have a CVA Hawken thats a 1-66" twist which will do moa with patch and round ball if I do my part. I have as a spare a NEF Sidekick 50 cal that is a better shooter than I. As for bows I use a Bear Montana Longbow but have had compounds in the past and loved them. I'm actually thinking about getting a crossbow next season. I feel it doesn't matter what you shoot as long as you can make an ethical kill shot on your choice of target whether it be an animal or a piece of paper. As far as muzzleloaders start out less expensive then if you want to upgrade later you'll have a backup or an extra to take a friend with.

  18. You can look at the Night Defender for a diff. look. I sent this back and had a S&A beavertail put on. Feels a lot better than the original duck bill that was on there. Its listed by Talo as a carbon slide.

    Need some AR advice

If you looking for inexpensive functional AR look at the CMMG site under the bargain bin section. They are around $600 for scratched , dented , seconds. I've read on the other forum sites that these are very good buys. Just a thought.
  20. I have 2 Crossbreeds, the Supertuck and Quickclip. I use an EMP 40 and Colt Night Defender 45 in them. They are very comfortable. I haven't tried any other IWB holsters.
