Republicans can not get away with cheating because the liberal press would leave no stone unturned to discover it where as they dismiss the Dems cheating as normal. The problem with things as I see it is we have a ruling class now in Washington. They make rules that the rest of us have to abide by and exempt or ignore themselves from those same rules. Why did our elected leaders exempt themselves from Obama care, forced Social Security payments? Why if they serve one term do they get paid for life and free (to them) medical care? The last time I was in D.C. they even had their own lane to drive in so they would not be bothered by the traffic the rest of us had to endure. Would we look at laws differently if we new everybody else had to abide by them except us, and the only way we could continue to get away with this is to get reelected? This is not a Democrat or Republican problem, though at this time the Democrats seem to be worse. Our elected leaders should have to live by the same laws they force on everybody else, this has been brought up by a couple of Republicans lately with no support from the real powers to be. (in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers. syn- socialism

My first remembrance (many years ago) of gun instruction was "never pull a gun on someone unless you are going to use it and never use it unless you intend to kill the person" the thought was you do not want the shoote to be a witness in court against you, claiming they had no intention of causing you harm. I guess that reminds me of another old saying ' I would rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6. There is always a chance that a DA will choose to prosecute regardless of the circumstances. Good lawyers are expensive and most of us do not have the ability to hire the best. I personally would mortgage my home and sell everything of any value to hire the best attorneys possible.

Agreed, and it sounds as if both parties could have maybe avoided this confrontation. My point is if you go around looking for a reason to fight you better be armed because sooner or later someone else will be. You are correct it is not a against the law to be an idiot and stupidity can cause you to go to jail or it can get you killed.

How was Zimmerman following this kid keeping and eye on him so confrontational? If I am not doing anything wrong you can follow me all day, it might be a little boring but I could care less. If I am walking thru a neighborhood and someone stops me or follows me good for them. They can accuse me all they want, so what. If I decide I am going to fight someone over something as minor as being followed or harassed I may get more than I bargened for. I cut a guy off on the interstate one day accidentally. He followed me and harressed me for miles. If I had stopped and attacked him and he shot me would it have been his fault? Mark

Another Bluff Cityin(not sure if that is a word) on board. I have recently gotten back into the fun of gun mode after years of basic protection mode. I learned of this site from Hickok45 on youtude. I have a membership at Shooters Edge in Piney Flats, but am working on a range simular to Hickok45, though a much smaller scale in my back yard. i have already picked up a lot of good info from this site and will be supporting it more soon.
