  1. I was with a guy that did the brake check to a tailgater and was ticketed for causing a accident. Purposely irritating someone just because you can never has made any sense to me. Sometimes when you try to teach someone else a lesson you learn one yourself.
  2. My wife worked for a manufacturing comp. for 16 years. The Feds would come in from time to time and fine them a 100 grand for this or that. It's was a non union low paying company. It was still cheaper to buy china made products. They adjusted the quality so there was no difference from what was made here. The lead time in ordering was the biggest problem. Gov. Regs, insurance, and all the other forced expenses on this company forced them to go from 70+ employees to 10 or 12.
  3. I do not say never very often but if I ever half to start mowing my yard again I will buy a z turn. Home owner use should be 20 plus years. The time it will save you is much more valuable. I can see no reason to ever buy a tractor style mower again. You can find a deal on a new z turn and get 90 days same as cash at least maybe longer. GO WITH A Z TURN. If it is just not in the cards pick up a used good name rider for under a grand and save up for a better mower. I sold a Snapper 18hp with 800 hrs. for $400 a few months ago. Had the mower for 22 yrs. Good mowers at decent prices are out there.
  4. Ok,ok before you bible scholars get started, I guess one could say that Mary was artificially inseminated, but not by a medical procedure so I think I am still correct on that and Abraham used a surrogate mother for his first born but that still took him knowing her (OS would say the old in and out). I'm going to bed, good night.
  5. At the time of Adam and Eve (which was what we were talking about)those options were not available. Again other than Mary the mother of Jesus (thats for you c.a.) i know of no other way Adam and Eve could have gotten pregnant other than the "old in and out". OS you sure have a way with words.
  6. I never said you offended me in any way. I am very hard to offend. I think 6.8 may have saw it that way but I didn't. Hopefully my last post on this explained my train of thought in that part of the discussion. C.A., Absolutely no offense taken. Iron sharpens iron.
  7. The discussion would probably have to start with why the bible is my point of reference, And what would there's would be and why.
  8. Would you feel better if I had said " other than Mary the mother of Jesus" I only know of one way that can happen? If so my bad for leaving that out. It still does not change the fact that the same word "know" was used in those two places in the bible that was part of the discussion. That was the point of the statement. Man we can chase some rabbits can't we.
  9. I do not recall calling your religious viewpoints morally repugnant. I may disagree, but you have the right to believe what you want. I tend to stay away from statements that start with "i think" or "i believe". I do try to back up my beliefs with scripture. If the scripture has offended you there is not much i can do about that. I have learned to interpret scripture with other scripture and have found the bible to be consistent on sexual morality issues including homosexuality. I only have 30 years of studying the word so I still have a lot to learn. If you have bible verses that back up your position I would be interested in hearing them. I have I enjoyed the debate so far especially that it has stayed by and large non personal.
  10. Not sure your point here, if your talking about Mary the mother of Jesus. Ok, but for Adam and Eve and the use of the word know, I stand by my statement.
  11. Not a hater, but I do have a serious lack of trust when I comes to most LE. I do not want to group them all together but man if they want to make your life miserable they can. Justified or not.
  12. I did a Duracote job myself on a AR and a 12 ga.  Very happy with the out come. The only problem was with the shell carrier, it was to flexable and the paint started flaking off.  All metal and hard rubber has been great.
  13.   Why did Lot not turn over the men(angels) if they just wanted to find out about them? As you assume the word means. If the word "know" has the meaning you suggest then they were in no danger.  I did look up the orginial word and the many differant uses of it but only one would be something those men needed protection from.  The same orginal word is used in Genisis 4-1, so when Adam knew his wife and she conceived, there is only one way that can happen.  It surely is not what you are suggesting the same word is used for in with the men in Sodom.  So again what do you think these men wanted with these men that they needed protection from. Or what do you think the word "know" means here?   So your primise that Lot offered up his daughters as virgins in the attempt to make them more tempting to the angry men (that had no sexual inclinations toward these men) makes no sense at all.
  14.   that we may know them; not who they were, and from whence they came, and what their business was; nor did they pretend anything of this kind to hide and cover their design from Lot, but they were open and impudent, and declared their sin without shame and blushing, which is their character, Isaiah 3:9; their meaning was, that they might commit that unnatural sin with them, they were addicted to, and in common used, and which from them to this day bears the name of Sodomy. As lawful copulation with a man's wife is modestly expressed by knowing her, Genesis 4:1; so this unlawful and shocking copulation of man with man is expressed by this phrase; and that this was their meaning is plain from Lot's answer to them, Genesis 19:8.   Lot knew what these men had in mind, you may not see it but he sure did, his response was please do not do this wicked thing. He even offered up his daughters to try to fulfill the sexual frenzy these men were under     Why were the angles there in the first place?  They told Lot to get his family and get out because God was getting ready to destroy the city. So God provided a way out for those he wanted to save.      God did see the good in the city he removed it and then destroyed the rest. Seeing the good in people is certainly something we should all strive to do, but ignoring the wicked and refusing to call sin a sin is not the answer. At least God didn’t.
  15. "On this one we will simply have to agree to disagree and go merrily about our way"   I have enjoyed the spirited debate. It is especially good that it did not turn personal.  It is good to show passion about our beliefs without attacking the belief of others.
  16.     Please explain the account of Sodom and Gomorrah then. When the men of the city surrounded Abrahams house and demanded he give up the men that had come into his house. What did they want those men for. I will not use the word homosexuality. Those men wanted to have sex with other men. Some would understand that to be a homosexual act, no matter when the word was created.  It offended God so much that he destroyed a city because of it. Whatever word you want to use.   Are you of the opinion that God is in heaven and thinking to himself men having sex with men and women having sex with women is a good thing, yes that’s what the world needs more of?
  17. Many of the sins you mentioned were cultural or specific sins for a specific group of people. Let’s look at the Old Testament (old agreement) and the New Testament (new agreement).   Matthew 5-17 Jesus says he came to fulfill the law not do away with it. So what laws did Jesus deal with in the new agreement?   Romans 1:27-32 "And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved. Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done. Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They invent new ways of sinning, and they disobey their parents. They refuse to understand, break their promises, are heartless, and have no mercy. They know God’s justice requires that those who do these things deserve to die, yet they do them anyway. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too." 1 Corinthians 6:9--Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB) "Don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be deceived: No sexually immoral people, idolaters, adulterers, or anyone practicing homosexuality," 1 Timothy 1:9-10--New International Version (NIV) "We also know that the law is made not for the righteous, but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine." Revelation 21:8--New International Version (NIV) "But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”   The Bible does not describe homosexuality as a “greater” sin than any other. All sin is offensive to God. Homosexuality is just one of the many things listed in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 that will keep a person from the kingdom of God. According to the Bible, God’s forgiveness is just as available to a homosexual as it is to an adulterer, idol worshipper, murderer, thief, etc. God also promises the strength for victory over sin, including homosexuality, to all those who will believe in Jesus Christ for their salvation (1 Corinthians 6:11; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Philippians 4:13).
  18. What other sins would you be referring to as not getting a reaction from anyone?
  19. I have a maverick 88 with 3 inch 21 pellet #4 buckshot with a sling that holds 20 more shells. Hard to figure needing more than that.
  20. My bad, half asleep typing..............not got this multi quote thing down yet.
  21. Like what rules and laws are you talking about. If its abortion, that's a moral issue not religious. I consider it about personal responsibility. If you do not want a child then protect yourself or do not have sex. Our actions have consequeces . Having unprotected sex can have consequences. It is not the baby's fault. So why make the baby pay with it's life.
  22.             One cannot force their religion on another. I cannot drag someone to heaven with me the same way they cannot drag me to hell with them. I do have a obligation though to tell them tell there is a heaven and a hell, but even if there was no heaven or hell I would still choose the Christian way just for the benefits in this life. Jesus did hang out with sinners, since everyone is a sinner he had no choice. He did not condone their sin, as he told the woman at the well "go and sin no more".

  24. Keep in mind the 10 commandments were a covenant between GOD and the nation of Israel. Gentiles (non Jews) were not included in this covenant.    That is why the apostle Paul had such great success with the message of Grace to the Gentiles and did not have near the same success with the Jews. They had never been thought to keep the law.   And also keep in mind murder is not the unpardonable sin.
  25. It usually takes more than one treatment to get rid of termites. The company I used had a guarantee so they came back and retreated the next two years. I have not seen any after that.   The problem is they only swarm this time of year so you do not know if they are all gone until you go a spring without any.
