  8. Its beena busy year here at Flatwoods forge, and these are some of the first blades cranked out this year. Both are made from 3/8th" thick 5160 leaf springs with oak handles. I still have finish work to do, including oiling the handles, cleanin up the flats and bevels and sharpening both to shav3 sharpness. First is a Kukri for a customer here. Overall length is 16", 10.75" blade. Convex grind. Second is a big camp knife based on the WSK tracker from the movie the hunted. 9.5" blade, 14.5" overall. 2.75" wide at the widest point. Let me know what you guys think Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere

  11. No suprise to me. Can't keep a loaded long gun in the car without a hcp, and the HCP is jst a defense to the illegal act of carrying a firearm. The only states I see as firearms friendly are constiunal carry states. Anything else is that whole infringment thing they talk about in the 2nd amendment. Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere

  17. Welcome to TGO. Is that beechgrove down next to Lake City? Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere
  18. This is my thoughts. If it goes off by any method other than the trigger being depressed then it would have went off trigger covered or not. For the trigger to be depressed by a branch it would also have to depress the grip safety some how, and the manual safety would have to get knocked off. An exposed trigger, especially one thats backed up against the leather of the holster tightly. Its just honestly not a concern for me at all, I know it worries some of you guys, but I made this thread to show off a new piece of leather made very well by a friend, not discuss the merits of open vs closed trigger holsters. 19. Decided to get away from it all with some friends today. Took a nice lil stroll up the holler and across the ridges. Found a nice lil clearing on an old logging road, after fighting through 3 year old new growth under brusb and briars. Built a lil fire, did some carving, cooked some bacon and and coffe and just had a good old time. Its been a truly good day. Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere
  20. I carried it today for a 5 mileer through the roughest nasty logged over country Ive hiked through in awhile. Safety is covered by the holster and never got turned off. I know some of you guys don't like, but I'm gonna rock it for now. I'm comfortable with an uncovered trigger, but I do realize its not for everybody. Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere
  21. Sorry guys Ive been in the woods all day. I plan go see Don at the hosptial as soon as he tells me hes ready to have vistors. Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere

    Webley Mark 6

Its not something I'm intrested in purchasing, he only wanted to know an appx value for insurance reasons and nostalgia. It hasn't been converted, he plans to put it back and pass it on as a family heirloom. Ill try to get pictures. Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere
  23. I have no problems heading this up. Two members have already contacted me about donating via paypal. I have a paypal buisness account along with a card hooked directly to it so I can withdraw the funds and get them to Don immediatley upon reciept instead of the wait. If you would like to donate via paypal or money order or any other means you can pm me for my paypal address and my street address. Money orders should be made out to Don unless you want me to cash them and take it to him in cash for some reason. Thanks guys Ill try to update as he updates me Jordan Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere
  24. After that Id head to Smokey Junction. Them ol' boys love pretty mouth....I mean theyd love to have their pictures taken with all their guns by a strangee. Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere
