  1. I will be the first to say this: I am in management. If not for a union, my job would not be here. I'll elaborate: The corporate site was in Covington, KY. It was a manufacturing site, as well as corporate offices. The union nearly drove the company under, so they simply closed it's doors, and moved it's offices, as well as two manufacturing facilities, to Chattanooga, TN. Voila!, management positions for hire. Thanks, unions! If not for you trying to strangle a company, I would not have my current position!
  2. ILLEGAL immigration is not a crime? What?
  3. Hmmm. Some guys like the stripper on a pole type. Me, personally, I'm a Grace Kelly kinda guy PURDY, ain't they?!
  4. Disgusting. And so is the mentality of anyone who agrees with these tactics. I'm sure this guy forced people to sign crazy loans. All his fault . . . . . . . Remember personal RESPONSIBILITY??
  5. Cool! That's a great "rainy day" project. Let us know how it turns out.
  6. Mike, sometimes we do have more than we can bear. A lot actually. I would speak to you about God, I think others have already, and more eloquently than I could, but I would like to add my two cents. I have seen the very bottom of Hell. At least I thought so at the time. It's all relevant. My son is nine years old. My first wife died nine years ago, from complications due to child birth. I watched her close her eyes for the last time when he was about 12 hours old. I planned a funeral, and took an infant home to raise by myself. I couldn't look at him for quite some time without seeing his mother die, and I hated myself for blaming him and hated myself for blaming myself. I blamed God, I blamed the hospital, doctors, and everyome involved. I blamed her for dying and leaving me alone with this child that I had no idea how to raise. I needed her, and she died. You can see why I hated myself for the self pity, and wondering why God could allow anything like that to happen. Then, I just couldn't take it anymore. I never considered ending it all, simply for the fact that I had a squalling baby boy with a full diaper that needed me more than anything in the world. Heck, I couldn't even get out that way. I was feeding my son one night when he was 2 months old, about 1:30 or 2 in the morning, and I had finally taken more than I could bear. That's when I let go of all that hate, resentment, self-loathing, and blame. I couldn't do it anymore by myself, and no one except Him could help me. I broke down and gave it all away, including my heart. I see my wife everytime I see my boy, and now it's only because he reminds me so much of her. Some folks have an opinion of God that he doesn't exist, like the flying spaghetti monster, and some have the opinion that he doesn't care. Personally, they are entitled to those opinions, but I say that if you have had more than you can bear, it is likely His way of bringing you back to Him. Sorry for being long winded.
  7. hahaha - Sink Hole De Mayo
  8. Sub-MOA groups are always common online. 2" inch groups are not bad at all. There. I said it. Blasphemous, I know. Now, if you want to get serious and shoot sub-MOA, get a very good rifle. I like Remmy's, so I recommend the 700, in one of it's variations. Good guns at good prices. Start reloading. Heck, you could probably significantly decrease your current groups with a little patientce and load development.
  9. 101, Mason, It seems the new hunting moderator has spoken. Apparently, I have been advertising for hunting lodges inadvertently. Patty, please feel free to delete my posts with links. Thanks.
  10. Patty, do you eat a steak, hamburger, chicken, buffalo, etc, etc., when you go out to eat? If you are anything but a vegetarian, you have more than approved of something like a "canned hunt". Simply put, a lot of people today are professionals, and their job keeps them out of the woods. If you don't have the opportunity to do something you love, such as scouting for a hunt, this is a very good alternative. Show disdain if you will, but be sure you know where to place all that disdain . . . . .
  11. Pig Bomb: Super Pigs : Video : Discovery Channel Channel It's almost a civic duty to hunt hogs now. I am visiting some family in Statesboro, GA over the Memorial Day weekend, and my wife's uncle says that they are absolutely covered up with pigs down there. Year round season on 'em. I guess I need to price the non-residents license.
  12. Well, to address two questions 1. There is both public and private land in both areas. The Catoosa wildlife refuge is available for draw hunts, which is unlimited hog. Not sure about other times up there. Tellico plains also has quite a bit of land in the Cherokee National Forest, but also some land to hunt. I have quite a bit of family in the Tellico Plains area, so I hunt private land. 2. Both. Cool link to a nice hunting lodge in Crossville: Caryonah, Tennessee Hunting Lodge, Red Stag, Rams, Exotic Deer, Wild Hog Hunts and Tellico Plains: Appalachia Adventures / Cherokee Guide Service - Hunt the Wild Side of the South !!
  13. Crossville and Tellico Plains. Best Hog hunting in the state.
  14. Rob, I am going to have to respectfully disagree with your statement. Any time you can get anyone interested in hunting, who otherwise would not be, that's a good thing. Remember, hunters and fishermen are the reason we have so much land to hunt and fish, and animals and fish to hunt for. We are the largest conservation group in the world, whether we know it or not. I say let 'em hunt. <Please return this thread to it's normally scheduled topic>
  15. Gerber suspension is a pretty decent one for around $40.
  16. Every Day Carry Personally, I'm fond of the SOG Flash II. I've had mine for about 4 years now. The Twitch II is a darn fine little knife, as well.
  17. Stopped by there yesterday. I'm ready for the range to open, since yuo guys are located about 3 seconds from where I work. Are you the woman who smashed her finger at the cash register?
  18. Another enjoyable hunt. Crows incredibly intelligent and fun to hunt.
  19. "officers have found other aquatic creatures in the river" Sorry. That line cracked me up.
  20. No. He was well short of the state record. 12 ounces as measured by my rapala digital scale. I should say 5lbs 2 ounces vs 5lbs 14 ounces
  21. This is what we did this weekend. The boy's first "bigun" as he calls it.. Darn nice fish that put ol' Dad to shame. I would like to add that this spot weighed in at 5.2. State record is 5.14. Not bad at all.
  22. meh. yeah, he's the best of my lifetime in that respect.
  23. Do I miss W? Nope. He grew the government like no president BEFORE him. Just because our hope and change was a change for the worse, W will not be missed. True conservatism and direct, uninterpreted constistutionalism is sorely missed (even though THAT hasn't been here in my lifetime).
  24. You are absolutely right. I met a guy wearing one of the Che Guevara shirts. I asked if he was a fan of the guy (stirring up pooh, mostly). He didn't have the slightest idea of who Che Guevara was, until I pointed out that he was wearing a shirt with his likeness. He shrugs and says "Who knew?". Wow. Talk about being easily influenced. People today will find someone they think is cool, and mimic that person, good or bad. I think that's how we actually ended up with Obama in the White House. It was the "cool" thing to do.
