  1. I have a older 30hp Deutz tractor, and it does good for bush-hogging, tilling, etc.. I'm to the point where I "need" a front end loader. I'm always needing to move dirt, gravel, and pallets of stuff. With the design of my tractor, front end loaders don't mount easy and I've never seen a 2wd loader tractor that was worthwhile, rear tires always spinning. My intended uses are: 1. general dirt work around house, garden, and property 2. property clean up/tidy up 3. driveway repair 4. moving steel and tooling in/out of shop (hobby metal working) I originally had in mind to get a used 50hp+ 4wd loader tractor and possibly a tow motor. Now I'm starting to think about a skid steer and keep my tractor. I don't know a lot about skid steers, I've rented a few different ones but I'm not sure on maintenance, life expectancy, or brands. I have in mind to get 60-80hp tired machine with hopefully 2500 or less hours. I have no preference on control style, I've used foot controls but wouldn't mind trying joystick. Opinions? Ideas?
  2. The Weston may be out of my price range right now. What about the FoodSaver 4840?
  3. I also read his comment but according to Weston's website doing that will void your warranty. So be careful
  4. For those who have the jar attachment, how often do you use it ? I'm really leaning towards the Weston 2300 but I would not be able to use the jar attachment.
  5. Which model?
  6. My wife and I are wanting to get a vacuum sealer for meats and garden extras. I was looking for recommendations on brands and models. I've looked at the Food Saver 5460 and it sounds good on their site but I wanted first hand experience.
  7. I thought I was ready to be her nurse but that is a rough surgery with a lot of care needed. I'm glad she went ahead with reconstruction now instead of later. Like you said, plastic surgeon expects 6month to 1 year recovery. And yes we couldn't have done it without God!
  8. I feel your pain, it is scary. My wife is just 31. We were lucky in that we found a GREAT doctor and staff. Her first doc sucked to say the least. The best news is, the doc called today to tell us that the path report came back that all of the cancer was removed with a good safety margin(at least that's what I call it, can't remember the actual term). Also, the lymph node that she had to remove came back benign.
  9. She's out of surgery. Both doctors said everything went well. They were able to remove all of the cancer. Thanks for the prayers
  10. My wife goes in tomorrow for a pretty big surgery to remove cancer. They estimate a 5-7 hr surgery. This is her first surgery and first time to be put to sleep. We found out at Christmas that she has cancer and then a couple of weeks ago that it may be in her lymph nodes. Please say a prayer for a safe surgery and a benign test result on the other.
  11. Sounds similar to the Greenlee's that work bought. They are considered "smart meters". I have seen them show voltage where none existed and visversa. I never trusted them. Does it self change between AC and DC? I would try to return it, you will never full trust it even if it starts acting right.
  12. I'm a lineman, so from wet to dry, from muddy field to concrete, it changes every day. The first pair of Irish Setters I had I loved but the last two have not held up well. I can't wear a Muck everyday, they kill my back.
  13. My go to company(Hoffman) for my work boots has stopped making my size in slip ons. I've tried Chipajunk, Redwing, Danner, and Irish Setter and none of these really tickle my fancy. I have not found a store that carries size 14D with any selection(most don't carry any), so I have to order. I found Hoffman a few years ago and have had awesome luck with my lace ups. I would like to find other small companies that have more craftsmanship in their boots, any recommendations?
  14. I really like this one
  15. I somehow missed the range officer when I went to Springfield's site(probably because I was on my phone). I like it a lot.
  16. On Target did one of mine. Also, The Outpost is just outside of Murfreesboro in Christiana

    9mm 1911

I've consolidated most of my calibers and got rid of all my 1911s and while I like my glocks they just don't fit my hands like a 1911 does. I want to stay with 9mm and I'd like to get another 1911. I've looked online at the EMP but from what I've read, due to the composite frame(?) you can't shoot +Ps thru them. Also, I wonder if the smaller frame will fit my hands? What other 9mm 1911 options are out there? I know there is costume shop stuff in the $2k plus range but that's out of my league right now. I'm in the dreaming stages right now, due to unexpected medical bills.

    Side chargers

I would like to see pics of some side chargers. I've been looking at them a lot lately and think I'll probably try one when the funds allow it. I think I like the reciprocating ones better.
  20. I've been using Lucas GunOil for all moving parts and spraying/wiping down the outside with RemOil.
  21. If I understand you correctly: I believe I have my trust set up with my wife and son as heirs, so they would not have to submit finger prints and photos? My wife already doesn't care for firearms, I sure she will love having to go get that stuff done so I can purchase more.
  22. Good info. I ended up using Parker's. he is only 20 min from my house and had awesome customer service.
  23. I never thought about that. Thanks
  24. I'm wanting a different scope(more magnification) on my AR with a 18" bull barrel. Ill mostly shoot between 100-200 yards but would like to try 300. I have a Bushnell AR Optics 4.5-18x40 that I'm not using on anything. How well does it do? Is it worth mounting for what I'm wanting? Ive also looked at a Nikon M-223 Rifle Scope 4-16x 42mm, but I'm not sure I'm gaining enough for the extra money. Any opinions on this scope? Any other one I should consider that is similar.
  25. Thanks. I forgot about their giveaway
