  1. First off...if you are thinking of buying that gun from someone that hasn't filled out the forms and paid the nice $200 tax stamp...be very leery of the deal. I personally would take that barrel off, crush it with a hammer and saw it in to pieces immediately (like...right now, don't waste time, leave work if you have to...I am not kidding). Aside from that...it is VERY easy to swap barrels. Turn a screw and put the new one on. The thing is that the barrels almost cost as much as a whole darn gun. A nice Remington choked birding barrel runs $150 and you can get a whole shotgun with the same barrel for a little over $200 if you shop around.
  2. Thinks guys...I was hoping that since a huge portion of folks carry S&W 42 and other 5 shot revolvers as their CC gun they would have a type of handicap in place. Oh well...it should be fun any way. Might make it to the next match just to watch. Since I am a wheelgunner...that is the only pistol I own that isn't single action.
  3. Ruger SP-101 .357 is my everywhere gun. I have a Smith 642, but the SP gets more carry time simply because it is durable enough to practice with full house .357s without hurting your hand or shooting loose. Despite being a snubby...it is a VERY accurate gun that points very naturally for me. Slicked it up with IOWEGAN's IBOK and put some custom Cocobola Inserts in it and it looks real nice...also it is the Lipsey's model in target grey.
  4. My CCW gun is an SP101...a 5 shot revolver. It would make sense for me to train/compete with a gun that I carry so I would like to use it. Will having a 5 shot revolver put me at an inherit disadvantage in IDPA? For example...is the course a 12 shot course that would force me to drop 2 more rounds in and index them to complete a round?
  5. Hello, Live in Chattanooga and have been a shooter for much of my life. Frequent mouseguns and gunblast and did not know that this forum was around until someone I know mentioned it. I am the administrator of another gun forum called Rugerforum.com. There are some good folks there, and from what I can tell...it is the same way here. If you folks want to know anything about Rugers...I can help. ...yes I am a wheelgunner. Have a great day! Matt C Chattanooga, TN
