  1. Would have been a great opportunity to knock that guy's front teeth out. The guy was an idiot for pulling the trigger, but there is stupidity in leaving that gun there with the safety off. That really isn't a good place for HD gun anyway...better place would be hanging on hooks above that doorway.
  2. Uhh...New Orleans during floods, Los Angeles and Cincinatti during riots, pretty much every city in Oklahoma that has been hit by a tornado. Oh yeah...even Chattanooga CLICK HERE Yeah...they step on all sorts of God given rights, but they have happened in the USA before. Every one of them that has been challenged has fallen flat on its face under the Bill of Rights. DC is banking on nobody challenging it. Given the little "door to door" trick that they tried to play earlier in the year...I am willing to bet there is a huge number of lawyers salivating over this proposal.
  3. Like a revolver...right?
  4. --------------------------- ...I respectfully do NOT submit to a search of my vehicle. ...am I being detained? ...am I under arrest? ...am I free to go? --------------------------- This + manners + not really doing any thing wrong to begin with = Have a nice day
  5. Every one of those ND was just that...people being careless and shooting themselves in the butt (both literally and figuratively). I'll bet none of them were due to the gun failing to function properly. Glock makes a good handgun. Some people like them and some people don't. Same with many, many other manufacturers.
  6. Looks great!
  7. Yeah it is ugly. The orange stock however is not unlike putting lipstick on a pig. Have to say that the other ones in the picture aren't any prettier.
  8. are they still doing the $300 lifetime referral membership?
  9. That is pretty sweet...that guy could make some money selling/renting the jigs.
  10. Does the NRA or NRA-ILA have any info?
  11. Do you remember the guy's first name or description of the guy? If it was my brother in law I will give him a really bad guilt trip...enough to where you should get an apology.
  12. It wasn't bad, but many of us can do much better just perusing the classifieds here.
  13. Many of those guns were in AWFUL shape! Expensive too. The best deal I saw was a Ruger Single six 1972, unconverted 3 screw with factory box and Mag cylinder. 95%+ for $350. Was still there when I left. What I thought was amazing was the ability of some people to pluck down $1000 for an M-1 and still not find the time to shower in a 3 week period. Soap...it is a good thing.
  14. In two of those situations I was looking down the barrel of a BG's gun. Yeah...I have been told that before when bringing up defense type stories of the past, but honestly I am the type of person who takes bugs outside to live another day rather than squash them. Most everyone at one time in there life has been exposed to some type of violence that kinda sets their existing worldview flat on its ear. Am not alone on this one. I know for a fact that most people who get their handgun permit do so as a reactionary behavior from some perceived threat to their well being...be it a recent break in, mugging, or stalker. Anyone who hasn't been caught in a violent situation has been blessed, is lucky, or living on borrowed time. OK - the funny thing is that the door getting kicked in was on the 1600 block of Riverside drive...about 1 mile from Rabbi's shop.
  15. There have been several situations that I have been in where I am glad I didn't have my carry gun or I would have woken the local DA from his nightly slumber. In short...I am afraid that I might have the opposite problem. Here is an example...Earlier this year I was at a relatives house in Nashville and some kids thought it would be cute to kick our front door...well the deadbolt was not on and the door flew open at 11pm while all of us where in the living room. I am one of the people who is blessed with the "fight" rather than "flight" mechanism and damn near killed the first one that I ran down...he was 16. If I were armed at the time...he would probably be dead. There was another when someone attempted to mug me when I was 20. ...another when I confronted someone stealing stuff from my car ...another when a drunk man was beating some lady with a stick down the road from where I live ...another when I was on my bike and had to put it between me and a really mean doggie. In each of those situations I would have been vindicated in my ability to use deadly force, but was fortunate enough not to have done so.
  16. I still haven't figured out why Glock hasn't pacified the nay-sayers on the external safety by bringing some of their "Euro" safety models here!??
  17. Maybe not, but if I were still seeding oats...I sure would
  18. The biggest thing that I kept on doing when first carrying is figit with the holster...every time I stood up and "made sure" that the gun was still there or hasn't moved. I think that poor holster selection was partially to blame, but it did take a while to get used to carrying something new on the belt. It was not unlike getting used to my ring for a couple of months after getting married. After time you won't even think of it, and like a pocket knife you will feel "naked" if you aren't carrying.
  19. CLICK HERE The powder charge space is not as critical as bullet and velocity. Go to any of the reloading sights and they will tell you a "factory duplication" load that can be entered for powder weight if you really want to get close.
  20. I'll be there looking for some furniture to fit a Marlin 39...most of the Marlin pistol grip stock will work. Always on the prowl for 3 screw Rugers, MKII 22s or bulk bullets. I wish they would move the stuff that people actually purchase on one side and put all of the garage sale junk on the other...makes it much more pleasant not to have to embarrassingly act like you are interested in battery powered laser pens and other junk. Also hope (yeah right) that some of the folks setting up tables would actually visit a Sportsman's Warehouse or Benton Shooter's supply prior to setting up just to let them know that they might, just maybe, be overpriced on their products.
  21. I have a load that, at 1850fps with a 405 grain bullet, has over 40 ft/lb of free recoil energy coming from a 7 lb rifle...An evil, evil load. Factory loaded 45/70 rounds are not even close to what a guide gun is capable of.
  22. Great vid...I wish I could waltz out the the backyard and do such tests!! Am jealous.
  23. One word...reload!!! Big money otherwise. 350 grain laser-cast with 26 grains of Alliant 2400 is a "do anything" load.

    best .22 handgun

You aren't alone...Too many folks forget that there are other things outside the semi-auto world. Those people, for some reason, focus on the gun more than the cartridge. 22lr is one of the best. Here
