  1. Come on guys, help me out here.  I hired Stevie Wonder to sing at my birthday party, and now he won't come because of our Stand Your Ground law.  I asked him to look into is heart and find a way to forgive us and he said, "LOOK into my heart?  I'm BLIND!"   http://www.slate.com/articles/arts/culturebox/2013/07/stevie_wonder_s_florida_boycott_his_zimmerman_verdict_protest_is_savvy_and.html
  2. More drama in this thread than a Zimmerman trial jury 4 day reunion!
  3. If you don't pay attention to the misleading headline and actually read between the lines, I think this is Eric Holder pretty much saying the DOJ isn't going to pursue the Zimmerman case.  All the cases after Zimmerman, but not Zimmerman, not now.   http://www.mediaite.com/tv/justice-must-be-done-eric-holder-addresses-tragic-unnecessary-shooting-of-trayvon-martin/
  4.   I get approached like this all the time where I work...by people who have a hate hard-on for Zimmerman, wouldn't dream of joining the NRA, and most certainly voted for Obama...twice.  And yeah, they even say things to me like, "I better get one before Obama bans them."
  5. I wouldn't want to be Zimmerman for the world.  Protests have been going on nationwide and I've been seeing a lot of non-black faces among them.  He is truly "The Most Hated Man In America" right now.  The media is squeezing every bit of ratings they can out of it.  They're going to retry the case for the next few weeks.  And make no mistake, every single time Zimmerman sneezes, he's back in the media regaining his MHMIA title.  So, when DOJ decides not to pursue civil rights charges...more hatred.  When he sues whoever or whatever...more hatred.  When he wins his immunity from civil suits...more hatred.    Basically, he's going to be hated for the rest of his life.    I think his only hope is if the Martins somehow move past their pain and reach out to him.  A picture with them all holding hands would be the most healing event in recent history.  And just might save his life.   The one thing going for him is Robert Zimmerman.  That guy is brilliant.  He's been making the talking heads look like idiots all morning long.  Very calm and logical under fire.  I could only hope that one of my family members would be as good an advocate for me if I were ever in the kind of trouble George is in.
  6. I wasn't there so I will never know exactly what happened.  But, it appears at least one out of two people engaged someone that didn't need to be engaged.  The consequences: one lost his life and the other may lose his freedom (among many other things like money, security, friends, etc.).    I accept that no matter what the verdict is, my takeaway is to keep doing what I'm doing: Being very careful as I carry my firearm to avoid anything that can reasonably be avoided.   I'm no good to anyone dead or imprisoned because somebody's following me or because someone is acting like they're on drugs.
  7. Well, that's it for me.  It's a wrap as far as I'm concerned unless something insane happens later.  The only murder here what Di Maio's done to the prosecution's theories.
  8. Interesting read from ABC's legal talking head says prosecution is ice skating uphill:   http://abcnews.go.com/US/george-zimmerman-prosecutions-woes/story?id=19541263
  9.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=3Xje0Rsd3i8     :stunned:
  10.   "The injuries are so minor that the word slam implies great force," Rao said in response to questioning by prosecutor John Guy. "There was not great force used here." Click here for full coverage of the George Zimmerman Trial Rao said Zimmerman's injuries were not only "not life threatening" but were also "very insignificant." She said the injuries to the back of Zimmerman's head were consistent with hitting the ground but the injuries on his face were from consistent with one punch or strike.    Under questioning by defense attorney Mark O'Mara, Rao acknowledged she was appointed by state attorney Angela Corey, who is overseeing the prosecution of Zimmerman. She also conceded that while Zimmerman's injuries were consistent with one punch, it does not mean that he was not hit repeatedly. "Could it of been four times?" O'Mara asked Rao, who replied, "That's not my opinion but it is possible."    If your going to quote the article use all of it, not just the part that fits your agenda. There has been quite enough of that BS from the news media with this case. :2cents:     No agenda.  Just seemed like a nice seque into yesterday's "action."  The medical expert's testimony has been getting a lot of buzz at my workplace.  Rachel Jeanteal. . . meh. . . not so much. It seems like people are really starting to pay attention now.  I'm not getting the slam-dunk vibe from either side.
  11.     I agree completely!  But I also can't help but think. . .if Zimmerman is exaggerating about the "attack" then what other parts of his interview should I question?   This trial's getting interesting.
  12.   Kinda like what happened today?:   "Dr. Valerie Rao, who was called by the prosecution to provide her assessment of Zimmerman's injuries based on photos, cast doubt on Zimmerman's claim his head was repeatedly bashed against the pavement as he fought with Martin in the Feb. 26, 2012 incident. "The injuries are so minor that the word slam implies great force," Rao said in response to questioning by prosecutor John Guy. "There was not great force used here."   Rao said Zimmerman's injuries were not only "not life threatening" but were also "very insignificant." She said the injuries to the back of Zimmerman's head were consistent with hitting the ground but the injuries on his face were from consistent with one punch or strike." 13. Keep in mind, the anti-gunners are against a wall now.  They're desperate, angry, and focused.  All it takes is for one leftist nut to think, "Wouldn't it be funny if I infiltrated this march and just let off a few rounds for giggles?"   "This is Wolf Blitzer reporting live from our 24/7 coverage of the ASSUALT ON THE CAPITAL" . . . cue Michael Bay music and flashy, blood-soaked, bullet-holed graphic.   It'll be the Brady Campaign version of the Wonder Twins:   Failed gun legistation. . . RE-ACTIVATED FORM OF. . . an Assault Weapons Ban.
  14. I posted the long version of this a while back here: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/62488-black-conservative-leaders-press-conference-for-2nd-amendment-rights/   I'm very glad people are watching this.  Spread the word.  Rap artists and Jesse Jackson don't speak for the entire "Black Community."
  15. In light of the recent controversy with Russell Simmons attacking Colion Noir and erroneously claiming that Black people have "no time" for the NRA, I thought this video should be seen by as many people as possible because the MSM will bury this as deep and as fast as they can.   Full Vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKMi023Ofro   Short Vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9RABZq5IoaQ   And if you haven't heard:  http://twitchy.com/2013/03/08/russell-simmons-gets-schooled-by-gun-enthusiast-colion-noir-turns-to-yoga-for-comfort/
  16.   Poor Thelma.  She was a moonbat in every sense of the word.  I don't know where she was going with that.  She said she didn't want to talk about "guns" in 2013, but spent a long time talking about guns "downstairs", and guns in Newtown, and how we spend too much time talking about guns.  I bet she'd love to talk about gun "bans" though.   Glad to see this get through the Senate.  Now just waiting on my employer's legal team to rip it apart and find ways to continue to keep me from having my gun in my car.
  17. Waitaminute!  For the past couple months, according to Piers, there is ZERO, NADA, NO REASON for civilian to own an AR.  Now, all of a sudden, well I guess some people in TX need them for hog hunting?    I'm really getting tired of this fool.
  18. Naturally, no matter what good we do, the other side will always try to paint us as "mean" and "unruly."   http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/01/29/neil-heslin-father-of-newtown-victim-heckled_n_2572503.html   I didn't see any heckling in that video.  He asked a question and he got many answers.  No one shouting and no one interrupting him.  No one making fun of him.  At worst, it was talking out of turn.  And while that is usually considered rude, it's to be expected in a townhall style hearing.    If you don't like scary answers, then don't ask scary questions.
  19. Wow.  That took a lot of courage.  Much needed common sense and the crowd's reaction reflects that.
  20. Gun control advocates including New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, as well as various media outlets, have released data claiming to represent the views of NRA members, despite the fact that none of those surveys had access to the NRA’s membership list. The NRA survey of 1,000 randomly-selected NRA members across the country is the only legitimate survey of NRA members in existence.   The data from this survey indicates that NRA members are united in their desire for Washington to focus on keeping firearms from the mentally ill and to reject unconstitutional gun control measures that infringe on Second Amendment rights.   “Mayor Bloomberg’s claims that gun owners are divided are totally false. It is nothing more than an attempt by anti-gun activists to further their long-standing political agenda,” said NRA-ILA Executive Director Chris Cox. “American gun owners and Second Amendment supporters are ready for Washington to put politics aside and come together to fix our broken mental health system.” Key Findings: 91% of NRA members support laws keeping firearms away from the mentally ill. 92% of NRA members oppose gun confiscation via mandatory buy-back laws. 89% oppose banning semi-automatic firearms, often mistakenly called “assault rifles”. 93% oppose a law requiring gun owners to register with the federal government. 92% oppose a new federal law banning the sale of firearms between private citizens.   Methodology – The national survey was conducted by OnMessage Inc. Telephone interviews were conducted January 13-14, 2013. This survey consists of 1,000 NRA members and was stratified by state to reflect voter distribution in the 2012 presidential election. The margin of error for this survey is +/- 3.09%.   http://www.nraila.org/news-issues/news-from-nra-ila/2013/1/survey-finds-nra-members-united.aspx?s&st&ps   http://www.nraila.org/media/10850041/113topline.pdf
  21. Biden's running for the hills away from any talk of gun bans and praying for the magazine ban.  But, he says we don't need them after an earthquake.  A shotgun'll do nicely.  Oh, and he's really bad at math:   "Biden said that gunman, who had 30-round magazines, had to swap out "four or five times." If limited to 10 rounds, however, the vice president argued the gunman would have had to swap out 25 or 30 times."   http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2013/01/24/bidens-gun-advice-for-earthquakes/
  22. When I saw the original vid, my first thought was, "Does he NOT know that several of his Youtube subcribers are anti-gun activists?"    A good way to spot them is to look through the comments for any over-the-top racist comment.  They LOVE to plant those in gun vids.  Look at their subscriptions and comment history and you'll probably find plenty subcriptions/posts in VPC and Brady Bunch-like vids talking about how stupid gunowners are.    They're watching pro-gun Youtubers like hawks.    Jeager just learned the hard way that banning anti-gun commenters is only half the battle.  The other half is your own mouth.
  23. Piers is starting to get out of his depth now.  And if the Giffords aren't careful, he's going to drag them down with him.   Guest are coming prepared.  Wish Ben hadn't repeated the "assualt weapons" tag though, but I have a feeling he was just humoring Piers.   He's going to make himself toxic to the left-wing in a week or two.
  24. Holder must be grinning ear-to-ear right now. Investigation reports zero culpability in F&F, Obama re-elected, and now this.   A devout Democrat once told me he was the worst Attorney General in history.  And yet, he still finds a way to win.  That contract with Satan must've been a doozy.
  25.   This!   If Jesse & Ted can chill out and debate intelligently, then Alex could have.  Unfortunately, Piers handled this perfectly.  Instead of being the raving lunatic he's been over the past few months, he sat back and let Alex look like the unreasonable one.  There is no way in Hades that performance helped our cause in any way.  Fortunately, Piers' ratings suck, so it didn't hurt us too much.
