2. Sounds like what people said about glock. Composites, polymers, and such have potential to outperform their metal counterparts. Tavor, fs2000, both are polymers. But hey, I know that there are those that will not accept it until it is battle proven, Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
3. Jason Brant's, The Hunger series is alright.  Its not quite a zombie book but it does an alright job of portraying the challenges and risks of not being prepared early on.  My complaints are that I think the author uses too many plot devices to move things forward, as if he couldn't really think his way through certain situations.  I am also highly critical of stuff like this so take it with a grain of salt.  Also, guns use clips in his book so the author isn't really a gun guy.
4. Might I recommend another option. Look at TN Arms Co. Awesome bunch of fellow TN gunners that make the absolute best Hybrid lowers. They have torture tested the crap out of them and these things hold up. They are hybrid nylon 6-6 lowers with molded in brass inserts for buffer tube and pistol grip screw threads. You can get them for as little as $35 on sale and they even offer a completely clear lower. I have been following them for some time and they have handled all of the "if it isn't 7075 aluminum" criticisms well and have won over a lot of people. They offer life time warranties and have worked with magpul to match their colors. Also, custom engravings for little cost. http://www.tnarmsco.com/sale/ S Main Ave Dyersburg‎ TN‎ 38024 United States (731) 334-5106 Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with this company. 5. I have 3 ARs and have owned 6 over the last 2 years. Each one was either an attempt to achieve a purpose or served a purpose. My ARs are a 10.5" pistol that I use for fun and home defense; A 16" sig with magpul as my go to rifle for fun and small game hunting; and a 16" colt comp for competition shooting and shooting small groups. I shoot the sig most, the pistol second most and the colt least. Each had a different cost and serves a different purpose. That said, my sig is my favorite and is my SHTF go to gun. All are solid and reliable. My other three were attempts to achieve what the colt achieved. Small groups. I miss each of them but sacrifices had to be made. I have built all but two of my rifles. So, decide for yourself what you are trying to accomplish and built/buy for that end. If you feel you have already accomplished it, there are a ton more guns out there to spend your cash on. 8.
I cast and shoot my with Blackout for 4.4 cents a shot for subsonic and 7.3 cents a shot for supersonic. 30 caliber is a lot easier to cast for than 22. Might be a little more because prices on primers have went up since I did these calculations but it is still really cheap.
I am leery of casting my own 30 cal due to having a house full of children and not wanting to deal with the potential lead contamination. Have you ever considered selling your cast bullets? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
9. I was at A&H yesterday as well and they had CFE pistol as well as Surplus pistol powder, both in large jugs. I just didn't see any pistol powder in 1 lbs jugs. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
10. Same boat here. The only 22lr I buy over $0.08 Is the SK red cans. That said, I have about 2500 rounds of 22lr left and at least one or two more Appleseed events to do this year with two of my boys. It's possible I could exhaust my supply this year. After that, not really sure what I am going to do. Maybe switch to using .223 for the same purpose since I can reload that for about $0.18-0.20 a round. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

13. http://vuurwapenblog.com/2014/01/12/ar-15-muzzle-device-comparison/   I saw this and thought it might be of interest to some here that may be looking for a good muzzle device.  Actually, this article raised my respect of the standard A2 flash hider a bit more.

16. So, I had a discussion with one of the older employees at the nolensville and old hickory walmarts. The regional director over most nashville, smyrna and, I believe, mt juliet walmarts made the call to restrict sales of all ammo to 1 box. As for the federal 40 100rd boxes, their prices vary widely between walmarts. Antioch sells them for $36. Nolensville sells them for $26. However, antioch has AE 223 black box 55gr for under 7.50 a box. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 2
17. So, I have recently finished a stent of Apocalyptic novels and figured I would write a bit about each of them. Most recents: One second after. - well told story about the effects of an EMP. This book had me thinking a bit which is good. However, after some research I found the premiss to be quite flawed. EMP will likely not destroy transportation. That said, still a good novel - http://standeyo.com/News_Files/NBC/EMP.protection.html - http://jalopnik.com/5937778/how-to-prepare-your-car-to-handle-an-emp-and-why-you-shouldnt-bother I give this book a nod. Two book series - Collapse and Resistance by Richard Stephenson. Decent books. Written by a gun guy who spends to much time on gun descriptions that break the flow of the story. This story is also based on an EMP strike but things decend into chaos in a matter of hours. While I thought the author did a decent job on his characters, his chaos was unbelievable and his bad guys were too cliché. Also, first book ends way to abruptly. I give this series a meh... Two book series - The Persied Collapse and Event Horizon. Another EMP disaster. I give the author props for setting up a perfect storm of events that would decend the country into chaos over time. That said, the overall character development was inconsistent and too many plot devices were relied upon to move the story forward. Half way through the second book I just stopped caring and didnt finish it. I give this series a Nope. I may write a similar set for zombie novels I have read. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 2
18. I am a fan of the oculus scopes at Bass Pro Shops. They have excellent glass for a low price. I have the 4-16x for my 308. On an AR, I would probably do the 3-9x BDC for shooting out to 600 yards. Really, I guess I'd depends on if I was ringing steel or going for 6" or smaller groups at that distance. 19. I manage a team of IT professionals and have interviewed many people and have read many resumes. Here are a couple of tips. * Tailor each and every resume for the position you apply for. * Do not include your entire job history, just your relevant job history. However, don't leave gaps in employment, as that raises questions. * Put the most relevant stuff to the job first. (contact info, what your qualifications are, etc...) * Spell check and work on presentation style grammar. * Bullet points help. Not required but help. * Last, but not least, be honest about your skills. Nothing ends an interview faster for me than when somebody says they know Java and cannot tell me what a Function is. I don't hire programmers, but if you but it on your resume, you better damn well be ready to talk about it. Outside of the resume, work on your 30 second resume. Meaning, work on a script that you can present in an elevator, or a screening call that says what makes you qualified for the position. You need to be confident, but not cocky. Last bit of advice from me. Be prepared for the interview. If you can, bring with you a portfolio that shows what you can do. One of my best hires was a guy who we sent about 6 questions to ahead of time. He walked in with six packets of paper, each one was one or more pages he wrote on an flight from brazil to the US two days prior to the interview. I knew my decision in minutes. 23. I, again, have the pleasure of offering my thanks to my secret santas. I recieved a package last night. In it was an aluminum Colt tactical pen with light that will be joining me at the range. I also received two memoranda notebooks that will be used for tracking my load development data and shot groups. In addition to those, the package also had a Swiss tech utili-key that is going on my keychain, a tools logic Ice Companion that will be going in my bug-out/bug home bag I am building, as well as a mini-maglite that will be going in my camping bag. As if all of that weren't enough, There was also a Swiss Army issued cleaning kit in an extremely handy leather pouch. All I usually have at the range with me is a bore snake. I am exited to have this join me! To top it off, I received a Christmas card with it. Thank you, again. I am very blessed to have these and excited to use them! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
