  1. Match and Interceptor now available again.
  2. I bought a brick of the Aguila 40gr interceptor and one of the 40 grain match.  Prices were reasonable but shipping (each order has it's own shipping charge as they can not combine shipping with a previous order) was about $30 or 3 cents a round.  Combined about 13 cents a round with shipping isn't that bad though with today's prices and I needed it.   I hope it works with my 22LR Sig conversion kit.  The reviews I could find on both weren't bad.
  3. IMO there is no right or wrong answer.  It is up to each person and what they feel comfortable with.  We have two 357 mag K frames and a full size 45 auto as well as a 12ga pump loaded with 00.  I am very comfortable with all given the situation and my wife is very comfortable with her S&W Model 19-3 357mag revolver.  I fully recognize there might be situations we would be undergunned (multiple determined attackers etc) when we have access to only one firearm but it seems a practical tradeoff for us given that we live a pretty low risk lifestyle in a low violent crime area.  JMO
  4. I've bought two revolvers in the last month.  A S&W Model 19-3 357mag 2 1/2" snubby that my wife will use as her bedside gun and for her vehicle after she gets her HCP.  Prelock and pinned barrel.  She felt a little intimidated by the autos we looked at and liked the simplicity of a revover.  She will carry 38spl +P in the 19-3.  It is chambered for six rounds and she feels much more comfortable not having to be concerned with racking the slide, clearing misfeeds etc.  Just point and shoot.   I also bought a Ruger Security Six SS 4" 357Mag 4" chambered for six rounds as a woods, mountain trout fishing handgun.  I can carry either holstered or in my fishing vest and not have to worry about it getting beat up.  It is built like a tank and can easily handle full 357 loads.   I can see why those that don't spend a ton of time at the range can decide on a revolver as their best choice.
  5. As for the original question, I don't see how you could complete the shooting requirement Tennessee requires online.
  6. A little over 3 weeks for mine.  Application was submitted mid January.
  7. I'm really impressed you remember your basic training days so clearly.  I took basic at Ft Knox late 1970 as a draftee and thought I had been dropped on another planet.  Its all just a blur now but I remember thinking it was nothing like the military movies I had seen.  LOL.
  8. I just bought my wife a S&W 19-3 357 magnum for her side of the bed and for carry in her car after she completes her carry class.  The DA trigger pull is very smooth and she has begun getting comfortable with it with light 38spl loads.  She could never get comfortable with my 12ga pump(my HD weapon of choice) or with my SigP220 45.  She says a revolver just seems more natural to her.  I'm not going to try to argue with her about it.
  9. Congrats.  I applied on January 14th and had mine a litttle over 3 weeks later.
  10. Although relatively new to pistols, I've hunted with shotguns and rifles practically my whole life.  Safety was always stressed from the time I handled my first .22.  Frankly, I don't want to be anywhere around several of the people that were in my concealed carry class a few weeks ago when they have a loaded firearm.  It's one reason I haven't purchased a range membership as much as I would like to.  It's the same reason I always avoided public hunts on WMAs.
  11. I applied at the Chattanooga DMV Monday Jan 14th and had my fingerprints done the same day.  I received my permit last Saturday  Feb 9th.  About 3 1/2 weeks and I was very pleased it was processed that quickly.
