Governor Phil Bredesen Vetoes HB0962 (Restaurant Carry Bill)
Volzfan replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
We both know he's useless, as I'm sure many others do also, but if I don't send my Senator my thoughts on the issue then I'm not doing all that I can do. I don't know how many more of us here on TGO live in his district but we should all send one or two emails a day to him anyway. I would like to see everyone on TGO send him as well as the others that voted against the bill multiple emails until this gets done. It's more useful than spending all of our time on TGO just *itchin. sen.douglas.henry@legislature.state.tn.us While you're at it send emails to Sherry Jones also. rep.sherry.jones@legislature.state.tn.us -

What has Jim Cooper got to do with this? My 1st emails have been sent to my 2 legislators, who both voted against the bill. Doug Henry and Sherry Jones both have to go! I would faint if they voted for the veto over-ride. -
Then send him/her 3 or 4 emails.

While I believe that the NRA has done some good things for gun owners they are not the strong lobbying group that they would have us believe. I believe that LaPierre is only there to pad his pockets. There are supposedly around 80 million gun owners in the US. Why can they only get 4 million to join as members? If we could really see that they were ALWAYS on the front line fighting for our uncompromised 2A rights then they would get members but they are to quick to accept those compromises and then tell us they are on our side. More and more lawmakers are voting against the NRA because they are not afraid of losing that vote anymore. I am an NRA member but I am more proud to be a member of GOA. Locally TFA is doing a great job of fighting for our 2A rights here in TN and you should consider joining that group. I'm not saying don't join the NRA but don't think that they are the only option. What ever you do be active and vocal in our local issues. The restaurant carry bill fight was a great example that is not over quite yet. The members here did an outstanding job of communicating with our lawmakers. I hope you are still calling and emailing Bredesen. to all of you who have been active in this and all of our gun related bills this year. Keep it up!

This day for a race fan is like New Years Day for a college football fan. I love it. While I'm not a big Indy car fan I still enjoy watching because of the speeds that they run. I've been to an Indy car race here and they are nail biters for me on the restarts. The speeds are awesome. Then the 600 at Charlotte! I've been to that race 3 times and love that track and that race. I've been to about 55 Cup races plus probably 40 Nationwide/Busch races so Needless to say I'm a big NASCAR fan.

Well my Rep. was one of the no votes on HB0962. I have sent her emails before and got nothing at all from her. Not even one of the generic "Thanks for letting me know your stance and I'll keep it in mind" type replies. (That's all I got from Sen. Doug Henry) I sent her an email the other day after their vote to ask why she voted the way she did. I also asked why she never replied to any of my emails. I have written to many other Reps. and Senators about the Restaurant Carry bill as well as other issues and I have gotten replies from EVERY one of them and they don't even represent me. I told her that too. Her answer was that she was SOOOO busy. BS!!! I know they are busy but others found the time to reply. She even has an assistant that helps with things. She told me that assistant has not seen any other emails from me. It's time for Sherry Jones to go. If you live in her district please be sure to email her questioning her vote and tell you that we have taken notice and we are giving her notice. Let's kick her to the curb.

Done. Thanks Nikki! God Bless You!

Yes it was. Focus turns to the Governor now. Time for Doug Henry to go. He was one of the no's. He represents my district and I'll do all that I can to retire him!

I have always seen them go exactly as it is listed on the Senate Floor Calendar page that is next to the video screen. If that's the case it should be the 5th item. I guess 9am doesn't really mean 9am. OK here they go.

This is all that was said about the brass seller in the OP and it was at the end of the story. It sounded like the guy that you gave the money to was somehow involved with stealing the money. This part of the last explanation get's me up to speed. It would have been nice to have this info in OP.I hope that you get your brass eventually. File a mail fraud charge with the USPS. It can be done online. https://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/contactUs/filecomplaint.aspx

I was just at the Sam's on Antioch Pike this week and asked the attendant if you had to be a member to buy gas and he said yes. I've been buying gas for years there. The pump says "Insert Membership Card or payment card" and thats why I asked. That sounds like anyone could put in the payment card and buy gas but he said no, that was not the case and that you have to be a member. I don't know anything about the .05 cent discount.

Seems this thread is drifting. I clicked to see what I had missed in the last 24 hrs and I though that I had clicked the wrong thread.
