  1. I bet everyone in that office had to change undies. Not to mention did that shotgun fall apart when it hit the floor?
  2. The only problem I would find with traveling to Michigan would be not wanting to come back here.
  3. I still don't like ALL of the "No Knock" warrants that get served. I am sure some of the arrests could be done just as easily by simply waiting for the idiot to exit his domicile. Everyone HAS to come out sooner or later.
  4. So you purposefully created a presentation with properly worded signs to give to an establishment that already has improperly worded signs just to make sure that you are not allowed to carry there? Well done my friend. You truly have stepped above and beyond the call of duty for the other side. Thanks. Let's get more places properly worded so we cannot legally carry in there. At least if the sign is incorrect they don't have legal ground to have you arrested unless you fail to leave. Way to go. Kwik Just made the ignore list.
  5. Me too. I have a picture of my dad in his Hooch in Vietnam somewhere.
  6. Many military members would follow orders but I know many also would not. I swore an oath to uphold lawful orders. IF and that is a big IF there were a civil war I don't believe it would be as "clear cut" as it was a hundred plus years ago. I think the "fronts" would be too large to have a clear sense of who is the enemy. Think of Jericho (the series) where towns were fighting against each other. This is the Scenario that I think would happen. This is a scary scenario.
  7. Unfortunately, people bash all LEO's because you remember the bad ones more than you do the good ones. Can you tell me the last 5 restaurants where you got good service? Now tell me the last 5 where the service or food was awful. See what I mean. Last night I had to contact my cellular company. Before I ever reached a live individual I already "knew" that it was going to be a bad exchange from what happened the last time I contacted them. Well, I was presently surprised. Flavio (that was his name) was very helpful and had my situation resolved in no time and even gave me a credit on my bill for the inconvenience. Now, if I have to call in again I will remember talking to Flavio and think that I might actually have an enjoyable encounter. With police officers, because of the "position of authority", one negative experience affects you until you have a positive experience and lets face it, the majority of people only experience police officers during a traffic stop where they are usually giving out tickets. Glad you are doing what you feel you were called to do. I respect your decision and that you have a difficult job to do. As long as you act professionally and if you need to search my vehicle explain why you think you do then you might get the go ahead. Otherwise, I will be doing it under duress and I will state as much while I call my attorney.
  8. Sounds like the situation will be resolved in the best interests of everyone (except maybe his insurance company.)
  9. Unrelated but I like this one: e: Or since this is a gun forum:
  10. Not Pabst - Needs to be RC Cola
  11. Jack, the problem is not always the gun store. Too many people watch Law & Order or Numbers or some other Cop show and see all of the cops carrying Glocks (U.S. Marshall's "Keep it in your suit unless I tell you to take it out. Get yourself a Glock and lose that nickel-plated sissy pistol") They go to the dealer and say give me a Glock and the dealer wishing to make a sale gives the customer exactly what they ask for. Now, as to why we "hear" about so many of the ND's from ANY weapon? It couldn't have anything to do with the fact that we are connected literally and figuratively to the entire world at every second of the day. You have a computer with instant access to news, 24 hour news networks, cell phones with news, youtube, newspapers etc. Years ago this type of story would have been a small blurb that no one knew about unless they lived in that town. Now I can get the Yazoo City Herald (http://www.yazooherald.net/news.html) on line. I can even get the Baden Baden Tablet - http://www.badisches-tagblatt.de/html/index.html So, just as there are so many computer viruses written for Windows and almost none for Mac or Linux, the majority of the ND's that you will hear about are with Glocks.
  12. That's why McLemore's is out of business now. They stopped selling cigarettes and beer to the kids. A friend of mine from high school that I new was conservative but wasn't in to guns now has her permit and has a couple and is trying to find the perfect carry gun for a mom.
  13. As Mars signature quotes Robert E. Lee..... Duty is the sublimest word in the language. You can never do more than your duty. You should never wish to do less.
  14. This isn't making it harder on the LEO it simply is not making it EASY for them. If the LEO has a true reason to search my vehicle then he can produce a dog or a coworker or at the very least articulate that reason. Simply stating that he has probable cause is not a reason. I would not allow an officer in to my house with out a warrant. Why? Maybe one of the contractors who were there fixing the air conditioner had a bit of dope in his pocket and maybe he accidentally dropped it. It isn't mine, I don't use the stuff, but guess who would get the ticket/arrested because of its mere existence. The same goes for my car. If a buddy of mine happened to be a dope smoker and his stash accidentally fell out of his pocket while I was giving him a lift home who do you think would get the ticket if the cop "had probable cause" to search my vehicle and I "having nothing to hide" just let him? Not my buddy who is at home searching his house for his stash. I also can assure you that my buddy will not be calling up the DA to say that it was his stash. There are lots of reasons NOT to let an officer search your vehicle. P.S. I don't smoke dope, I don't hang out with people who do.
  15. That is obnoxious.
  16. Then you all MUST AGREE this one is the best: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYJuKX2j-Cw[/ame] [ame] [/ame]
  17. You tube didn't like that one either
  18. I used to listen to this one over and over again while driving backwards through my girlfriends neighborhood with she and I screaming the lyrics and laughing hysterically the summer after my senior year of High School. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNdEu9s5qUU[/ame]
  19. The officer had no reason or probable cause based on the owner of the vehicle having a firearm and a permit. This is why there was no reason to bring the permit or the pistol in to question until necessary. When the officer runs the DL he will find out if the person has a permit. At that time he can ask the person for their permit and the person must show it. The individual still does not have to state that they are armed.
  20. Police officers CAN NOT do what they want. If you see one doing something against the law it is your duty as a citizen to contact their superiors and have them correct the problem. You have the right as a citizen to place them under arrest. My first question is how do you know they are off duty? My point is there are plenty of places that officials can carry that you can't. Try to carry on to federal property and see what happens.
  21. So a police officer coming in to arrest a shop lifter shouldn't be allowed to carry his fire arm in there? You really think so? You want to open carry - Go for it, just don't cry when some one doesn't like it and asks you to leave. If you were to come to my house with your gun on your hip you would be asked to leave it in your car. I don't know you well enough to trust you around my kids with your gun. I trust my kids and my family, I don't trust you. I guess I just assured that you would not be coming to my house, oh darn.
  22. Well there goes that theory. Seriously, if you are asked to leave, do so. Don't argue just walk out the door. If your daughter is shopping with her friends and you forgot to charge your cell phone, take your daughters and don't worry about it. Gee, who can I sue today.
  23. TN_HP - you gave them TOO MUCH INFORMATION. A simple the small end is where the bullets come out probably would have been enough for them.
  24. Unfortunately, rights are determined by society. They always have been and always will be. Our founding fathers were members of a society that determined that the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness were some of the biggies. They wrote a document declaring the rest. Obviously they also knew enough to know that they were not all powerful and did not know everything so they left a way to change the constitution and the bill of rights. Unfortunately our current system of Government has found a way to usurp this by creating legislation from the bench. They are letting the courts determine what the laws should be instead of the people. They are allowing SCOTUS to create laws when they can't get them passed on capital hill. SCOTUS is only supposed to determine the constitutionality of a law, not create new law. The decision coming later this month should go our way due to the wording of the constitution but I won't hold my breath. It should also be tightly restricted to DC, but again I won't hold my breath. You can argue this until the cows come home but society as a whole determines what is a right and what is a privilege. As for traveling freely - ever notice a no trespassing sign? That means you don't have a RIGHT to go on that property.
