  1. No child deserves that. Any rational adult should have stepped in and taken the beating. If there were a group of people, there is no way that they would have been subdued by an individual
  2. I had the same situation. Mine expired end of May. I put in the paperwork (through the mail) middle of March. I had to call and request the letter. Ended up with 2 received through mail and 1 from fax. Kept it in my wallet folded up next to my permit. Thank GOD I don't have to do that anymore. Goes back to the logic that they only print them every few days. Glad you got yours back.
  3. I've seen crazyness before, I love DeWalt tools but I would NEVER use that thing.
  4. Eddie, I cannot imagine how I would feel if I lost my wife especially at such a young age. My prayers are with you and hope that you can find solace in the fact that at least she is at peace.
  5. Came today - 88 days later. So, if you have an expiration within the next 90 days, get it in on Monday or you will likely be calling for a letter/temporary.
  6. So which is the right side? Are white people devils? Can you prove that we are not? After all, we destroy just about everything that we touch. I can't express the fact that I think all nibs are nats and all nats are slocks therefor all slocks are nibs? Just because one group of people doesn't like what the other group has to say doesn't mean they don't have a right to say it. Why is this not an area for legitimate debate? Reasonable people can debate. There could be evidence some where that proves all white people are devils (though I have never seen any.) When the right to peaceably gather and free speech are removed then the government has totally taken control and this isn't America anymore. You speak of Russia from 40 years ago.
  7. and it has been proven that as long as the speech/action is agreed by the majority then nothing will happen to the person. Remember the Berkley City Council that gave special consideration to Project Pink to demonstrate in front of the Recruitment Office? Wasn't this in direct opposition to the statement above? The only thing that happened was that their "right" was taken away. They had to move to the other side of the street.
  8. A "ban" on anything is wrong. I see the futility on the "war on drugs" as much as I see it on the "war on terror". We are picking the wrong "battles" to fight. We should be striving for and demanding better education on every level. Once that happens, and our children are actually taught to THINK for THEMSELVES and not to spew from their mouths the ideology of their teachers/professors will we be able to put things like "hate speech" behind us. The problem is, it runs from all sides of the coin. A word is just that. It has no body, no physical representation until it is manifest in to action. The action is already punishable therefor what is the point in banning the word?
  9. I will wait until the end of this month since I will only have 2 months left on my extension and see where they are. This office is getting ridiculous and the person that did the "expose" should be drawn and quartered. Then again, I don't think the dang things should expire. They wouldn't if it weren't for the revenue stream for the state. Same thing with Drivers License. You should keep it until some one takes it away from you because of driving issues or you reach 70 and then you should have to re do the driving test every few years.
  10. Yet when they continue to build up areas that are homes to wild animals, the animals must go somewhere.
  11. (dictionary.com)What does this have to do with whether or not a word should be allowed. In essence this is what it boils down to - does the majority like what this word means? There is the n word that is used in just about every single rap lyric of every gangsta rap song. If I a thirtysomething year old white suburbanite uses it I get labeled a racists and if I am in the "wrong" part of town could get beaten. Does the word have merit? Outlawing speech just because "you" think it has no merit or "society" thinks it has no merit is WRONG!!!! Which one of us can actually tell what word has merit and worth? Those are both defined in a belief structure and not by only one person. If I feel that a word is worthless I will not use it. So far I have gotten plenty of mileage from the words I paid for in school.
  12. So because the speech "doesn't have merit" it should be outlawed? I don't believe in God. You can't prove the existence of God therefor speech about God should be outlawed.
  13. Without resorting to slipper slope what good do I see coming out of some imbecile standing on a podium shouting out what ever they want? It gives me the opportunity to teach my children about truth and how important it is that you check your facts before you speak. A friend of mine once said we have two eyes, two ears and one mouth. We should look more and listen more before we speak more. What if speech was outlawed 40 years ago? What would Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. have done? He would have been arrested and thrown in jail because the "majority" did not like his message. What if speech was outlawed now? We wouldn't be able to have this discussion. The great thing about living in a free society is just that: It is free. With freedom comes responsibility. If I stand up in a crowded theater and shout that I think all black people should go back to Africa, I must be willing to suffer the consequences of my actions. If those consequences are that I get beat up because some member of the viewing audience had temporary insanity based on what I said then I take the beating and move on. Do I think that there should be a place in Idaho where white supremacists live and espouse their belief's? Sure, after all, there is a little India, little China, little Italy, little Isreal in every town, city or state. Why shouldn't people be allowed to congregate in the same area that have the same belief's?
  14. So because "you" see no good that can come out of some ones speech it is okay to restrict it? I have to respectfully disagree. While it may not appeal and may even enrage you (inciting a riot is a crime already) I remember an old adage that I am teaching my children - There are legitimate points to be made about gun control too, but that doesn't mean I support it in the least. A word is nothing more than a contraction of the diaphragm passing air through the vocal cords to make sound finally shaped by the mouth and tongue. Nothing more. I may not like what people have to say, but fortunately the framers of the constitution and the bill or rights knew enough to know that simply saying a word should not be a crime. Actions are what are crimes. (I know I can say some things and be tried for treason and I disagree with that too.) Hate crimes have no place either other than to add a charge to a crime and increase the sentence. Not that it does ANY good.
  15. Weber Grills are awesome and relatively inexpensive for the kettle variety. Sorry, I don't live out that way or I would bring mine.
  16. Did you work all the live long day? or was it just to pass the time away?
  17. You live in the same town as my mother in law. Maybe the next time I convince her to let me shoot on her property we can meet up and shoot and pick.
  18. All of my guns are within 5 feet of each other. I would open the safe and grab them. That is assuming this is a scenario that I actually have to leave Memphis. In a Katrina type situation I would be holding up in the house with all of my ammo etc. I am sure between the neighbors I will be able to get food. Exchanging food for protection is a good thing.
  19. As long as the office isn't posted, I carry. If doc has a problem then he doesn't have to accept my insurance or co-pay because I won't go to him anymore.
  20. Don't know about where you are, but we didn't have a single problem with the race. We were watching it in HD. Actually we recorded it. The only issue I have is that the new DVR isn't Tivo. That rocked. As for an antennae, well, you get what you pay for
  21. When I was a teenager, it was not uncommon for me to lock myself in the room with the Rockman Soloist on and play until my fingers burned. The callouses on my fingertips were so thick I could dang near stick a sewing needle in half way. I don't have near the callouses on the fingertips now but will play for the kids every chance I get.
  22. Shadow - again, unfortunately, the most of the time people deal with police officers face to face is when they are getting the rest of the information comes from the newspapers and the television. Again, unfortunately, one bad apple does spoil the public opinion of the bunch. If officers want a better reputation (and if my wife would let me I would suit up) they should ensure that when they do that traffic stop they don't go out of their way to alienate themselves from the community. Asking a man in a suit and tie in a nice van to search the vehicle - not necessary. If you think there might be guns or drugs or illegals in the car, call out the dogs. I would imagine that when the drivers license was run it came back with no wants, no warrants. If that is the case what is the reason for wanting to search other than to break the guys balls?
  23. Dont your work for another music store in Germantown?
  24. I have a Martin DX1 that I purchased about 5 years ago. I started playing when I was 14 and I am still an amateur. I have played on stage for money a couple of times but when my bar tab came I owed the bar so I don't really think I got paid. I used to have a Gibson U2 strat that I loved until I destroyed it trying to paint it. If I could ever find one in good shape for a decent price I would get it. 1 Humbuker that was splitable and 2 single coils. Floyd Rose Temelo, neck through body. Awesome. Sounded like a Fender or a Les Paul depending on the pickup selection that you chose. Great through a Marshal stack. If you lived around here I would say lets get together and pick some time though you would probably have to teach me some new songs, lately all I play is kids music.
  25. Not that I know of, then again I don't go anywhere unarmed.
