  1. Dixie, You know it is headed your way right? Codova used to be a really nice place to live (28 years ago) but now, I avoid it like the plague.
  2. If you are in to that Hood Rat, Thug Life. Supposedly it is a nice family place to visit.
  3. Or a Zombie. Since it hit you in the head it would have had perfect access to "live brains." I never fully understood why zombies had to eat brains.
  4. http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/2008/jul/22/police-director-sues-find-identity-blogger-critica/ Apparently, Director Godwin forgets a little thing about the freedom of speech and the freedom of the press. I guess next he will forget about the 2nd amendment. Oh wait, he already has. In case you want to actually visit the blog: http://mpdenforcer20.blogspot.com/
  5. And it is amazing what they can do with pharmacology these days.
  6. pj - that is pretty much my thought on the matter. If he gets elected we are screwed. If he doesn't get elected we are screwed. Think the LA riots on a national level. Know I don't think every town will be hit just the ones with the largest demographic.
  7. I thought it was a great show. I really enjoyed learning more about what our resident Tower Dog does. That is if he really does the same thing as what they showed. I only caught the Cell Tower part but I am sure repairing TVA lines and such is similar.
  8. If Teddy is such a gentleman why did it take him so long to open the door for that young girl? I heard it took him several tries to pass the bar and then I thought, Teddy has never passed a bar in his life. As to the moon landing, I decided this weekend I was going to make sure that my kids see a shuttle lift off while we still have one.
  9. Only for a little while longer. Sirius has bought them out (or will be). Since Rock 103 broke up the Wake Up crew I haven't listend and I don't like drew and zippy on that other radio station either.
  10. The reason I listen to XM.
  11. I found Huey's to be an "okay" burger but I was never a huge fan. Even when they used the meat from John Gray & Son's which used to be their only supplier before they closed. Now I can't really think of a good burger in town other than the ones I cook in the back yard over charcoal with a beer in one hand and the kids playing in the yard. I will have to try RangeUSA though, one of these days.
  12. We can argue the insurance thing if you want I have priced it as I am a father and husband and for a time didn't have insurance. Yes, I am sure that UPS gets great rates because of the shear number of employees that they have, but that doesn't mean that they couldn't get more benefit from having that money in their pocket. What if your wife works and has great benefits? What if I don't want insurance because I am an idiot. Do I get the money in my check?
  13. With gas prices what they are, I would much rather pay a bill on line. If Charter doesn't want you to carry on their property and now you have been told this you cannot carry on their property regardless of what the sign says.
  14. The difference is that the UPS employees do not know exactly how much they are "paying" for insurance. It could be that they could find other insurance elsewhere for cheaper.
  15. Fixed it for you though I think the Milwaukee one is a photo shop.
  16. My thought is the caliber that you can hit what you are aiming with quickly and repeatedly is the best caliber for you. If you can do that with a .380 then by all means carry it. As was already said the .380 in your pocket is better than the .50 in your safe if you need it.
  17. Spoken like some one that lives in Memphis. How is Ophelia doing these days any way? I haven't heard much from her since her "hospitalization" and "sickle cell" bouts that kept her out of Nashville. I just hope he gets the maximum and that it is not a concurrent sentencing so he spends a lot more time in jail.
  18. Usually when the critics pan the movie it is one that I end up liking. FX had Batman Begins on last night and I watched part of it. I will see this one in a couple of weeks.
  19. I actually got one recently from Hillsdale College. One of the last universities in the country that doesn't take federal money. Most of their students go on scholarship or with student loans paid for by the school. Most of the kids that have student loans pay them back. They have a newsletter that comes out monthly that I highly recommend. It is free. This is where I want my kids to go to school and they have a retirement community being built next door.
  20. What this means to me - at least as it is written - is that as long as the weapon you are carrying is the type certified law officers use in the performance of their duties you will be okay. Basically a Glock, Sig, S&W semi-auto would be fine but since most LE Agencies have stopped issuing revolvers you couldn't carry one of those - take that Rabbi!
  21. You must be able to positively identify your self to a police officer. However, if I happened to be walking down the street and a police officer asked me for ID I would ask him his reason for stopping me first.
  22. And instead of UPS paying the employee part of their insurance they could be getting more an hour and having to pay it themselves. Death of the country - Unions!
  23. Amazingly, whenever a Wal-Mart opens around here there is a strip mall that opens right next to it and it is usually filled with several shops selling many items that you could buy in Wal-Mart yet they don't go out of business. Many restaurants open near Wal-Mart to be able to feed the employees and the customers.
  24. Just remember, kiddies, they have a right to post what they want and you have a right to shop elsewhere.
  25. I believe Penn and Teller showed the other side of this argument. Fact is Wal-Mart and Fed-Ex are two of the LARGEST EMPLOYERS in America. If they were to go "belly up" because people stopped shopping there then a lot of people would be out of jobs and the economy would be in even worse shape. Wal-Mart fills a niche and fills it quite nicely. Do I like shopping there? Nope, but I do because I can find many of the products that I use on a daily basis cheaper than I can get them at the grocery store. Pampers are less expensive at Wal-Mart than at Kroger usually. To that end, Wal-Mart also affords the small business owner the opportunity to "specialize." You get better service when you go to the local mom and pop bakery than you do to Wal-Mart and you get a better, fresher product. Wal-Mart definitely fills a void in America's economy. Could they get back to Buy American? Sure, but then again, lots of the American Made products cost too much because of the unions that drive the industry.
