I would totally agree with her and would probably have done the same thing. I just see where a DA with a hard on against guns and gun owners would charge her as she was no longer in "immediate" danger and it wasn't until he made a comment about her age that she did anything to protect her self. As a jury member, I would ignore it and let her have a piece of cake.

I have a slight problem though. The woman was no longer in a threat because the robber had the money and was leaving the store. He had backed away and she pulled a gun and shot him. I am not saying I wouldn't have done the same thing but it wasn't until after he was walking away that he got shot. A bad DA could have a field day.

Isn't that the ceramic one?

The TN government stated that they couldn't take away guns during times of emergency. Laws like what MS enacted after Katrina. Nagin was an idiot.

If you carry a GLOCK there is NO SUCH THING as COCKED LOCKED and ready to ROCK. Only COCKED, ready to ROCK (hopefully not get GLOCKED)

Unfortunately I don't have any firearms that the gov't doesn't know about. I would pretty much be screwed because it is likely that (unless you have A LOT of land) they would leave any area of your home untouched if the search and seizure were to be inacted. This is where the problem lies. Sure, they could get lists and go out and find those people that are on the list but eventually it would amount to physically going house to house en masse and removing the firearms they find. Then, what's next? Your right to speak your mind?

Montana: Outlaw guns and we'll secede
saintsfanbrian replied to sigmtnman's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Why wouldn't you want a bunch of Gun owners coming in to help protect your borders? Mandatory service to the state if you want to move there. Been planning to move that way anyways. Waiting for situations to change. Once that happens... GOOD BYE MEMPHRICA -
Montana: Outlaw guns and we'll secede

I have always been a fan of Montana and have talked many times of moving there. If they do this I WILL move there!!!!!!! Obviously there would have to be a grace period from the day the SC says that guns are illegal for individuals and the time they would have to be turned in. I would grab all I had and move. -
It is an amazing thing. You don't complain about something when you don't have a comparison. Canyn has / had one and enjoyed the hell out of it.

Proposed Gun Laws Now Being Considered in TN
saintsfanbrian replied to waynesan's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
This is the case with most places. If a restaurant/bar owner doesn't want guns in their place - properly post the sign. The problem is that our government feels the need to be in EVERY aspect of our lives when they really only should be in a few. Fire them all and lets start over. -

But again, who sets the standard. Once it's in place what is to prevent them from changing it? Slippery slope. I wear a seatbelt because I am responsible for my own life. The state made a law that says you MUST wear one. Crossing the line in my opinion. Again, should you take the time to sit with the dealer and figure out the workings of the firearm? Sure maybe that is all you really want them to do anyway. In this case the dealer becomes the judge and jury as to who gets to own a firearm. What if they don't like men/women/blacks/whites/gays/straights? I understand why the state has a guideline before granting a permit to someone. I don't agree with them having the ability to grant the permit in the first place. It is a CREATOR given right (I won't use the G word so as to not offend anyone.) Yes, everyone that carries has a responsibility. So do people that drive and how many of them do you see talking on their phone, smacking the kids or eating lunch? -

Flying a plane and driving a car are not "rights granted by their Creator." Self preservation was. These are apples and oranges. Who makes you judge and jury as to who can purchase a firearm or carry it? What makes you qualified to determine the capability of an individual? Can you meet any standard? I have a standard that says you must be able to walk on water to carry a gun can you do that? I have a standard that says you must be Blonde haired and Blue eyed and come from a strict lineage of German descent. Can you do that? I have a standard that says you must drive a jeep to be able to carry a gun. Can you do that? What if they set a standard for being able to speak freely? You must have a Doctorate from Yale before you can open your mouth in public. Can you meet that? See standards are funny things. We all have them and few people actually measure up. -

The only part of the current gun purchasing process that I am "ok" with is the criminal background check. Even that is a bit of a stretch though. Some of the crimes that are Felonies that would restrict your right to purchase a firearm have no baring on whether or not you are a violent individual. The only "course" you should have is about 10 minutes with the dealer explaining the particular "features" of the gun you are buying so you know how to break it down, clean it and do simple maintenance. I used to think that on the purchase of your first firearm you should have to take a class and spend some range time and after that you could carry it whenever and wherever you like. No need to go through that on the second and subsequent guns. I was wrong. This is still a form of control. Either the 2nd Amendment acknowledges the right granted by the Creator to an individual to own firearms or it doesn't. If it doesn't, well I don't want to think about that but the series Jericho comes to mind. My previous post mentions law abiding citizens with valid HCP because that is what the state requires now. Not what I want... -

I agree that law abiding students with valid HCP should be allowed to carry any where that a police officer can. -
Our Social Security Program Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social Security (FICA) Program. He promised: 1.) That participation in the Program would be Completely voluntary, 2.) That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1,400 of their annual Incomes into the Program, 3.) That the money the participants elected to put Into the Program would be deductible from Their income for tax purposes each year, 4.) That the money the participants put into the Independent 'Trust Fund' rather than into the General operating fund, and therefore, would Only be used to fund the Social Security Retirement Program, and no other Government program, and, 5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees Would never be taxed as income. Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are Now receiving a Social Security check every month -- And then finding that we are getting taxed on 85% of The money we paid to the Federal government to 'put Away' -- you may be interested in the following: Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the Independent 'Trust Fund' and put it into the General fund so that Congress could spend it? A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the democratically Controlled House and Senate. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Which Political Party eliminated the income tax Deduction for Social Security (FICA) withholding? A: The Democratic Party. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social Security annuities? A: The Democratic Party, with Al Gore casting the 'tie-breaking' deciding vote as President of the Senate, while he was Vice President of the US ------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Which Political Party decided to start giving Annuity payments to immigrants? AND MY FAVORITE: A: That's right! Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party. Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65, Began to receive Social Security payments! The Democratic Party gave these payments to them, Even though they never paid a dime into it! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Then, after violating the original contract (FICA), the Democrats turn around and tell you that the Republicans want to take your Social Security away! And the worst part about it is uninformed citizens believe it! AND CONGRESS GIVES THEMSELVES 100% RETIREMENT FOR ONLY SERVING ONE TERM!!! A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have. -Thomas Jefferson

If you have a DL with a TN residence on it, you best get yourself a TN HCP. They are not hard to obtain and depending on the requirements in GA you may simply need to fill out the paper work and show a copy of your GA permit.

Getting to know each other: What do you look like?

I think that the majority of us "computer Geeks" marry "up." That's okay though. And yes, usually there is a G19 waiting in case some one wishes to do mine (wife and children) harm. Will post a picture once the "baby weight" is gone. -
Car of tomorrow has really messed things up in NASCAR. The other thing was "fixing" Bristol. I didn't realize it was broken? 2 Grooves? Come on. Kenseth would have been fine if it weren't for little David Reagan. I was happy to see both Gordon and Johnson off of the track. Glad that Newman won over Pole "Smoke"r or Shrub.
