I am a little torn on this issue. After all, many many years ago, our forefathers came to this country and started settling places. We did not ask the indiginous peoples if it was okay for us to come here and work the land and send things back to the country that we came from for them to have "a better life" over there. Then again, once this country was "established" and rules were created for the legal immigration in to this country, I am irritated that people in Washington want to just throw out those rules as they do so many others. Count me in as one of the bigots though. I don't like this immigration reform one bit.

I was amazed at how many of these I actually own. Seems like only yesterday I didn't own any.

Just goes to show that if some one really wants a gun, they will do what it takes to have it. Or, one could say, if one really wants to protect oneself, they will do what it takes to do it.

Naifeh is a thug that has bought his way in to power. Something similar to what the Fords and Pete's have done here in Memphis. Until term limits are enacted, there isn't much that can be done, and guess who doesn't want term limits. And don't get me started on the voters are the ultimate in term limits.

Thanks all, I am going to check out this Sabre Defense people and see if the local gun shop can get in the stripped lower. Still seems a bit strange to be plopping down $100+ on a peice of metal that may one day be a gun depending on how laws in this country go.

I am getting more comfortable with open carry. This morning I went in to the local chick-fil-a and didn't have a single problem. I guess the main thing is, if you open carry, ACT responsibly. Don't be "thugging out" in public. Appearance IS everything. If you look like you know what you are doing and have confidence, people are less likely to get "scared" of your inanimate object on your hip. The first couple of times I did it, I was nervous about having the cops called or whatever. Now, I just check the doors on my way in to make sure there is NO signage (legal or otherwise) barring me from entering with it. If there isn't, I go on in. No questions asked and conduct my business as if I didn't have a gun on my hip. So far, NO ONE has commented on it.

Just don't feel like working today. Trying to find a new job and taking care of users is a pain today.

Personally, I think if more like minded individuals would join together and start up groups like this, the government might actually wake up and realize that they are losing their voting base, thus sending them back home to deal with the mess that they have created. I would love to see the country stand up for their rights again. Solidarity would be awesome. I don't think there are enough people ready to give up their "entitlements" in order to get it back though. I wonder if we could give all of the hippies the western part of the country and the "good guys" take the eastern part. I would much rather deal with Hurricane's that you can predict or atleast forecast their movements than with earthquakes that you can't. P.S. I know I live on the New Madrid fault and all that, and if there is a "big" one, Memphis will make New Orleans look like a church bizarre.

Okay, I am thinking about starting to collect the requisite parts to build my own AR. What is a good Lower Receiver and should I get a stripped or a complete lower receiver? All help is appreciated. I figure if I start with that, then if the powers that be decide that they don't want us owning them again, I will have the "big part" of the gun of my dreams. I know I want 5.56 chambering so I can shoot it and .223 but other than that I am not sure which route to take.

Well, that is actually in the cards. We have to stay here because there is a 93 year old woman that needs our help. When she no longer needs it then we can get the flock out of here. East TN/ West NC are in the cards.
