Very good points Mr. Thompson. Very good points indeed. Run for President (or at least Governor of TN.)

I am curious about your thoughts on concealment using the IWB Tuckable style holsters. I have one and I have worn it before with the shirt tucked in and over it. I don't really have a problem with it, but my one question is, isn't the nice little piece of black plastic on your belt a signal that maybe some thing is going on in there? I may be overly sensitive about this, and the likely hood that some one is going to be staring at your belt is slim, I was just curious about that one little thing. I have tried carrying my cell phone on a belt clip in roughly the same position but that gets uncomfortable. Thoughts, Pictures etc. are appreciated.

Funny, I can order some things on line and have them shipped directly to my door and not pay sales tax. I can order something and have it shipped to the store and pay sales tax. I thought if there was a business in the state, they HAD to charge sales tax. Dell (until recently) wouldn't charge sales tax if they shipped to MS but if you shipped to TN they did (they have a manufacturing plant in Nashville.) Don't know though I would be interested to find out. From what I have seen Scott (and the crew) at RangeUSA do get good deals on firearms and I like to support local businesses. When Tax time comes back, I might go talk to them about the Kel-Tec (if the wife will still let me.)

Welcome. Whether you have one or one hundred and one, you are welcome here. We try to have fun with a very little bit of name calling or flaming.

I don't mind a bit. I worded it rather quickly but I think it came out oaky. -
House vote permits guns in more places
saintsfanbrian replied to Marswolf's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Tungsten, I have been saying this for years about ALL levels of politics. There is a reason why the American President is limited to 2 terms. I know it hasn't always been that way, but it is now and if we shouldn't have a President for more than 8 years, we shouldn't have ANY person in office over 8 years. Too many of them get elected and then the sheep keep electing them, or they redraw the district lines to get them re-elected. I know that ultimately the people are the ones who are the true term limiter, but too often these people run unopposed, because no one thinks they can beat them. Damn, it might be time for me to throw my hat in the ring for local politics. -
I applied for my HCP today.

House vote permits guns in more places

Here is the correspondence between my local rep. I emailed him this morning and already received a response: P.S. I gave him this website as a resource if he wants to "get together" with a group of Tennessee Gun Owners. -
Bump this thread everytime Tower changes his avatar!!
saintsfanbrian replied to a topic in General Chat
Lets change this one to Tower or Molon. Those two change their avatars at least once a day........ I can't find anything that I want that badly. -
I agree fully with that. But I don't see where Federal Law would have known since this is the form he filled out: http://www.ocshooters.com/Gen/Form-4473/ATF-FORM-4473-pg1bg.gif It mentions being adjudicated mentally defective. To my knowledge, being sent to the looney bin by your college doesn't count since it wasn't in front of a judge and the looney bin stated that he was not a danger to himself and let him leave after 24 hours.

Letters sent to both representative and senator. Phone calls will be made later. -
Well, if you would give up your other "hobby" they might not hurt so bad.

I applied for my HCP today.
saintsfanbrian replied to bteague2's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Congratulations on applying. I don't remember exactly how long it took for mine to arrive, only that as soon as it did, I forced my wife to load up the car so we could go some where. The first place I went was Bass Pro Shops, and they had a sign regarding loaded firearms in the store. Damn!!! -
Welcome to the forum, I wish I had an AR. I do have an AK that if things continue on the way they appear will be a nice commodity in the future.

kpease - he was sent to the hospital, the hospital did not find him to have a mental defect. This is why he was able to not lie on the 4473

Okay, gentlemen, let us dispense with the name calling and get back on topic. While I don't agree with some of the things Mr. Yeager has done in the past, he is offering training at a reduced price to the members of this forum. This is "noble" of him in his own way and I hope anyone that takes the training together can use it as a time to put faces to names, and get some camaraderie out of it. You might learn something or you might come away feeling like The Terminator and Rambo rolled in to one. I, Brian Taylor, think Mr. Yeager's actions under stress were deplorable at best, what I think of him does affect my views of his organization, but that doesn't change the fact that he is "trying" to help others out. How we react to stress is something that no one will know until they are put in a specific situation. As has been mentioned, some battle hardened combat veterans have frozen in the face of aggression, where green rookies have come through shining examples to be held with high esteem. I know Mr. Elder from another board, and I know people on that board that have been in high stress combat situations that have stated beyond the shadow of a doubt that Mr. Elder could watch their back any time. Could this all be Internet Bravado? Sure, but to date, none of Mr. Elder's actions have made me question his knowledge or ability to impart that knowledge on other people. I cannot say the same for Mr. Yeager, but he does seem to have a good crew that work with him. Hornet, your comments are the exact type of thing that is not necessary here. Name calling will not be accepted, there is no place for it, we are all adults (or at least should be according to the terms of agreement) and should be able to express our view with out having to stoop to school yard antics. Shane - hearing about something and seeing it for yourself are two totally different things. I heard that you were a weak-kneed weekend warrior, does that make it true? Did you actually see the post? I did, and while I don't always agree with what Mr. Elder has to say, the points he made were simply that TR appeared to be spamming this thread. Was there anything wrong with that statement? Shay was taking the moral high ground and I commend him for that. He and I have spoken about the "spam" by TR and he actually created a new post of other training facilities that he would recommend could some one not afford to go to or have the ability in other ways to attend one of the TR classes. Others should have followed that approach. I am not a moderator. I wouldn't want the headache, but until recently, there have been no outright "flame" wars on this board, and I for one don't want to see them start. TGO is a great forum with a lot of good active members with much to contribute. We will disagree from time to time, but the name calling and stupid arguments need to stop. It's okay to disagree, but to stoop to this level, well gentlemen, it is unbecoming of gentlemen and southerners. Brian Taylor (there, I used my real name. Happy now?)

Good News from Nashville!!!
saintsfanbrian replied to waynesan's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I hope that even as unfortunate as the recent disaster was, this will also lead them to allow law abiding citizens to carry where alcohol is served. Let the restaurant owner decide if he wants to allow them in his establishment. When is a better time to do it? When the thought that one student or teacher could have prevented this is out of peoples heads or when it is fresh? -
They are talking about a burned up wagon on jackstands and a rattling sway bar wagon. butyouarerightittakesconsciouseffortnottohitthespacebar. Dang that was hard.

I know mine is getting close to needing to be renewed so I thought I would do some digging. Thankfully, I don't have to go stand in line. The fee is $50.00. A background check will be conducted on all renewal applicants. A new permit will be mailed from the Central Handgun Permit Office. Qualified for my HCP today
saintsfanbrian replied to Branket's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
The class is mandated at 8 hours minimum for the HCP class. The extra was for the NRA Pistol class I am sure. I also believe it is probably worth the cash for that part of the class. Remember, the state HAS TO ISSUE the permit by the 45th day as long as you pass the background checks. That DOES NOT mean that you can carry WITH OUT the permit on the 46th day. You still have to have that little card in your wallet. Congrats on taking the class. I ended up driving to Jackson, TN to avoid the long lines in Memphis to fill out the paperwork.
