RN - I am relatively with you on that view, constitutionalist that is. The libertarian party doesn't really define themselves in a way that I can understand. The few that I have spoken to seem to be more Anarchist than anything else.

On Non-Fiscal Issues, you rank as a Moderate Conservative (68). On Fiscal Issues, you rank as a Strong Conservative (83). Hemi and I are opposites.

I might be able to make that. I am in class so I might not. I guess I should have checked there first. If I can't make this months, I will try next month. -
Congratulations on a nice firearm and moving out of a state with very restrictive gun laws (at least certain cities.) We tend to have fun and poke fun at ourselves a lot over here so enjoy the fray.

Mars, didn't you say you had good luck with the 3AT and many people I have talked to have them. This might replace the need for me to purchase a 3AT. I like the 9mm round and have many guns already chambered for that so it would make sense to keep any future guns in that caliber for SHTF scenarios or squirrely home defense situations. I might have to go to the local shop after tax time and look at this thing.

Amazing that over half of the people that go to CNN's site think that laws are helping the problem.

Well, you could also check with Scott at RangeUSA to see what they recommend. He is a good guy and probably can get a decent price on one though I am not sure.

Temporarily you can convert a closet to a gun safe. It is not an ideal solution, but if you have an interior coat closet etc, you can replace the hollow core door on it with a solid one from Lowed or Home Depot. When you do this replace on of the screws from each hinge with a double headed nail and drill out the corresponding hole in the door side to accept the head of the screw. Install a deadbolt lock on the closet and you have a "poor mans" gun safe. Is it the most effective way? nope but even pulling the hinge pin out won't get some one in that room. It is a cheap mans safe room too. Granted, with enough time and effort, the door can be broken down, but that is what alarms on the house are for. PS. If you have an alarm on your house, you can have this closet wired up to it also. Extra protection incase some one is able to get in to the house with out setting the alarm off. As for actual gun safes, well, I could probably use a large one since my rifle collection has grown, but I don't have space for it now.

Now it's a baby under water. That guy changes his Avatar more frequently than he does his socks. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showpost.php?p=10888&postcount=4 -
I like the 1911's and the black plastic guns too. I don't have a particular favorite, though my G19 spends most of the time on my hip. Welcome. Hope to see you at Range USA the Sunday after Fathers day.

Yup, if it weren't for the boots and the bit of the neck, you would never see him. Wonder how many times he lost his cover on that sofa.

– every person that is a citizen of this country whether by birth or by naturalization Since our forefathers knew that NO union or nation was perfect, they were striving to make something that was more perfect than the rule they had just been under. Set up a form of justice where people were treated equally under the law instead of having a different set of rules for one class of people or another. Establish a way that all citizens can leave in peace and harmony together. They knew there would be some problems hence the establishing justice section came first not the tranquility section. Whether they intended a standing army or not is not the debate. They knew that it was a government’s job to keep its people safe. This meant, in my opinion, that the government was to see to it that you had the ability to provide for yourself. Not for them to provide for you. By creating this document, the forefathers were saying that it is Our responsibility to make sure that these processes we are putting in place are here for our offspring. Remember. The Constitution is basically a term paper. The pre-amble laid out what they planned on describing in the future comments. It was the synopsis of the entire document.

We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America. We all know where this comes from, but what exactly does it mean to you? Give me your thoughts and later I will give you what I think.

Most of my crew can be seen at http://www.rachelmonkey.com It isn't 100% up to date, but you will get the ida.

It still amazes me that they think they can lower crime and murders with passages of bills such as this. When will lawmakers realize, that if people want to commit a crime, they are going to. All the laws on the books are not going to stop them. Let's stop making MORE stupid laws.

The IRS would really have to love us this year for me to get an AR. I think anything we get will be put to use paying off outstanding debt so if the end comes, we won't have to worry about that.

It's called revisionist history. Who cares if it's right as long as somebody feels better. I believe that a "civil war" will probably be in America's future. Unfortunately, the battle lines will not be as clearly defined as they were in the last one. Literally neighbors going at each other. Oh wait, we have that now, it's called Gang Warfare.

May God grant you and your father peace in every way. Prayers are with you.

I have started becoming more and more in favor of "doing away" with congress and senate or at least more limits on their authority. Most laws on the books should be addressed at a local matter. If my state wants to legalize drugs, more power to them. Let all the hippy dope smoking people move to this state (which I will then vacate in favor of a drug free state.) If my state wants to allow capital punishment, more power to it (I'll stay.) Congress should be addressing national issues like defense/trade/and NATIONAL security. Leave the rest up to the states.

With this knowledge, a prosecuting attorney could whip the jury into a frenzy that you had many other options other than firing a bullet. I am not saying that you would go to jail, BUT if you are hands on with another person and have this type of training, I would think it would be better to leave the pistol alone until an absolute LAST option.

I wish Congress would leave it up to the states. I see Hawaii and CA listed on there several times. Along with NY. Don't those states already have MORE RESTRICTIVE gun laws then the country? Shouldn't that be the way that BANS are handled? Leave it up to the State/County/City to decide what THEY want. That way, if I want an AK and live in CA, my option is to move to TN.
