  1. Don't forget the Federal charges he is facing in Nashville on May 22. I would imagine, if I were Ford. I would be cutting a deal with the prosecutor in that case to reduce some jail time. Then again, I don't have his ego.
  2. Best wishes for a speedy recovery - Now get back to work.
  3. Found guilty of bribery not guilty of intimidating a witness, hung on extortion. Anyone know what the penalty in this state is for bribery?
  4. Nah, too many moving parts for you, Mars.
  5. The weapon itself is safe until he goes to fire it. If the barrel is plugged, it could cause serious damage to the firearm or the shooter, Then again, it would be nothing like the finger in the barrel that Bugs Bunny always did.
  6. That looks like the Bar-B-Que contest judges reports. Beer, Beer, Beer, Beer, Beer, Beer, Beer, Bar-B-Que, Beer, Beer, Beer, Beer, Beer, Beer, Beer, Beer, Beer
  7. Tungsten, don't get me wrong, I love my Glock. I would just like the decocking mechanism for when taking it down. Added insurance I guess you would say. I am always very careful to drop the mag and then rack the slide when I am about to clean the gun, I would just like the added option of hitting the decocking button/lever to drop the striker in a safe manner rather than pulling the trigger.
  8. One thing I would like to see on a Glock is a decocking lever. This should be easy enough to handle and allow something like the Walthers have with a half rack cocking. Do a press check and you are cocked again.
  9. bteague2, Thank you for that information. It would be interesting to find that in the Qu'ran if you have the time.
  10. How about Tuesday at Noon at Colletta's on S. Parkway?
  11. I was wondering. Some restaurants allow patrons to bring in alcohol to consume even if they do not sell it. Would one be breaking the law carrying in this establishment or not? Alcohol isn't sold for consumption on premisis, but alcohol is being consumed on the premisis? My opinion is that you would be well with in your rights and the law to carry here.
  12. Welcome Dave. Glad to have you.
  13. Welcome to the fray. Enjoy the company. Come for the knowledge, stay for the camaraderie. You share the sentiments of many people on this board.
  14. Tungsten - they were distracted by the bar-b-que you know. As soon as they stepped away from the trough, they realized that the guns were gone. A joke here though, Since the SWAT are Police, isn't it canibalism for them to be eating pork? Just kidding, just kidding don't go stalking my car for tickets and all, I have the utmost respect for law enforcement.
  15. Where oh Where are you tonight, why did you leave me here all alone, I searched the world over and thought I found true love, but you met another and pbbt you were gone. That tune comes to mind when I am waiting on something...... Age rears its ugly head again. Or then there is Tom Petty - The wai aiting is the hardest part! Seriously though, I think mine took about 30 days (3 years ago.) and I hear they are starting to get a little better.
  16. Okay, so 0down and I are thinking Tuesday at Noon at Colletta's on S. Parkway. Who's game?!
  17. Oopps Wrong Thread...........
  18. I just found out that 0down and I work about 5 blocks from each other. With that in mind, I think we are going to hook up for lunch one day next week. Trying to sort out the details. Any other TGO Memphis members work / live in or around downtown and want to meet for lunch.
  19. Machine guns stolen from SWAT van April 23, 2007 Memphis police were looking Monday night for the thieves who stole seven weapons from a North Carolina SWAT team van parked in South Memphis. Members of the SWAT team based in Raleigh, N.C., were eating at Interstate Bar-B-Que, 2265 S. Third, about 3:30 p.m. Monday when they realized their van had been broken into, said Lt. Jerry Gwyn of Memphis felony response. Taken were three machine guns, two semi-automatic handguns, and two 12-gauge shot guns, Gwyn said. The officers, who were traveling from Raleigh to Little Rock for training, noticed two thieves driving away in a burgundy Ford Expedition, Gwyn said. A video surveillance camera also caught the thieves in action. "We’re concerned with getting these guns off the street," Gwyn said. "We have a lot of folks working on it right now." The theft was reminiscent of a heist in 1997, when thieves stole a Little Rock FBI team’s Suburban. Inside the SUV were grenade launchers, M-16 rifles, submachine guns and other potent weapons, which were found after an intense three-day search. http://www.commercialappeal.com/mca/local/...5501442,00.html Took this from another gun board, but I knew about it happening (all over the news) This place is about 3 blocks from where I work.
  20. And other people that would rather follow the status quo than think for themselves.
  21. I literally spit coke out of my mouth when I was listening to this guy Warning some "offensive" language From the land of Tea and Crumpets: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=418_1176494781 Getting a lot of material from the Libertarians today at another forum. They are in rare form.
  22. What a concept, Michael Moore is blaming something other than guns for Columbine etc. http://www.drugawareness.org/Images/Moore/moore1.swf Says that basically all of the reasons they listed in Bowling were BS and that it happened for "no other reason" than prescribed pharmaceuticals. Granted, he doesn't say that these kids (and Mr. Cho for that matter) might possibly, just Possibly, been "evil." Anyway, enjoy the video
  23. Hope all goes well for your dad. This is the EXACT reason why teachers (or at least the principal) needs to have the ability to protect themselves and the children they are charged to keep. Good luck and God Speed to you and your family. P.S. Take a vacation day and wait 1000 feet from the school.
  24. Well, the SWAT team from North Carolina has found out how rough Memphis is. They had several of their firearms stolen out of a truck while they ate at Interstate Bar-B-Que on South Third Street. This place is about 3 blocks from my office. Leave firearms in the car? Not if you want to keep them. This really sucks for them Robbi's that is. I hope they find the punks that did this.
