  1. Something about baby 1911s is attractive. Not sure what but it's the way it is haha. As for single white dot out front, all of our other pistols utilize 3 white dots so better to keep a familiar sight picture. The gunsmith answer was too obvious, I should have thought of it.
  2. I use gunzilla at home, and on my helicopters machine guns in Afghanistan. Doesn't attract dust and the guns attain a higher rate of fire with gunzilla over clp.
  3. My wife has become quite fond of these two pistols, or atleast the idea of them. In searching I've found noone saying bad things about them but was wondering if anyone here had experience with them. Also the sights on both are plain lacking even white dots. I've been unable to find aftermarket sights for either pistol, any recommendations there?
  4. I can agree with you on those points, but I'm not sure staying helps either. Especially with the rest of our economic/foreign policy blunders of the last 50 or so years... What were we talking about in this thread again...haha
  5. We can talk about each country on a one by one basis, if you would like. I just wanted to dispel the myth that combat wasn't occurring involving US forces in Afghanistan.
  6. Because on a daily basis in Afghanistan our troops are in actual combat. Germany, not so much;)
  7. Being fractionally there is still there. We haven't pulled out, not yet. I agree its diminished exponentially over the past few years. I'm just kinda saying they've paused the drawdown for reasons that don't make sense
  8. My current point of view from Afghanistan causes me to disagree that we aren't engaged in combat anymore ;)
  9. In regards to our current wars... You can't achieve an objective, without clearly defining one. Winning isn't an objective. We are fighting an idea. Every taliban we kill creates two more. There are 15 yr old kids that know only this war in their homeland. It's best we leave in my opinion
  10. The biggest contributor to the German defeat was Hitler refusal to allow a breakout to link up with forces outside the city to either resupply or retreat/roconsolidate/reattack. It is good Hitler was such a micromanager or we might be speaking German. He had many brilliant subordinates that were handicapped by Hitler undermining their plans/operations by ignoring their advice
  11. Both are great guns. Check out a taurus pt111 g2 just for fun, it's not much bigger
  12. I've hemmed and hawed but I think I'm at Sig238/938 or a PPK. I will likely just buy what I get a deal on. I've shot a PPK and loved it. Same for the 938, it was great even with the flush fit mag. As for the earlier Tauras pt111 g2 remark, I have that already, it's awesome. My only complaint is the stippling is slightly too aggressive for all day iwb carry
  13. I'm leaning heavily toward the Beretta, and as its what I carry at work I can justify it for training..haha
  14. Maybe I'll check one of those out, sounds interesting if nothing rlse
  15. So digging this back up, the revolver phase I was going through seems over. I'm really hankering for these at the moment: -M9/92fs - Sig 938 -PPK - G17/19
  16. The prices keep climbing on the Cheetahs. I want to test one out but nowhere to do that
  17. Has anyone fired the pk380 AND the PX4 subcompact in 9mm? How do they compare?
  18. We had the talk about the 238. She knows the technology and safety features of a Sao gun , but just doesn't like the idea of cruising around with a cocked hammer. Maybe if she shot it? Anyone compared a bersa thunder , browning bda/beretta cheetah to a pk380? Speaking of the 938, I'm holding out for the all nickel plated one :)
  19. That's where she gets more picky, she likes hammer fired guns more. She is particular, I'll give her that. I am gonna have her try a 9mm that's a little heavier than the pk before too long if I can help ot
  20. I'll look into the CZs. I did some more chatting tonight, it's been short conversations because it ends when she gets re-mad about the situation. Anyways she mentioned she prefers da/sa and a similar size and weight to the pk380. The bersa is out just for its blowback design (stiff slide and recoil for her build/medical conditions )
  21. I won't spend much space on why its being replaced other than poor warranty service and poor design. She loved the grip , light recoil, and easy to operate slide. The da trigger wasn't fun but worth it to get to the single action trigger on the 2nd round. What other pistols should she consider in this class (similar size 380 or MAYBE 9MM)?
  22. In short, I'm on the fence between a Sig and a Beretta. I can't decide. So from the perspective of someone who is unhappy with Walther customer service, would I be happiest with Beretta or Sigs customer service if I needed them?
