Yeah I hear ya. I guess at that point it's all about what your time is worth. My time isn't worth paying much more money for NIB lol

I always thought I was happy with my BCG's and this Nib stuff was hogwash. After using a Nib carrier and bolt I can definitely see the benefits. Cleaning is much quicker and easier. I can't say that they "run" any better than a mil spec, but they making the cleaning process much quicker to me.

Same here, although I don't reload yet. I enjoy shooting a AR platform for less money, all my controls being identical, and the ability to shoot steel at a closer distance than .223. I don't shoot steel at closer than 100 yards with .223, although I've seen it done

Ramped bolts allow you to run a normal mil spec hammer. Non ramped and you will have to buy a 9mm hammer. As far as using a carbine buffer and spring, I wouldn't. As a reference point, my QC10 bolt has removable weight and in total it weighs 15oz. My buffer weighs 8.5oz and is extended length to keep from having to run a spacer or quarters. I also run a Wolff extra power buffer spring. I can't imagine what one would feel like with a carbine buffer and normal carbine spring, but I imagine it would be much more rough than mine and it seems like it would beat itself up. I know if you run a carbine buffer of any weight you need quarters behind the spring or a spacer to keep the buffer from gaining enough speed to break off the bolt catch As far as lowers, if you're going to run the PSA mag block I don't see why you can't run any in spec lower.

Well, mines built on a QC10 lower and sports a pinned 14.5" barrel for the time being. Form 1 will be sent off here pretty soon I think. Runs great, although I admit I had a problem with the BHO in the beginning. It's my favorite firearm to shoot by far right now. I also have a Hipoint 9mm carbine that's great for shooting cheap steel case and not cleaning :) Pretty crappy picture

Thanks for that info. I actually shoot around 3,000 rounds a year on the high end so it's a serious consideration for this year.

Just out of curiously, for some of you guys that have reloaded a while. What are you loading your .223 for per round?

I get what you're saying. That being said, your argument sounds identical to that of the people who defend Keltec whenever those products don't work right out of the box. "All they need is a fluff and buff!" Comparing those two companies in the same sentence is a shame considering the dollar difference

Maybe I'm just 1911 ignorant, but should I really have to do ANYTHING but shoot a weapon I pay that much money for? I mean, call me crazy...but I've given $500 for those ugly weapons that rhyme with block that have never needed "fixing" :shrug: I dunno, but it feels like buying a Ferrari with a "some assembly required" disclaimer. My Chevrolet truck runs well.

I'll just say that so far I've put maybe 300 rounds through the 3 that I have between my AR and pistol. No malfunctions or anything, added bonus of having enough floor plate pressure to actuate my BHO. I figured they would be good because their AR mags are good to go as well

I saw where they are offering those, in the future I might try one out. I know what you mean about the BHO because I was very frustrated when mine didn't work on my QC10 lower, especially per dollar sent. So thankful I found those ETS Glock mags that will actuate it. Now I would have no hesitation sending off for a stamp on that lower.

Wasn't sure what section to post this in but wanted to share my experience. For those of you not familiar, QC10 makes AR pistol caliber parts. Their bolts, what would be the BCG in a normal AR have a removable weight in the rear of them that is held in by a .25" roll pin. While out shooting last Saturday my 9mm AR the bolt basically seized in the upper. I was able to remove the bolt and saw that this roll pin had walked out and the roll pin was pressing into the side of the upper receiver causing it to bind. Annoyed to say the least, I shot them an email explaining what happened and that I felt like for the premium price I paid I should have received a premium product, respectfully of course. Monday morning I not only got a return email, but a phone call. We talked the problem out and decided to just try a new roll pin before they replace the entire bolt, a pretty spendy piece compared to normal BCG's. I installed the new roll pin and I've since ran around 150 rounds through the weapon with no trouble. I emailed them to follow up and let them know that it had worked, only to receive a phone call a few minutes later thanking me for my patience and apologizing that it happened. Very cool if you ask me. Cliff notes: I had a problem. QC10 not only emailed me, but called me to straighten it out. Then called again after it was fixed to apologize and thank me for my patience. Hmm, never seen that with mine on the bolts, only black carbon like normal. I have noticed it with my muzzle devices though, never paid it much mind

I saw over the weekend a university that has came up with the same thing, only more crude. If I remember right though due to whatever restrictions they are only allowed to fly it indoors
