  1. I was thinking the same thing! Seriously though, I think she was the epitome of what every conservative whines about wanting in a politician and then throws under the bus when they aren't 100% in alignment with their personal thinking. I'm also amazed how much liberal propaganda has permeated these same minds. Show me one "controversy" she was accused of that bore fruit? Yet I keep hearing in this thread alone how they must have gotten something. If they didn't get it yet maybe it isn't there. This is the thing that aggravates me to no end with conservatives.
  2. Just look at the slew of celebrities that have similar problems. The more fame the more rope you get to hang yourself with. The problem is they have more leeway to choose who is around them. Your average joe is kinda stuck with who he has and runs out of options a lot quicker. As far as why he was the way he was, many have had bad families and a lot even worse and did not turn out like him. We are not products of environment but results of our decisions.
  3. Ha, lack of sleep and no AC will do that to me. Besides it gave this thread something better than unicorns and bunnies to drift away from.
  4. Been happening a lot lately!

Me thinks you have forgotten something.
  6. It's GG&G here you go. Rear Spring Flip Up Sight for the AR 15 - A2 Spring Actuated BUIS
  7. I'm thinking there would have to be some test cases first since this is a relatively new issue. My thinking is it could go either way in the current climate. The Walmart incident was not a good gauge becasue as stated it was a "known" issue. Would be interesting to see.
  8. I hate those threads. They add nothing of value, aren't searchable, post counts start to be irrelevant, they hog space, they tend to be cliquish, and they are generally annoying. If you really want something like that maybe a chat feature could be an option. I say that without knowing the hosting issues that might create.
  9. She didn't haver any "scandals". She had the Dems and a multitude of lawyers trying to dig stuff up and all they could get was her daughters pregnancy. Even the Dem controlled ethics investigations in AK admittedly couldn't get anything on her and believe you me they tried. I can't blame her one iota for her stance. I just listened to her entire speach and it made perfect sense to me. She wan't going to be a lame duck taking a paycheck from the AK people and vaction like most politicians do. The sound bites they are playing are what make it sound weird.

My first thought is NOOOOO. Initially sounded good, but if you accidentally pull the trigger or some one else did and you didn't know about it there is no way you are going to be able to use that gun for protection.
  11. Sad commentary on politics when that is the thought process.
  12. Funny how the good ones get out on their own ala Fred Thompson. UNderstandable but sad nonetheless .
  13. What amazes me is that it is always the Dems that forget the 10000 uncounted ballots that got lost in their trunk or the machines the Dems forgot to count before there was an issue.
  14. Really makes me wonder about the folks in Minnesota. Is this really the state that gave us Little House on the Prairie?
  15. No those laws are only a reflection of what separate us. It is our morality, character, and world view perspective that separate us. Unfortunately the divide is narrowing. BTW I doubt 98% of us who carry are "under" threat. However, we do want to be able to respond in like kind if and when do come under threat. If you could plan it out you could just call the police to meet you there.
  16. Don't worry though, it's not your fault you feel this way. The gun on your hip is what gives you those urges to kill you can't control.
  17. Yet another Rayburn article in the Tennessean. It is just like all the rest so I won't post it, but David Randolph Smith's (Rayburn's Lawyer) closing quote was rather interesting.Nashville restaurateur to fight state gun law | tennessean.com | The Tennessean It's official. The TN HCP will no longer be known as a Handgun Carry Permit, but by it's new designation the VHCP (Vigilante Handgun Carry Permit). There will also be a quota for bar shootings in order to retain your VHCP. A badge is required. They have officially lost their minds. It's kinda of refreshing to see.
  18. Old man I grew up with use to talk about sliding you hands along the river bank and tossing the trout onto the bank. I never believed him till I saw that 82 yr old man do it. Pretty funny.
  19. From another retailer's site: Hopefully they will get ridiculously low for a little while. Now where were all those guys who argued with me about market correction?
  20. Best Place I went was the Green River in Montana. We were in a very remote part and you had to hike a few miles above a natual fiord lake to get to the upper stream. We were at 5k-6k elevation IIRC and the trout were aggressive and BIG. We couldn't get them to hit fly's so we tried some rogue tri-hook bass lures we had and they were snagging them almost as quick as they broke the surface of the water. This was late July and the water temp was in the 40's. Very COLD. Another great place was Ross Lake in Northern Cascades Park in Washington state. Went up above Ross dam to the river and the High mountain tributaries flowing in to the lake were spawining grounds for the trout. It was literally like fish in a barrel. Fun times. Not my pictures but this is it:
  21. I don't care much for lake/pond fishing, but there is just something to being on a clear river and trout fishing. I haven't fished much here but we used to go all the time on the White River in Arkansas. Fly fishing is the best.
  22. Centerfiresystems.com is advertising Doublestar? lowers for $99. We're back! AR-15 Doublestar Lower Receiver Part #ARLOWER
  23. That is a truly awful place and this is coming from a guy who remembers The Mall of Memphis, Hickory Ridge Mall, and the Southland Mall's of Memphis!
  24. In light of a somewhat surprisingly good ruling overturning Sotomayor's earlier ruling, is the SCOTUS making a statement on Obama's current SC selection? I know the line they are supposed to be above emotion's and personal feelings........well, except for Sotomayor, but could this be a statement? Interesting me thinks. Supreme Court rules for white firefighters | tennessean.com | The Tennessean U.S. Supreme Court takes turn to right | tennessean.com | The Tennessean BTW - I find it interesting that Sotomayor is only mentioned in passing and these stories are buried deep in the paper.
  25. Army vet and 9mm in the XD and 19 are too much? Then just about any gun short of .380 or a .22 are going to be tough.
