  1. While you all know I'm no conspiracy nut ......... the ATF is using mind policing policies. This is what I don't like. It is so open to interpretation the ATF can really enforce anything they want. How can they determine intent. Some cases are easy, but every case "could be" intent. How do disprove your own personal thoughts? How do you prove your thoughts? While I don't necessarily think there is some underground cult running the ATF, all it will take is a liberal with intent to effectivley crush 2a using seemingly harmless laws already on the books. This is about my only tin foil moment, so sorry for the rant.
  2. What is the magic number? and I don't think it would matter anyway, the way they can interpret their rulings as liberal or strict as they want.
  3. 7. An individual acquires frames or receivers and assembles firearms for his or her personal use, not for sale or distribution. The individual is not manufacturing firearms for sale or distribution and is not required to be a licensed manufacturer. I missed this. However, it is still unclear about the sale. If i build an AR and sale it say a week later...... or the same thing but sale it a year later? The key seems to be if/when I sale it. I believe they already used this in the Olofson case (granted he had other issues, but this was one as well)
  4. I got a Barska SWAT scope that works very well. I
  5. I doubt they will. The way ATF uses these decisions, they seem simple, but it gives them an incredible range of power. They can use this to get anyone who resales a gun. If you change handguards - manufacturer and unliscensed dealer, change stocks/grips - manuf/ UL dealer, change sights ........... This is a very restricting ruling.
  6. The doors to the mall from Bass Pro say, "no firearms permitted beyond this point." other than that nothing. I think it is more for people who just bought a gun and then want to walk around the mall. Of course this is all mute, since Kwik has sent his manifesto on posting to mall security.
  7. There goes the ATF again. I guess the crackdown has truly begun.
  8. Now I know how to get a free transfer next time!
  9. Because it is Franklin Gun shop. There are many others in Nashville that will do you much better. Phil at Bellshire Hardware is a great place.

    AR-15 to 6.8

They can also share the same bolt carrier, but the bolts are different. When I had mine, I just had two so i didn't have to worry about getting them mixed up.
  11. the 220 is the temp of.the steam from.the steam wand used to foam the milk. i imagine they got some water from the boiler spout and assumed it was.the same temp. btw the boiler is pressuized and it is 220 at the wand, i have he marks to prove it.

    THE Question

Connery by FAR! Brosnan was pretty good and Lazenby was decent. Daniel Craig just doesn't strike me as James Bond, although Casino Royale was a great movie. Dalton, Moore... I just pretend they never happened.
  13. 6.8 and it is not even close. i can only think of 3 loads for x39 and the 154g sfot point is the only viable SD/ hunting load. The 6.8 has a variety of SD/ hunting bullets available. Basically anything you can get .270 in you can get 6.8 in. ballistically the 6.8 is superior as well.
  14. I don't think there was actually a time when it was this way. It is just now with media and everything else we are instantly aware of stuff that wasn't revealed before. Remember JFK? MLK Jr? Truman? LBJ? Looked like saints and later we find out what they were behind the scenes. The cynicism is because the curtain is starting to fall revealing the wizard. Is it good or bad? I guess that is debatable.

    AR-15 to 6.8

Do get 6.8 specific mags. While .223 mags will work, the aluminum ones tend to bulge under the added pressure. That is why 6.8 mags are stainless. As far as uppers go, get a Cardinal Armory/Ko-Tonics upper. They are the definitive 6.8 builder. They use the 4 groove, 1:11 twist that is perfect for the 6.8.
  16. You have definitely been in the !
  17. It's the same finish as M&P, Walther's, XD's,...... and I'm sure others. Yes it is the best production finish out there.
  18. Generally with kydex, you get less holster wear due to less surface contact than leather. Leather tends to "touch" the gun more and hold moisture. With leather it also depends on the lining, as to how much wear and how quickly. IMO it is really indifferent as every gun that is carried much will show holster wear sooner or later.
  19. NO, nor do I carry my knife with a blade attached. Just too dangerous.

    AR-15 Q

While technically/legally you can hunt with .223, I wouldn't recommend it. It is a little small for whitetail. I know, I know shot placement, but the 6.8 would be a better hunting round.

    First AR-15 M4

Maybe a holster next. 1911 Mexican style, just seems wrong...... and dangerous!
  22. The same idiots who ND in gun shops, and the like, are the same ones who think they are an exception to the rule. Its the same argument that only sensible people will abide by no gun signs. Signs are only effective for those who have sense, those who don't......well, there is only one way to cure stupid. Signs, especially at gun stores, are pointless. They only effect those who don't need the instruction. When they start putting warning labels on fast food, do you really think those who aren't conscience of their weight are really going to take notice? Maybe a better sign is, "We reserve the right to refuse or shoot stupid!"
  23. After the deal you got on that VEPR............ the world is almost right again.
  24. I think Guns and Leather has some.
