  1. We go once or twice a year and been for last 18 years. It is expensive this time a year and they jack up rates for special events. We go in nov. for boat races and rates go up. Kinda have to decide what you want to do between street walking, people watching, scuba or snorkling, drinking, beach time. How long your staying and how many people is a factor also. We usually fly direct into KW but the drive From miami down is great also. Be glad to help you with any suggestions. We've stayed pretty much all over the island and perfer the truman annex but thats race week and its for a whole week. Ya want to hear sticker shock we stayed at Ocean Key back in the day, many years ago. Last year I believe ocean front room race week was going for $600 + a nite Needless to say this is not in my budget.
  2. I never idenified my system and steped outside and shut the door behind me the danes were acting liking a bunch of savage wolfs "whatta a joke". I do think 2 would would bite if someone pushed the issue or handle me or my wife. Actually I live on on private street and I'm sure he got a less than warm reception from everybody. Its one of those streets thats marked deadend and private . When sunday drivers "get lost" on it they are basicly greeted with what the hell are you doing here stares from everybody.
  3. Is it typical ADT alarm systems to send people arond door knocking? I was home today and a guy came to the door with ADT sign ,neck ID and what looked to be some kind of orderbook . He told he wasn't a salesman but started the the spill. I told him I already had an alarm system"he asked what kind" I couldn't remember but between the alarm system and the 3 great danes trying to bust thru the door and the fact that I'm usually home all the time I was good to go I was polite and told him that I appreciated he was out knocking on doors trying to make a living but was happy with my situation . Is it a common practice for ADT to send people out like this or is this a possible check out the neighborhood deal. I'm fortunate I live on a deadend street where everybody knows everbody and at least one person is home most of the time at every household

  6. May be, but these sure did have the sticker that said grainger co. We hardly ever buy these because between ours tomatoes and our friends we're usually over run with them. You know how it is. You can't eat 'em fast enough in the summer and would kill for one right now.
  7. Yep I wish I had now I think my wife got tired of my experiment and threw them away. But honestly they looked like the day she brought them home.
  8. Probably the wrong time of year to bring this up, but last summer my wife bought some grainger county (Tenn) tomatoes. They sat on the counter while we used my homegrown ones from the yard. Which usally go bad within a week. I noticed they didn't seem to show any aging so I decided to see how long they would last. So after pushing 3 months no bad spots, no softness look like the day she brought them home. I didn't cut them open, just finally threw them away. We now have a couple of apples pretty much same story pushing well over a month. Also some green leaf luttuce over a month looks good. It is in the fridge. What kinda of crap are they treating our food with ? You would have had to see the tomatoes to see how good they looked after such along time. I see long experation dates on alot of packaged meats and such that scares me off. No wonder is was OK to eat the way my grandparents ate back in the day " floating in lard" at least it was natural.
  9. How about white sauce and egg noodles ? I add some keibalsa, black olives, onions, peas. Doesn't sound like much but its really pretty good really easy. You cand use ground beef, ham or any meat. veggies, green pepper, musrooms, hot peppers. garlicbread good to go

If so did it look good or did it look cheap I haven't seen one first hand kinda like it but its hard to tell by pics I hate to keep pushing the catalog (paper) but its more like a magazine well worth the effort it does take a few weeks to get it

  21. Welcome ! Born in sevierville spent my first 12 years there
  22. I also have "been there done that" My wife went to see one of the "best in town" He told her he couldn't help her because I had talked to him over a year before. Which might be a good tactic if you're in a small town is get a consultation with the better lawyers. my understanding is that if you talk with them first she can't use them. I feel for you . I got the house so that meant she tried to take up the carpet , llightswitch covers , curtain rods, tried to jerk medicine cabinet off the wall. Think I wasn't glad to see her go.
  23. As in south knoxville ? Great place to live. I grew there just something different about "south of the river"
  24. My hat is off to you. You certainly have my respect !
  25. Good Idea Maybe not the "wow" factor or in this case "Bow Wow" factor as the real deal. You do have to be devoted . Your lives will change. So just make sure its what you both want. Nothing more loyal and devoted than a rescued animal.
